Food service cocktails all were delish and quick and really surprising i thought. They had some unique menu items and we will def go back for the chicken bites and drinks at least. Server was friendly and gave good descriptions and food came out quick despite rain and all was yummy and def homemade. We tried oysters chicken bites the fried chicken gumbo and a burger. I had the black cherry marg and the French 105. So good and fresh !! We will def go back !!

Susan and I stopped at Velchoff's Corner after a boat ride on the St. Johns River, and this place continues to impress us every time. It is a permanently placed food truck with patio and indoor seating, and everything about it feels intentional and welcoming. The food is outstanding. The Cracker Swamp Burger is hands down the best burger I have ever had and earned our Best of the Best award. Susan loves the shrimp and grits, and the fried chicken gumbo and shrimp buffalo bites were excellent. Quality is top shelf across the board. Service was friendly, though a little slow due to staffing, but the experience was absolutely worth it. This is a must-stop if you are anywhere near Palatka.

Just ate here - it was great, the kitchen is actually in a food truck but there is a large, cozy dining room and a beautiful patio with a great view of the St John's. Great friendly service. We had, among other things, pimento cheese (different but excellent) and a French dip. And the fries are absolutely the best!!! Highly recommended!

The ambiance was the first thing that got my attention. Upon arrival the look and feel of the place was so welcoming. Outdoor seating on a beautiful day with an awesome guitar player and a seating area filled with unpretentious beautiful plants. The food comes out of a big food truck and don't let that disappoint or discourage you because the food was very good. The staff were so friendly as if you were one of their regular patrons. Well we will be for sure! The park was only step away & beautiful right on the St. John's river. The only downside was that we wished the coffee shop was opened next door to Velchoff's & the shops too on the very small Main Street were closed or non existent. Palatka is an up and coming and Velchoff's Corner is the rising shining star. We will return. Oh& the fries are delicious! And the waitress from New York made you feel as if you had been going there for years and it was our first visit but not our last for sure.

Very nice location. Drove from Gainesville to check out the area. From yelp reviews picked this place and well worth a stop! I had the crab corn chowder. And Bloody Mary w extras! Excellent food. Service a bit slow - was moderately busy.

I've passed by this quaint place and this time I stopped in. Was greeted by super friendly staff that loved where they worked and what they did. Had the Blackened Mahi sandwich and it was hands down the best one I've ever had. Fresh caught, thick and moist without too much tartar sauce trying to mask anything. I'm a 5th generation Florida Native and this by far was hidden gem. See you all soon.

Another amazing meal at Velchoff's Corner. Celebrated a friend's birthday with great food and conversation. The Avocado Toast was amazing!!! Not shown here was the Blue Crab chowder, Caesar Salad, and Cajun fries which were the star of the evening. So sorry I didn't capture those. We were pre-gaming with the fries as an appetizer and I didn't think to take a pic. I highly recommend them though.

Our mixologist was named Talon; he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He started by asking us what we usually like to drink (spirits and flavor profiles). Once we gave him the information he needed, Talon proceeded to make us some amazing cocktails. I absolutely loved mine and could have drank them all night. I tried some of my friends' drinks and they were all excellent as well. We ordered several appetizers to share (guacamole, wings, empanadas, and mojo chicharrones) plus beignets for dessert. Everything was very tasty! Talon came back over to ask us what options we'd like for our second round or drinks, so we all went with something different than the first order. Every cocktail he served us was really good and based on our individual tastes and preferences. I wish I lived in the area because I would go to Odd Birds regularly. The night we were there, they had a secret disco going on in the main dining area which sounded like a fun idea. I loved everything from the drinks, food, and interior decor. The Charlotte 33 Speakeasy area has a pretty atmosphere as well.

I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. By the time I was a few sips in, it was mostly meltwater. For that money I'd expect the drink to outlast the ice. Suggestion for the house: given the name, lean into it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.

When I want fried shrimp today, Musselwhites is my goto place. Just as Osteens, the shrimp are two biters fried with a similar breading. As with Osteens, the dinners come with two sides and there is a large selections of fresh country sides to choose from. The hushpuppies are just as good as Osteens. They also serve a Menorcan seafood chowder here just as good or even better than the Osteens version and there is a fresh bottle of Dattle Sauce on the table to spice this red chowder up another notch or two if you are so inclined.
