I began looking for other professional opinions, one of which was by Dr. Gist. While he could've very easily just put me on a tighter cleaning regimen, he took the time to conduct a comprehensive, thorough exam, 360° sort of x-rays, etc. It was about a month of exams by him, his over-the-top experiences office staff, a periodontist, and an endodontist. The infection was obvious, and could not be denied, but he was also convinced that I had some other really big things going on under my crowns/veneers from said former dentist. And boy was he right. I've included pictures of what he uncovered (please keep in mind that I was going to see my former dentist every three months for cleanings, so it is not like I did not take care of my teeth), as well as a picture of my smile today. Dr. Sohn seemed okay but the dental hygienist scraped my gums so hard I was not bleeding a little but a LOT and then she aggressively pushed a deep cleaning priced at $900. This was my first visit here after moving back to the area (grew up here, 10 years in Austin, back to DFW for a few months) mind you I have never missed a cleaning in about 20 years. I get a routine cleaning every 6 months and have never had anyone do what this hygienist did. I wanted to be open minded plus I had already paid the upfront 1 year package so I came back 6 months later after she scolded me about not doing the deep cleaning and said well if you want you can just see back in 6 months how flossing and brushing goes (yeah I think I will do that). Then at the next cleaning magically my teeth were fine b/c I requested a different hygienist. Also wow no bleeding. I switched to Tate Dental in 2024. Routine cleaning in Feb & Oct 2024 - both visits got a clean bill of health and no bleeding from the hygienist. I told no one of my experience at the new dentist to see. I asked the dentist and hygienist if they would recommend a deep cleaning and they both said my teeth are perfect health and it wouldn't be necessary showing me photos, etc and explaining what would be the reason for a deep cleaning. I did let Dr. Sohn's office know of my experience when it occurred in 2023 and they did nothing. So all that to say, buyer beware. No clue if the reviews are real or not but my experience at Sohn was awful and I only went there b/c of the good reviews. Also Tate is better priced too! I called in advance and asked for pricing after the awful experience at Sohn. I have moved a lot in my life and of the 5 dentists I have seen no one has EVER scratched the crap out of my gums like that and then acted like it was not their fault. I was shocked and now I wish I would have just stood up and left. I realize now how bad it actually was and I was just being a pushover.

I called and let them know of my situation. I was seen the same week and scheduled for a crown the following week. This was my first crown so I was extra nervous about the procedure. He was very upfront with me about the cost and potential for a root canal. Luckily I did not need a root canal. He did a great job! The procedure was pain free and I'm satisfied with the experience. The office isn't super fancy but the service is top notch. Thank you again for making the experience as painless as possible.

My teeth never feel really clean after a visit and he talks to his staff about his plans for the weekend the whole time he is examining your teeth. This is every single time I have been there. LOL My whole family goes there and like everyone else, my husband works and it is very challenging scheduling him because they are open only during hours he also works (9 am-4 pm) and forget ever trying to get in last minute. Only reason I came to this location was due to the fact this facility was in-network with Delta Dental. Received a preliminary plan with estimate of costs. Both my regular Dentist and Delta Dental advised me to request for this office to submit the info to Delta Dental for pre approval. It took this office a week to do this. When the office mgr, Melinda, submitted the info to Delta Dental, it was determined the summary file was NOT readable. Delta Dental sent Melinda an email stating this, but no reply. I was forced to conference the call between Delta Dental & Melinda at Dr Baik's office. Melinda is overbearing, unprofessional, and can't seem to be bothered to answer a question directly when I asked her if she sent it via PDF. She had NO CLUE HOW SHE SENT THE SUMMARY FILE, BUT realized the file she submitted was unreadable. She was suppose to fax this to Delta Dental, but they NEVER received. She NEVER bothered to respond back to Delta Dental. Delta Dental advised the fax was NOT received. I attempted to request Melinda to send me a readable copy of the summary so I could fax, along with asking her to fax it again. She kept interrupting me and would NOT listen to my request. She is a person who plays victim and kept saying over and over that she can only do her job and REFUSED to listen. Needless to say, I would NOT TRUST this office at all. Recently, they added Dr. Alan Williams and I have to admit that I was rather skeptical. 15-year patient and you assigned the 20-something newbie to me??? C'mon guys! It took maybe 5 minutes for Dr. Williams to win me over (and the completely painless crown didn't hurt either). Dr. Williams was funny, friendly and professional to a fault. In fact, I actually looked forward to my follow-up visit because I enjoyed chatting with him so much. NOW, if they were only closer to Dallas! Great work guys!
