I connect in MSP a lot and end up at this bar a lot, and love it. The food under a new chef has improved and you can't get anything from a tasty burger to a full meal. The Caesar Salad is amazing, the burgers solid, and many of the entrees are unique and unlike an airport hotel's offerings. The drinks here are the real deal. The bartenders Bob and Michelle are great. They love to chat and whip up some tasty drinks off of the menu or unique for you. If you are spending time near MSP this is your best bet for a hotel bar. read more

Disappointed...I had been to the old location. The ambience is fine, the staff shares service with the restaurant next door. They have their own menu. While the collard gardens were an interesting surprise, they did little to offset the dry, basically charred fatty slices of what was not a quality brisket to begin with. The fries were the way I like them: thinnish and crispy. However, they were oversalted. The service was just okay. I didn't care for the ambiance at all; I may have appreciated more had I had some alcohol. Like three or four beers. All in all, I regret having been to lazy to get on the light rail and hit the Msll of America food courts where I know there is better fare. read more

Staying at intercontinental hotel and this restaurant is located inside. Have to say from the get go it was good. Very friendly service. Was helped immediately. My food didn't take long and it was hot and fresh. My Nashville hot Brussels sprouts were very good! The grilled chicken sandwich with house made chips was delicious. read more

I'm staying at the Intercontinental and had low expectations eating here. While the prices have the standard hotel mark-up, I was surprised by how good the food was and how fast the service was. I got a State Fair burger with a turkey patty (and added a fried egg), spouse got the fish and chips, plus a salad. Our server was very friendly--she remembered all of our substitutions and she suggested my spouse get a not on the menu side-salad portion of the spring salad to go with his fish and chips. Food was of high quality--definitely made fresh. We enjoyed the brownie dessert. They have board games stationed around the restaurant, so if you have some time to kill, you can play Battleship, Uno, Candy Land, and a strange card game version of Oregon Trail. read more

This was weird from go. It was a risk as a hotel restaurant, but gave it a try. It was a bigger risk for the wife's birthday, and for that is was a total fail. Arrived and the people who seated us had no idea what Open Table was or how it was possible they were on it. They said they didn't take reservations, and given the four of us more than tripled the number of diners in the restaurant, I could see why. It was a ghost town. Creepy empty. Bad start. Food was...okay? My daughter had a Caesar and I liked it though she did not. Too fishy for her taste. I had the walleye sliders and only could eat one of the two. Overpowering herbal flavor in them. Overall this place was not great. The only positives were the bourbon old fashioned, which was very good, and our server, who was great. We won't be back though. read more

Flight was cancelled after sitting on the runway for two hours. Booked a hotel and came to the bar for a drink and a late dinner before bed. Bartender was friendly and efficient. If you want to spend two hours for dinner, this is your place. Otherwise, find somewhere else. We were staying in the Intercontinental Hotel and chose to have dinner here, so we didn't have to leave the property. We arrived to an empty host stand where, after asking, the employee at the french restaurant side told us to seat ourselves. We sat down and waited...and waited. After ten minutes the server showed up to take drink orders. We ordered a beer and water; it took 15 minutes to receive the beer. As she delivered our beer, the server took our food order, and then disappeared for the next half hour. My beer sat empty and no one checked on us. When our appetizer of cheese curds finally arrived, the server said the first batch was undercooked, so the chef had to remake it. However, she did offer to comp the item. She offered a refill on our beer, which we accepted. That took another 15 minutes to arrive. At this time, our entrees finally arrived. One of the sandwiches was wrong. Instead of waiting for an undetermined amount of time for the server to return, we sought out assistance. We found, I think, a manager to explain the error. No apology offered, but they did remake the sandwich. It took about 10 minutes for the correct sandwich to arrive. Once we were done eating, our server finally returned and we asked for the check. 20 minutes later!...she finally returned with the check. We chose to bill to the room rather than risk another half hour waiting for her to run a credit card. Throughout our visit, the restaurant was maybe 30% full, yet the service was painfully slow. The food was good. But after such poor service, we will not want to return to this restaurant. read more
