Called Brads and asked if they could come THE SAME DAY because it was my only "free" day. I'm in Cambria. They had an opening , asked for my number and said they'd text when they were on the way . Got a text from service tech AND call from Brad as techs were arriving. I called because garage door wasn't closing Malcolm the tech was professional and explained the rails were a little tight, and the limiter on the down stop needed adjustment. We had Brad install two 14' roll up doors almost 5 years ago. The service at the time was adequate, although it took forever to get a quote. Still, at the recommendation of our contractor, we went with him. This is now the second time we have needed service. He doesn't return calls. He doesn't even send a message to say he's too busy to service us. After My husband's calls weren't answered, I called and he did answer. We were told he would come by the next week. Now one month later, he has not come by and will not answer our calls. We expect to pay for the service. It is just unbelievable how unprofessional Brad is. read more

Our garage doors had been moving slower over the past year or so, and we meant to get them looked at but life got in the way. One day, though, one of the doors wouldn't open and there was an "excessive force" message on the wall unit. We called around to a couple other overhead door companies (no names, but it was the two who heavily advertise - you can probably guess). One failed to show at the scheduled time, so we cancelled and called the other. I started reading their Yelp reviews, though, and realized they were known for overcharging (if not outright scamming) customers, so we cancelled that one, too. Finally called Grover Beach Overhead Door, who gets great reviews and originally installed our doors, but were told they don't do service calls where we live (Heritage Ranch). Understandable, as we're very far away for a regular service call. They recommended Brad and we are so glad they did. Brad came out in a Saturday afternoon. We feared the worst, since the other company told us we probably needed new springs, or maybe the opener itself was failing (after only five years). Brad assured us everything was fine, the springs just needed adjusting. He serviced both doors, even though we had called to report only one of them had a problem, installed new lightbulbs in the motor units, even reset the clocks on the wall switches ;-) The doors are operating like they did when they were new, and he only charged us the cost of a regular service call. It is so refreshing these days to find someone who operates a business responsibly and ethically, particularly in an industry known for taking advantage of customers. These guys were great! My garage door kinked and the motor wasn't working. Brads has someone to my house in a day, and they followed up with further repair on Monday right away. They communicated well and were pretty much on time but called when delayed even a few minutes. Reasonable cost for repair and saved me having to get a new door. They installed our new garage door 11/2020. Within a few weeks it would not close using the car remotes and need to hold the button down the whole time to close it from inside the garage. Meanwhile we had a lot going on in the past months including 2 family deaths and kept putting off calling them to come repair it. My husband has tried aligning it multiple times over the past months and it still would not work. So today I decided to call them expecting they would help fix it since it is new. Nope it is out of warranty. If they come out to fix it we need to pay for a service call. So they recommended my husband keep trying to fix it and hung up on me. Called over two weeks ago to get a quote on a new garage door. Was told Brad would call me when he had time and come give me a quote the following week. No call by Thursday of the following week, so I called back again and asked when I should expect a call and visit. Was told by a receptionist that she would remind him of the estimate visit and that he was on a big job and that's all she could do. I waited another week after this and have not heard a thing from anyone at Brad's Overhead Doors. Sorry guys. This is not a good way to treat your customers. "Terrible service. They installed the garage door initially on the new vacation house a little over 2 years ago. Last weekend we tried to open the door and it popped and fell to the ground partially out of the tracks. While looking over the damage I noticed that the lag bolts they originally used to install the spring brace were barely through the drywall with only 1/2" to 3/4" penetration into the wood. After we secured the door we called Brads Overhead Door. They said that they would send someone out the next day. We waited all day for the service guy to show up and he never did. No call. We waited till the next day to call back to reschedule. They agreed to come out today between 12:00 and 2:00. He was late. He didn't show up till 3:30. Didn't bother to call and it was the owner Brad himself. Will never use them again. " read more

I am surprised at the negative reviews then again everyone has a different experience. I am happy that I had a great experience with this company. I first learned of Brad when I was hired at the local fire department and saw the company sticker on all the apparatus doors turns out they have a service contract and always maintained the doors at the station. After buying a home out in Creston a year ago I knew I wanted to change the garage doors they were at least 19 years old and were bent, creaking, faded and the most basic of insulated. After searching big box stores and online we went with Brad's. The price for both doors in the double insulated heavy duty storm doors with custom color and windows along with removing all the old hardware and haul off of old doors came in less than the price of one double door from another company FOR THE SAME DOOR. There was a wait as the doors were special order but the wait was reasonable. The technician came out and double checked the measurements I gave them. On the day of the install the crew came out and worked very professionally they removed the old doors and hardware installed all new equipment and even swept and cleaned when they were done and trimmed out the doors with new weather stripping overall I am very pleased and would recommend them read more

I would give them ZERO stars if i could. These guys wasted my entire day waiting for them. I had called them and was surprised I got a hold of them. Guy said to wait a couple of minutes and he was sending another guy over. Couple of hours passed and still nothing. Entire day passed, not even a phone call that they wouldn't be able to come. Why are almost all reviews for Brad's either a 1-star or 5-star? I'm rating them a 4-Star. My garage springs only required an adjustment but due to the age of the springs, I felt it better to replace them and the garage door floor gasket. They came the day that they said they would, however the serviceman that came wasn't the one I was expecting. The serviceman that came: did not have the same size of springs with him; didn't weigh the door; and did not cross reference the old springs with the new springs. The Serviceman did have two springs on his truck that he said would work; installed and adjusted them quickly; adjusted my garage door opener; and lubricated the new springs, existing door panel hinges, all door wheels, and and the opener's screw drive. I also had him install the new garage door floor gasket which he brought with him. The garage door is a bit quieter to operate; much easier to lift by hand; and doesn't leak during rainy periods. I wasn't advised what springs were installed and don't know if they come with a warranty against breakage. I felt that the price was fair, and I am at this time pleased with the outcome. Owning three other garage doors, I would contact them again if needing their services. read more

Came home to my garage not opening more then 2 inches. Called Brad's and they knew exactly what the issue was from my explanation. It was a broken spring. They came out one hour later. Replaced the spring, serviced the garage and even fixed an issue that was there from previous owner. The door is working better then before and is even quieter. Highly recommend this company. Is there less than 1 star?? I called this company to have my garage door repaired which is what they do right? Wrong!! I was told, by the owner, that someone would come by and service my door. A week later nothing. When I called to check in about my service call the owner had "forgotten". I called Hammond's, they told me they would be out that afternoon. When I called Brad's back, I told them to cancel the job. I was yelled at, and hung up on by THE OWNER - BRAD!! Please! I have never experienced such horrible, horrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay away. There are places, like Hammond, who actually want your business, give it to them. Once again stellar service from Brad's Overhead Door's. I have experienced great service from Brad in the past when he came and quickly and efficiently fixed my garage door. Yesterday the spring broke at my parents house. He came personally at 7 o'clock at night and replaced the springs and tightened the bolts on my parents garage and he charged me less than the quoted price because he arrived late. This was unnecessary, I didn't even have an appointment as it was a last minute emergency. I couldn't lift the door and he didn't want me to be stuck overnight!
