We were walking across the Boothbay Harbor footbridge on Sunday afternoon when we heard the music of a band wafting across the harbor from Brady's. Ever since we had arrived in Boothbay earlier in the weekend I had noticed that Brady's was always mobbed. So since it was Sunday and still afternoon, we decided to had over to listen to the band. When we arrived, it was mobbed. Fortunately, 2 people were leaving the bar and we got their seats. I ordered the Pain Killer which is the island favorite on St. Croix. Whenever I order one in the states, it's not as good. But they made a very good one at Brady's. The atmosphere was totally fun. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The service was more than friendly and efficient. The outdoor patio is right on the harbor, so the view is beautiful. While we were there we discovered that they close at 5 on Sunday. So that meant we couldn't stay for dinner. The band was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There were many signs hanging behind the bar. One of them read: "Life is all about finding people who are your kind of crazy." I kind of thought that was the philosophy of this place. I'll update my review after eating there. read more

The haddock sandwich had about two bites of fish. The bun was soaked in butter to the point of being disgusting. It was simply not good.

Decided on this place for lunch while driving through. Order & pay at the patio window and they bring everything to you. Live music often too. Food was surprisingly good -- esp. that BANG BANG SHRIMP, yum! And the lobster roll was classic/standard, and lots of fries in their Brady's Seasoned Fries appy. Will be back soon! read more

Outstanding waitress. My French dip sandwich was very good. The fries were not. I hate when restaurants put seasoning on their fries. Ask if I want it before serving me inedible fries. My wife got a lobster roll which looked great but the lobster was over cooked and rubbery. We loved the outdoor space and would go back but would not order lobster and request no seasonings on the fries. read more

Dropped in for lunch on a weekday and the place was hopping. Table got shrimp and haddock tacos, a Brady burger and steamed clams. Everything plate was empty at the end of the meal - I consider that a win for Brady's. Walked past during the early dinner rush and the place was packed! BBH staple. read more

Atmosphere was laid back. Our bartender was personable. The French dip was very hearty and a large portion.. it would have been better on a French baguette..the bread got soggy, fast. The fish and chips were just what I wanted- huge portion! I will be back next year--hopefully the weather will be sunny and warm to enjoy the outdoor deck & games. read more

The view from the deck looks like it'd be great in the summer. It wasn't open when we went. Inside was low key and cozy. The food was average. We had the fried shrimp basket which maybe wasn't the best order. They'd ran out of lobster. The shrimp came as really tiny pieces, so you mostly just tasted the batter. Favorite place of mine. Perfect view and kind staff. Tonight I wasn't terribly hungry. I ordered the haddock chowder, which I have had before. Chunky with fish and not overwhelmed with potatoes. It arrives and it is basically potato chowder. I asked why and I was told it was the last of the pot and that was all that was left. I said no lease take it off my bill, I had barely touched it. The server came back and told me that they could only take half of it off the bill because they had "extracted" some haddock flakes from the soup. WTF? Ridiculous answer. I am Not sure what happened to this place but it was a good BBH option. Man bun guy was nice but stuck with. A bad answer. I always liked the lady who owned it. She seems to have stepped away. Live in the area and have been to Brady's many times over the past 3 or 4 years. Have to say this year things are not as good as they used to be. Food was just Okay and the prices were high for what you get. First round of drinks (Beer and Wine) came in plastic cups. I am fine with plastic in a dive bar but don't charge $8 for a beer and $12 for the wine. Service was poor which nowadays I am understanding of due to staffing but we were sitting right by the kitchen and almost all the staff had time to play on their phones! We also could overhear everything the kitchen staff were saying. They were complaining about the customers. Well these customers were keeping them alive for now. Spent $120 for two people and won't be going back anytime soon. Honestly was one of my favorites when they first opened but not anymore. read more

The location and beer selection are on point! The reason for the three stars is that they advertise this happy hour deal but what they don't tell you (until the check comes) is that is is ONLY at the bar. Big bummer we waited all day to come here and enjoy an afternoon here and were a little disappointed to learn about the happy hour stipulations only when the check came. read more

I have no idea what Paul H is talking about. I was just there this past weekend and all the tables on the vast outside waterfront deck are 6 ft apart..look at the pic I posted. All kitchen staff was wearing masks and half the tables inside have been removed to accommodate social distancing. Bradys is safe, clean, and fun. The food is fantastic! Try the prime rib Saturdays, the fried clams on fridays and the baked haddock and lobster roll are delicious. read more

