Other companies were in the $500-$700 range. My handyman replaced the window for $210 ($58.00 for glass). Shop around unless you want the most expensive quote. read more

We hired A-1 Glass for a costly shower enclosure in Arroyo Grande in late 2024. The glass was installed in mid-January 2025. Within weeks, the gold color hardware began to tarnish and turn an ugly brown -- nothing like the high-end finish we were promised on the expensive starphirre glass we we ordered. We reported the issue in early February, and they returned on February 17 to replace the hardware -- with the exact same product, which failed again almost immediately. They had acknowledged in writing that the hardware was covered under warranty and would be replaced at no cost if it failed again. But when it did, we were met with vague sounding emails that gave the impression they were addressing it . Despite requests for managment to call us back and resolve this issue, they never did. As of mid-May 2025, the issue remains unresolved, and we're now having to pursue legal action against A1- Glass. This company claims to be family-owned? We gave them every chance to make this right. They didn't. Poor product. Poor service. No accountability. Last week we had several windows on our main house replaced from a neighboring glass company and had an incredible experience and breath of fresh air. read more

This business saved me from a nightmare situation with Masons Tint. I bought a BMW and originally took it to get all the windows tinted at Masons because that's where my family has gone for years. I was extremely unsatisfied with the lack of quality work Masons performed so I took my car back to request them to remove my tint and give me my money back... well the owners were so rude and unprofessional that I left without either. I had already set an appointment with A1 for them to tint my windows and I had to call that morning of my appointment to let them know my previous tint was still on the car. The women assured me that they would still take care of me regardless of the situation and she was so understanding. When I got my car back the tint looked fantastic! No bubbles, no new scratches on my car if windows like that other place left. Just clean work! I am appreciative not only for the quality of work they did but how they turned a really crappy experience for me into a great one. I came to get it replaced and the next day it cracked again, they replaced it again and a week later when it rained my car was flooded with water through the windshield they replaced. My headliner is ruined and my windshield leaks and this company won't pay for their mistake. I have been trying for months to get them to make this right and they refuse. I met one of the owners of A-1 Glass by chance. As serendipity would have it, I was needing a glass company to come out to my vacation rental to stop the water from the multiple shower heads from leaking out of the shower and onto the bathroom floor and also get the shower door in alignment with the two glass panels next to it. Roger and Roy were very punctual. They both were very nice and personable, too. Roy and Roger worked beautifully together. Roger, who has many years of experience in this field, made sure any gaps between the panels were as closed as he could get them. He siliconed areas that needed it and did a beautiful job. From here on out, I will be using A-1 Glass because they are truly an "A-1" type of company! I'm giving them 5 stars because they are that good! read more

Charges the same cost ($570) of just replacing the wheels on the sliding door as is the same cost from the local Lowes to replace a sliding door window. Absurd. They get paid upfront - now I know why. Note: They have since called me back and will not be charging such an exorbitant amount. I'm still on a waiting list, so I'll wait until the actual job is done before I adjust my review. Finally finished up putting the wheels on the slider. In the end, the job was done - with greasy fingers and all for $270. You have to press them for service, but overall, they eventually did the job. read more

My wife and I built our dream home working with our General Contractor. They installed the glass on our primary shower and 2 times one of the panels did not fit. Finally, on the 3rd try it fit. They also installed our windows and sliding doors. On one of the sliding doors, the screen was incorrect. Again, it took 3 trys to get the correct one. Lastly, the screen doors did not come with locks. The installer said they would follow up but we never heard from him. I called 3 weeks ago and described the problem and the person I talked to said he would definitely get back to me. No call, nothing happened. Today I called AGAIN and miraculously the locks were in and they have now been scheduled. Bottom line is, their follow up is really bad. read more
