Brûlée signage and cart! So cute!

This is an updated review as I ended up hiring Brûlée to cater my wedding dessert and wow they did not disappoint. Francoise was so nice to work with, had quick responses and was super friendly and accommodating. She even made a custom creme brûlée flavor for us! Our guests LOVED having creme brûlée over a traditional wedding cake and the cart that she sets up with the lit up sign is SO cute. I highly recommend brûlée for any event!!

Mom so excited to try her first Brulee LA in Vanilla flavor! She has become an expert on Creme Brulee. She is a precious 89 years old.

My Saturday with Mom...and a delicious review (long post) So, my Mom's favorite dessert is Creme Brulee We found out today her favorite place will no longer be making it So, I went on a mission for the best Creme Brulee out there. I researched and found, Brulee, in Downtown LA with curbside service. I immediately called and spoke with the owner, Francoise. Asked her questions about her Brulee. Placed an order for my Mom, in a few hours, there we went, curbside pick up, had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know more about the owner. Her story of how Brulee was born, is very inspiring. Plus, she is French! So happy for her and I am a huge supporter of small businesses. After our long day out having lunch, (Mom had Chicken Tomatillo soup-Amazing, me-chicken lime salad) more curbside errands, finally this evening, my Mom was so excited and happy to try thee Brulee, in her favorite flav, Vanilla. There are other flavors-FYI. To see the smile on my Mom's face, says it all...priceless. Mom rated it a big 10. In her words, it's creamy and a smooth custard, very delicious, full of flavor, plus the crystallized sugar on top breaks perfectly. The combination was amazing. Mom is in heaven, knowing I will make sure she gets her Brulee fix, always. It was such a pleasure to meet you Francoise! Thank you. Can't wait to try your quiches and tiramisu. She caters events and does live torched Creme BruleeAmazing. If you are looking for something special, contact her. (310) 866-5174. Curbside was quick n easy. You may ask but wait, your a Chocolatier, a dessert artist, can't you make Creme Brulee? Yes, the Ms Chocolat in me can but, Francoise is French and Creme Brulee is an authentic French dessert! A no brainer. Please, tell your friends and family. Share Brulee @brulee.la @ms.chocolat Life is sweetSupport small businesses. #Bruleela #cremebrulee #quiches #tiramisu. Mom & daughter Ruthi. Mom turning 90 this year! I see a Brulee Live Bar in the future

I've seen people here working on their laptop and groups of people around one table so the vibe is chill and friendly. It also depends on what time of day you come. Weekends usually get packed. As for the drinks and food. What we've had here has always been good. Best to eat their Croffle and baked goods there. Although Matcha is not for my liking, I'm more for their Taro Drink. B says the Matcha here is one of the better ones she's had. I have to agree even their Matcha Ice Cream is good. We get is the Matcha Croffle + Ice Cream, Matcha Einspanner, Taro Einspanner, and their cakes. Only thing I knocked down a star is because Not all the workers know the answers to your questions of what is in what food item or if you can substitute the milks. So that's something Cafe Upper should train all staff. Especially if people have food allergies.

Personally, I don't like that style, I was hoping the original would change that for me! Long story short, I didn't like the Walnut Chocolate Chip. I personally just don't like that style still, so I'll chalk it up as a "me" problem. The cooked part was good. The Rocky Road was cooked through. It was an amazing baked good with good flavor and add-ins. Between the roasted almond slices and fudgey chocolate chips, I was enjoying it immensely. A highlight of my day for sure. If you love underbaked cookies, Levain is your cookie shop! I don't and they had something for me too!

Based on my memories, this LA location keeps it consistent with a similar taste and texture as the NY location. 3.5/5 Chocolate Chip Walnut: This cookie was tall and slightly undercooked in the middle. The middle was a bit on the squishy side, and crunchy on the outside. Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. Chocolatey tidbits were well melted into the cookie texture and produced some fudgey notes. The cookie sizes are large and potentially shareable, and feel like an every once in awhile treat.

We've seen all the viral fruit pastries online, and were so excited to try them. When we got in, we were able to see all of the options on display and they had a big menu telling you exactly what was in each one. You order off of a kiosk, which makes it incredibly easy to order. Almost all of our pastries were ready before we had even left the kiosk, which was great! I went with the mango and the peach, both of which were fantastic! The shortbread cookie underneath both was delicious, the mango mousse and filling tasted so fresh and amazing. The peach had an Earl Grey cream and fresh peach chunks as well. Both were in the classic white chocolate shell. These are so cute, fun to eat, very refreshing, and not overly sweet. The shop itself is adorable, plenty of seating, great decor and the staff was super friendly and very nice!