When I informed the owner, she apologized and wished that I had told her sooner so that she could replace my food. Great local hangout with spectacular food. Waitstaff and bartenders are pleasant and attentive. I think the views are great as this building is nestled in the head of the harbor and has a very large deck so outside dining is a must although they are open all year with their inside dining and bar area. Unbelievably good restaurant. Five star food and staff. We had everything from steamed clams to pretzels to fish and chips to lobster tacos to short ribs and liked all of them. This was the best restaurant with the best atmosphere we have found in Boothbay and we will return tonight. read more

To my surprise I had never even heard of Brady's before last night while I was trying to find a place for Paige and myself to go to, luckily we came here...I was genuinely impressed with how nice the interior was and the atmosphere is very open and welcoming. We sat at the bar and I'm a sucker for being able to watch the chefs cook in front of you haha. We both got the prime rib special and were extremely satisfied, I pretty much felt like a Vikings eating that thing lol and yes I finished it. Super fun Coastal vibe. When we went on a Sunday there was live music from 2-5 and a fun time was to be had by all. Dogs welcome on patio, families playing corn hole and very friendly personable wait staff to make you feel welcome. Food and drinks were substantial and tasted better than average. Generous portions of delicious comfort-food, attentive service, and a nice Malbec highlighted a relaxed, happy dinner for a family of five. We stumbled upon Brady's accidentally as we came into town for a quick day visit. Was able to sit outside with a great view but that was irrelevant once we got the food. Everyone at the table remarked at how great their food was! I really enjoyed the pretzels as an appetizer and truly enjoyed my burger. read more

She is thinking of keeping the place open for food for the locals....very nice gesture!! Great service! We had brunch and I've heard the burger is excellent....also had a local bar that's nice too!! Thank you to an amazing crew at Brady's restaurant this past thanksgiving holiday !! The first night our waitress was so great ! We were seated and fed quickly ... pretzels .. delicious .. she never missed a beat ! Our second reservation.. Our waitress, Leisha, was amazing ... fast and thorough, keeping my entire family holiday happy. The food was delicious , and I was so appreciative of the Chef 's visit to the table and also a visit from Jen. The staff made every effort to get us a reservations for 2 holiday nights in a row ! My husband and I were looking for a place to eat and had never heard of Brady's so we figured we'd give it a try.... No regrets! The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because the servers were a little slow and my drink was messed up, but it's all okay because the chef's at the bar and their food and interaction with us was top notch. We both had the prime rib special and holy moly were the cuts HUGE! I subbed the mashed potatoes for their French fries and I'm so glad I did. The seasoning for their fries is insane! We were able to watch the chef's prepare everyone's food and everything looked good and the proportions were huge. We're definitely going to become regulars at this restaurant, and so should anybody else looking for a place to eat in BBH. read more

Background: Dinner during a family reunion for 30. We were there to enjoy each other's company in a casual setting. I spoke with the owner (manager?) to arrange the meal a few times leading up the visit. What follows is (1) my follow-up email describing the event, and (2) her response which I only received 2 weeks later after re-sending my initial email. Notice the complete lack of culpability or remorse. Everyone or establishment makes mistakes. However, Jennie's response was even worse then the experience at the restaurant. Hi Jennie, I feel compelled to provide you my feedback after our large family event at Brady's on Wednesday night. There were several aspects of the evening that were upsetting. You mentioned a large-party menu in your email but I never accepted the offer. Upon arrival, I learned that we had to order from the fixed menu which I was not provided the opportunity to review prior to event. Had this been the case, I would have insisted on ordering off the menu or cancelling the reservation as the selection was not satisfactory Given the fixed menu, one would have expected somewhat timely delivery of the meals. This was not the case as the time between the first and last meals being delivered to the tables had to be at least 30 minutes, likely longer. Finally and most disturbing was the manner in which my wife was treated. She was seated at a table for 4 with my 27 year old daughter and twin 24 year old daughters. My oldest daughter was not allowed to order alcohol despite (a) having a picture of her license and passport, (b) looking very much like her younger sisters (who had ID and ordered drinks) but older, (c) attending a family event with her mother. By itself, my daughter being denied ordering alcohol would have been disappointing. What happened next was unacceptable. My wife ordered a drink, had a few sips, then offered a sip to my oldest daughter before continuing to enjoy the drink herself. One of the wait staff - presumably the manager as she was not one of servers, rushed out of the restaurant and sternly demanded the drink from my wife saying "I saw you give her a drink so I need to take if away from you". Besides exhibiting a complete lack of common sense and judgement, the manager was rude and offensive. Our large group shared 4 multi-family meals during the week. The three other establishments we visited provided superior food and service as compared to Brady's I suggest you investigate our experience and then take corrective action as we had a very negative experience at your restaurant. Response to above email: Sorry for the delayed response. I understand your disappointment. however, in regards to the large party menu, that was never an option. I explained the food choices to you and at the time we spoke it did not seem to be a problem. If you had chosen not to accept the menu, we would have canceled your group as we do not have the staff or capacity to properly execute a party of that size in a timely fashion. I might point out you said it was a half hour to get all of your food out. Considering I ate at a local establishment with my husband last week and it took 1 1/2 hrs to get two cheeseburgers. I think our staff did pretty well! We are living in difficult times.       As for the girl who ordered a drink but did not have any ID with her. It is a Maine state law, anyone consuming alcohol who appears to be under the age of 27 must have the proper credentials to consume. As your daughter did not have any, she was denied service as all my staff has been trained to do by the law enforcement agencies who teach the classes. Since your family felt above the law and continued to drink when they were specifically denied, the drink was removed per Maine state law. I have reviewed the camera footage and confirmed this happened.       There is no doubt we are not perfect. We all do the best we can do with the staff (amazing staff I might add) we have and we hope in future we will provide the best service we can muster. I also ask that you be respectful of businesses that are struggling everyday to pay the bills, find staff, obey the law, pay their taxes, and keep a clear head when dealing with difficult guests. There are many good to excellent restaurants in Booth Bay Harbor, but Brady's is not one of them. I discourage anyone from making the same mistake we did by eating at Brady read more

