My family and I are new to town and I've had a terrible experience at another dental office. It took a while for me to find another dental office providing the level of professionalism like Century Dental. When i first started coming here, they wow you with gifts and a tour, make you think they care about their patients and bribe you to give them a 5 star review by giving raffle tickets to win a prize. Every time I come they have new employees which looking back is a huge red flag into how their business is ran. My last experience there was awful. Mackenzie the helper was rude to me. Dr. Call spent more time talking on his ear piece and giving me a blank look, then actually working on my mouth. They always find something else wrong to cost more and more money. I had had enough and wish I had realized sooner that Dr. Call is simply a salesman in a doctor coat. My new dentist office did x-rays for free and walked me through them. I was not happy to see how many recent crowns I had gotten from Century Dental that were not on their correctly and had areas for cavities to form. I can't say enough good things about this place!! Century Dental, by far, is the BEST dental office I and my family have ever been to! Just for clarification I am a husband and a father of 4 kids ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade. All 6 of us go in for regular cleanings and checkups, and it's ALWAYS a positive experience- from the second you walk in the door, greeted by Mary's inviting smile, to comfortably sitting in the chair, in their state of the art patient rooms, to walking out the door with your dental goodie bag and a rose (yes, they even give one to the guys to take home for their better half). Dr Call and Dr. Densley are masters of their craft. I'd recommend them to anybody. Dr. Call is my dentist, and he has a way, as does Dr. Densley of making you feel comfortable regardless of the procedure, but also assures that you are completely informed on what they can do, will do, and are going to do. There are no surprises. If there is a way they can improve your smile, they will let you know. This is their passion. They will also be completely honest with the cost, without the used car salesman pressure, that I've seen from other dentists. These guys are top shelf quality! I remember my first visit in 2012. Dr Call got finished with my exam and explained that there were tell tail signs that I grind my teeth at night. He explained how he could rebuild my teeth, and asked if that was something I wanted. I understood it was cosmetic, and said sure that would be nice. He then said, " and it probably wouldn't surprise you if I told you it could cost the same as a small car." I started laughing, and no, it wouldn't surprise me. I explained that I just wanted to take care of what I got, and he said no problem, he just wanted to let me know my options. Never once did I feel pressured, but it's good to know that i can get it fixed if I want.....and it's just a funny story. Anyway, I'd like to give a shout out to one of my favorite dental hygienists, Mellissa. And one more to Annie, one of Century's finest dental assistants. You both have done great with my family! There is so much more I can say, like how awesome it is that Century Dental has delivered donuts and toothbrushes to my office, just to show their appreciation. They are a full service dental office. They take care of my daughters braces- and I want it noted, that I shopped around, and they gave the best price, plus I already knew the quality was there. They also make their own crowns in house. No more annoying temps that feel like sandpaper- the work is finished the day it's started! So there it is. If you're looking for a dentist, you have to check these guys out! There are two dentists here. Dr. Call is young and therefore relatively inexperienced. Still working on developing his "chair-side manner". Dr. Densley is smoother and obviously more experienced. Nevertheless, they had to re-do both the jobs they did for me, because they didn't get things right the first time. Having to re-do a crown is a serious pain - all the way around. Dr. Densley was concerned and validated my feelings, tried to do the right thing by correcting Dr. Call's work. Still I am a picky dental customer, in that I want things to be done right the first time. The hygeinists are great, really friendly and do a nice job. If you're interested in becoming Mormon you're in luck: they have the Book of Mormon sitting on the tables in the waiting room so you can avail yourself of the wisdom within. read more

For years I have been going to Century Dental in Hillsboro for regular cleanings and the occasional x-ray. On my last visit, Dr. Densley told me I had to have a series of x-rays every five years. My teeth are fine, I just wanted a cleaning, which I has scheduled six months in advance. Dr. Densley told me I had to have the x-rays or I couldn't have the cleaning. I should have left but paid the $245 out of pocket for the X-rays + $95 for the cleaning. To throw salt on the wound, Mary the dental assistant who has done my cleaning, and with whom I had the cleaning scheduled was not available. After I went through the series of X-rays I was then told someone else would be doing the cleaning. Keep in mind I scheduled this appointment with Mary six months in advance. I was referred to Century Dental by my boyfriend, who has been with them for many many years. My first visit Century Dental was impressive to say the least. Even before physically arriving at the office, my phone conversations to schedule the appointment and get records from my previous dentist, went smoothly. Once I arrived for my first visit, never before have I had such a "welcoming" experience. Mary at the front desk was friendly and explained what she needed. Not only was I given a welcome gift, but I was personally toured around the facility, and explained all of the amenities, rooms and some of the processes. The office is very well designed and maintained. The oral evaluation was explained by Dr. Densley and I was even asked how much information I prefer to receive. Never before have I been asked that question! Assistant Rachel helped with X-rays and was personable and efficient. I needed to make a follow-up appointment for services and this went smoothly as well. Theresia was able to quote me what the additional services would cost, so I could better plan for the second visit. All-in-all, I would say that this team and this office has it all together and I actually look forward to my visits to come. And THAT is saying a lot. read more

