The food was great - at least for this ex pat southern boy who grew up in 1950s Florida, and doesn't find much southern fare in California. The fantastic service came from some wonderful ladies who acted like they knew us all of our lives, and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our drop in for dinner while traveling through the area. The ambiance: Florida all the way. A totally enjoyable experience was had by the six of us, with promises to someday return. Stopped in today for the Chicken & Dumplings lunch special. This was my first time at the new location. It looks fantastic inside and it's super neat and clean. The service was friendly and fast. This is our first time being back at Bradley since they moved. And I have to say I'm not sure why we waited so long to go. The service and the food were both very good. As soon as you walk in the door, you can smell the goodness of all the food and you're greeted with warm smiles. I love how they've decorated the new place. It's very cute. It's all about country living, fishing hunting and etc. My husband had the fish platter and he said it was the best that he had had in a long time. I had the the blackened mahi and it was perfect. The seasoning was spot on and it was moist and delicious. The service was great Someone was always coming to make sure that our cups were full and if we needed anything they would bring it. Their menu has changed and they have a little bit more on there which is great. They have daily specials and the prices are very reasonable, especially for what you get. It's definitely going into our rotation of places to eat. Still trying to figure out why we waited so long to go. Highly recommend going to Bradley's. If you want regular home cooking, this is a good place. They have specials and offer a lot of choices over many types of food. It gets full on weekends especially. PRICE very reasonable. 12oz prime rib was $21. 8oz NY strip was $17. Both come with 2 sides. We were also offered a complimentary bowl of soup prior to our meal which was vegetable soups that night. Sooo good! Dessert was $4, and the coffee was complimentary as well. QUALITY of the food was on point! The bathrooms are really clean! Why is that important in a review? How many times have you wondered about the condition of the kitchen when you viewed the mess in the bathroom? Antony Bourdain assured us there is a correlation. The food at Bradleys is consistently good old southern style fare. Fried, and well prepared. If you want healthy, organic, farm to table you might find what you seek in St. Augustine or Deland but not here in Palatka. Our fried flounder,squash casserole, fried green tomatoes were outstanding but the hoe cake was mediocre. I guess the regular hoe was out sick. Seriously we enjoyed most everything. The decor also is southern swamp friendly. Deer, bobcat, alligator, and big bass cover the walls as well as nicely hand painted murals. While visiting the O.P. area this restaurant was recommended to us and we were torn between Bradley's or a restaurant that was closer to Fleming Island where we were staying - The drive was not bad and it really was not an issue once we ate at Bradley's! For us who loved eating at the O.P. St John's Seafood and still haven't recovered from them closing- this was a real wonderful find. Mel our server couldn't have been more kind and funny And it added to our dining experience - We don't really like fancy surprises in our food and Bradley's was just simply and full of flavor, we got their shrimp and their hush puppies were the best we've had in awhile - No jalapeños!!! The shrimp tasted fresh and just like shrimp! We were going to return the next evening to have dinner at Bradley's unfortunately we ended up getting an early start back home. Ok. I deducted one star for subjecting me to the blaring Faux news channel while waiting for a table. Please put it on the weather channel or something that doesn't offend. I absolutely can't stand all the yelling they do on the channel but back to my review. Here in Palatka you have many many good choices for lunch or dinner and that includes some awesome seafood. Bradley's is a small quaint business like trailer that is being used as a restaurant. It's not the cleanest or nicest but the food is very very good and the seafood is very reasonable. The hush puppies are standout and some of the best I've ever had. Service is outstanding. We enjoyed the fried alligator $8 and fried shrimp large 18 pieces $17 Both were very good. The greens were delicious. Cocktail sauce is homemade. It's the little things like homemade sauces and sides that make a good place great. The desserts are not made in house so I opted out. This place has been a awarded "Best Lunch" & "Best Overall" restaurant in Palaka for multiple years in a row. So, with this pedigree one would expect a superior meal. But, if you would be expecting that you would be let down. There is nothing negative I can say about the place. The decor is down to earth with nothing pretentious. The Wait Staff was very attentive and extremely friendly. The prices are reasonable and the servings were large, especially for the price point. The menu had all the standard of a Seafood/Stake restaurants of this caliber. Now for flavor.... I found it common with nothing that would make it stand apart or above others. The food was cooked properly and had good flavor, but it was simply average. Overall, I would not put up an argument if my parents wanted to eat there again, but it is not a restaurant I would seek out. Cheap price for decent food. Not the best ever but sastifying. They have all you can eat deal on tuesday, wednesday and thursday. My husband tried the all you can eat catfish. It was tasty but very filling bc it was fried. The shrimp is the delicious and probably the best thing to eat here. The meal comes with free vegetable soup. The staffs are nice and friendly. My dad asked me if I wanted to eat Fried Green Tomatoes for lunch. . Of course I said yes. I tried the Fried Green Tomatoes and he was right. The FGT are lightly breaded bursting with flavor. Our favorite Friday early dinner. I'm stuck on their Prime-rib and loaded potato. However, we like to have dessert first and the Key Lime pie is the best around. After the pie, soup, salad, potato and veggies It's time for that go box to take the rest home for a late night snack, or tomorrow's lunch. We have been to Bradley's a number of times and have been pleased. It is not five star dining, but the service and food has been good. Their seafood tastes fresh and is delivered hot (in timely manner even during lunchtime rush), wait staff is friendly and attentive. Prices/Portions, in my opinion, make Bradley's an excellent value. I consider it one of the top five meal values in Palatka. At Bradley's there in no pretension in the atmosphere, casual dining with a "diner" feel.