We wanted to go somewhere different tonight so we stopped here and I am very happy we did. The meatloaf over mashed potatoes and green beans was so filling and delicious. My son got the prime rib special and it hardly had any fat on it at all. My daughter got seafood newberg and my husband got the pot roast. The portions were very filling and the service is amazing. If you are going for the atmosphere, you won't be disappointed, If you want good customer service, the wait staff is very nice, but the manager was one of the most unprofessional, carefree and inattentive people I have ever seen running an establishment like this. My prime rib came out and was literally more fat than meat. I asked to speak with the manager about it as our server said that this was normal. About 15 min later, the manager came over in a very unprofessional manner, wearing a shirt with rubber duckies on it, and said something like, "yup, it is supposed to be that way." Didn't ask if I was satisfied or if he could do anything. He was more interested in hanging with his friends at the bar. More of a barfly than a manager. Food was overpriced and mediocre. Many better spots to eat in Boothbay Harbor. They claimed that their fries were the best in the state. I thought their french fries were ok, but many in Boothbay Harbor are better. A fun restaurant with good food and a great staff. My fish and chips was good; the haddock was fine, but I like the batter a little lighter. My wife's lobster roll was perfect. A word of warning on the fries: there was a hot seasoning on them that we didn't expect. It was too much for us. If we return (as we expect to next time in Boothbay) we'll see if they can prepare the fries without the seasoning. The cole slaw was great, best we had anywhere this visit. We inquired about the desert special. To our delight it was blueberry pie--our favorite. It was awesome, a generous serving packed with delicious Maine blueberries (the best). read more

Great place at the head of the harbor. Comfy atmosphere. To the left is the dinning room and "dessert" bar where you can sit and watch the chefs cook. To the right is a huge regular bar with some cocktail tables. I have tried the mozzarella moons, potato skins, and the spinach and artichoke dip. Everything was amazing! I really enjoy that while the do have seafood they also have tons of other items from snacks to desserts and everything in between. Meal wise I have had their burgers and pot roast. The pot roast was amazing. The burger was also very good. Several beers on tap, a full bar, and Rickers Maniac Gold cider on tap. Yum!!!!! read more

This is a very fun spot to go to for amazing food and great times. I especially love their fish or shrimp tacos. Everything is fresh and delicious. It has a very cool interior and the building itself used to be a wooden boat shop. Its one of my favorite restaurants in Boothbay Harbor. We have often driven up to hear the bands and eat with a water view. Douglas Gimbel was with a band last year when we went and they were very good and entertaining. We met a bunch of friends there and had a fabulous and delicious afternoon. I highly recommend this spot! read more

Their food is pretty good! I can't rate it any higher than 3 stars on account of our TERRIBLE waitress. She brought out food out and then left us with empty drinks. She didn't come back for 10 minutes! We asked for ranch instead of blue cheese as my mom is allergic to it, and of course we got blue cheese We asked for boxes and didn't receive those for another 20 minutes.
