Honest work at a fair price by a local family-run business. My brother drove his 2000 Saturn from CA to Chicago to visit our mother, who just entered 'hospice care'. His a/c wasn't working (blowing warm air) and that 3 day trip here was unbearable during this summer heat wave. So, where do you go to get it fixed, without getting ripped-off? Since I am a AAA member, we drove to their office/auto repair shop on Saturday morning, in nearby Evergreen Park. They quoted $260 to do an a/c system evac/recharge & dye test. They were booked-up and couldn't do the job until the following Monday. Thank God for the internet, because we found "Certified Auto Repair" (incorrectly listed as "Certified Foreign and Domestic" on Yelp). We drove there and was greeted by Belal (aka "Bill") and he quoted $160 (a $100 savings) and could service the vehicle NOW. In less than 30 mins., the job was done. His vehicle was low on refrigerant, so the a/c compressor's clutch wouldn't engage. (That's why we couldn't diy add refrigerant ourselves.). It's now blowing ice cold air and the return trip to CA will be much more comfortable. Thank you Bill for your excellent service at a very fair price. read more

My experience was ok. Most of the staff is really nice but one individual can come of pretty rude. They fixed one thing on my car that went really well but the breaks have been squeaking ever since. I told the rude one about it and it was just kinda blown off saying that it can happen when breaks are wet but I was told different from another mechanic (possible cheap breaks). So now my car sounds like a squeaky tricycle and that's not cute. Plus they were pretty expensive. Not quit as much as the dealer but not to far off especially for the having squeaky cheap brakes. read more

Well my personal experiences are always awesome. Coach Billy is very kind and welcoming. Whenever I call or come in he gets his team to do my oil change done asap. They even put window washer fluid when they noticed I was out. I was going to do it myself and lo and behold they gave me free fluid. I checked my receipt and they didnt charge me. They go above and beyond. One time I forgot to come in early before they go to friday prayer and he said they will wait for me before they head out. Even though I go once or twice a year Coach Billy will always ask his customers how they are doing. He always greets my little kid. They make you feel like family and friends. read more

I simply LOVE this auto repair shop! I have a 22 year old Ford and Certified has been servicing my car with excellence, fidelity, professionalism and fairness for almost 2 decades! Unfortunately, I made a grave error in judgement by taking my beloved truck to another mechanic closer to my home. THAT mechanic charged me almost 1K for something that I did not need NOR did it remedy my overheating issue. I took it to Certified and they had a long, empathetic and logical conversation with me regarding Pumpkin (my truck). I was told that the problem could be fixed but how much more money will I invest in something that has (probably) passed its time. Of course, they fixed the overheating that the 'other' place failed to diagnose but I was more impressed with the time they took to explain the overheating issue in addition to reminding me that I cannot continually pour money into my truck. What mechanic will have a very emotional talk with you? Other mechanics will just keep taking your money and could care less if you are throwing away your coins. 7/24/14 Want good, professional auto service in a timely fashion and reasonable rates, that will beat any car dealership garage in Chgo,IL. I was referred there by a long time ,loyal customer. I was there today for front and rear brakes. the manager Billy , greeted me personally. he quoted me a time frame that the work would be completed. My car was ready within that time frame, and at the price he quoted. They are not only Nissan certified technicians, but service all foreign and domsetic vehicles. The Certified Auto repair is connected to the citgo gas station on the corner of 83rd & Pulaski. They have a new customer for life, and I have already referred a family member to them to have their vehicle serviced. Who says quality customer service is dead? I saved money. After going to the nissan dealership garage for about the past 17 years,. they won't be seeing me again, at 71st off western ave. in Chicago. I am more than happy to pass this review along to others. The nissan dealership was charging me an arm and a leg to get it fixed. I brought it here and they gave me a price that was more in my price range. With all new nissan part, I am one happy camper. My family has been going to Certified for at least 20 years and we get all of our cars serviced there. They're great honest mechanics with very reasonable prices. They're typically busy (all great shops are) so I tend to drop off my car in the morning before work and pick it up after 6 from the attendant in the gas station after I get off of work. I previously wrote a review after getting an oil change at Certified. My car experienced some issues after getting the oil changed and I assumed it was because of something they'd done. I have since found out it wasn't related to the oil change but some sensors concerning the engine. It just happened to be bad timing. They have always been very nice to myself and my husband.