My wife and I have been going to Century Dental for about 10 years. The staff and doctors are friendly and knowledgeable, and are happy to answer all of my questions. They are great at helping me understand the pros and cons of the various treatment options and working within the budget and priorities that I have. They have invested a lot into the latest technology, from digital x-rays that use a fraction of the radiation to a milling machine that can build a crown on demand. When I was a kid, I chipped my front tooth, and every few years the repaired chip would break off again.I was never able to really bite into anything with my front teeth. When it broke yet again, they explained why this happened, and we decided to do a real fix with some veneers. Now I can chomp into anything without fear. Century recently proposed that my 5 y/o son get 6 fillings for cavities between his molars. My wife and I were suspicious and followed up with the dentist my mom works for on the coast. The second opinion showed no signs of cavities requiring work to be done. I have since filed a formal complaint with the Oregon Dentistry Board as I was not happy that they were proposing ~$1700 worth of work on my son's baby teeth and they would have to sedate him to do the work. Also, the followup showing no signs of cavities did not left me feeling like they are more con-artist than genuine dentist. That was appalling. Upon review, my wife found this place due to needing a crown. That crown failed after a few months and required replacement. I had some cavities filled and having grown up with a competent dentist, I was not happy with the work. It felt more like the dentist was in a huge hurry to complete the work. It just felt like sloppy drill work that was used more like an excavator than the precision tool it is. I will not be returning to Century Dental and I would strongly suggest you go elsewhere. They will always find something to work on like a dishonest mechanic to pad the bill a bit more. I didn't like it. read more

I needed to find a dentist about a year ago. A co-worker told me about Century Dental so I thought I would give them a try. I couldn't be more pleased. The receptionist (Mary) is as pleasant as they come. My Hygienist (Alma) is great. I always look forward to our visit. Recently I had a tooth break that required a crown. I have had a couple crowns done in the past and wasn't looking forward to the procedure, But Dr. Call was awesome. I was very impressed with the technology. They have a machine that creates the crown right in the office. No temporary crown or return visit needed. This was probably the most painless dental procedure I have ever experienced. I find this dental office to be very.... inconsiderate. I have been to many different dental offices due to work and travel. I went in to this office for one on the coupons you can get in the Hillsboro paper. I went in and had the exam and x-rays. I was told I needed to have a Root Canal; I was so shocked because I have never had one before and I have never been told I needed one. I was not experiencing any pain or discomfort. Well i agreed to get the Root Canal done. About a couple weeks later I got this very sharp pain in my mouth around the area I had the Root Canal Done. I went to another dental office where I saw this amazing Dr at a different Dental office in Hillsboro. This Dr was so respectful and nice, He told me that the Root Canal I had done needed to be retreated. I was like what does that mean? He said Root Canals tend to need to be re treated only when the Root Canal fails! I asked how this has happened he told me it was because whoever did the Root Canal for me missed 2 canals!!! I was livid; I never will go back to this office. So long story Short..... I have to be referred to an ENDODONTIST who specializes in Root CANALS AND THAT WAS NOT COVERED BY MY INSURANCE AND IT WAS $1200.00 OUT OF POCKET. Oh yeah not to mention...When I went to this NEW dental office here in Hillsboro, I had to request for my info and x-rays to be sent over and Century Dental acted like they were going to send it when they had the time. Absolute rip-off billing process!! I specifically asked for worst case scenario for my Appointment today and was given two different scenarios. My printed estimate had me at 892.60 out of pocket at the most. Once the work was done and it was time to pay, suddenly my out of pocket was 1600.00 out of pocket, plus it tapped out my 1500.00 of Dental insurance. I live within a strict Budget and this is not OK! There response was a bit, oh well, make payments. Do not trust their estimates!! They obviously are good at extracting hard earned cash out of people, not just teeth. Plenty of Good, honest Dentists out there. I'm just saying. read more

Wow, Century Dental as gone above and beyond what was needed. I spoke with Mary the receptionist and she answered all my questions and concerns. I had a check up, x-rays, and teeth cleaned. Melissa did a great job with cleaning my teeth as well as explaining what she was doing or what she saw. Then spoke with Renee on my way out of the office to take care of what insurance didn't pay and she was pleasant. She made that easy!
