I chose the sardines, listed as fried on the menu. The server asked if I'd prefer grilled. Grilled it was. delicious. My husband ordered the grilled octopus. This came chopped up in olive oil. For me, it was a bit too much oil, but very delicious. They also served a nice bread, good to accompany both dishes. We have to go back and try more. read more

My absolute favorite thing about Miami is the food scene- everything else stresses me out lol. While in Miami for a weekend meeting, I did a quick Yelp search and found this highly rated gem! It was a beautiful day so I chose to sit out in the beautifully decorated porch area out front. The server quickly brought over the menu and my drink of choice to start alongside some warm bread and olive oil. I looked over and decided on a few appetizers- the octopus and the Portugal sausage. I later added on their potato chips and those were nice and crispy with a creamy, tangy sauce. All of it was so delicious, a bit too much oil on the octopus but it was really well seasoned with fresh garlic in the sauce. I loved the presentation for the Portugal sausage (see video) and loved that it brought a little more flare to the meal. I would highly recommend this eatery and hope to come back again when in the area. read more

Wow! Wow! Omg! Omg! This little place is a sleeper! We stopped by for dinner and it was a truly amazing meal from the service to the food! This restaurant is small they have two or three tables inside and a few in a narrow area outside covered by a canopy. It appears that this restaurant is frequented by locals and by many Brazilian and Portuguese dinners. There was a duo outside entertaining that were enjoyable. The owner was sitting having a drink and enjoying the music and being there. We shared an order of camarones with ajillo sauce and chorizo with mussels in a perky tomato sauce. Both dishes were delightful! For a main dish I had the lamb chops and my fiancé had the bacalao in a cheesy sauce which she loved. I have to tell you that I was blown away by the lamb chops!! This was really Rack of Lamb cut into baby chops that were seasoned deliciously, so tender and a very generous portion elegantly plated over baked mashed potatoes with mixed grilled vegetables. Each bite made me realize how deliciously seasoned and delicate the lamb was. There was a fruity sauce that accompanied them. I previously mentioned the owner, you can tell that this restaurant is his heart and soul, he enjoys spending his time with the diners having a drink, listening to the music and greeting everyone! There are regulars here that often frequent this charming spot and you can see and feel that the owner makes you feel like you're his guest. The owner and the restaurant are truly special! By the way I normally don't hand out 5 stars, this restaurant deserves a 5 Star rating. read more

The food is amazing, best octopus I have ever eaten! The meal is well made and prepared perfectly. The portions are big and filling. I split the octopus with my wife. The cod appetizer is well made and cooked beautifully. Everything looks made from scratch. I had the recommended dessert and it was amazing. The custard in the flaky crust was so good. My wife and I wanted to eat more, but were too full. The indoor area is nice, cool and quiet. We opted for the outside and ate at a small table on a lovely, covered porch with a bit of normal neighborhood noise. The staff is polite and professional, if you go with their recommendations you will not be disappointed. She even suggested to split a meal which means less money for the restaurant but a more enjoyable experience. Dining isn't all about the cost, but this place is reasonably priced with phenomenal taste. Visited with a few relatives on the Portuguese side of the family and we really enjoyed our meal here. We had a few Bacalhau dishes, NY strip for my husband, and appetizers, including bolinhos de bacalhau and chourico assado. Everything was great and service was excellent. The bolinhos de bacalhau were good but it had a big bone inside one and is served with blackeye peas ($13), the Chourico Assado (can be skipped) ($13) Had the Bacalhau a Bras ($20) for the first time and found it too dry, the highlight dish was Ensopado de Frutos do Mar ($22) which was very tasty and full of seafood. Another deliciousness was dessert, Peras ao Vinho do Porto ($9) which was totally amazing. Complementary porto makes everyone leave happy ! Will return to try other dishes. read more

We went to Portugal about a month ago and were craving some Portuguese food. This place did not disappoint. The octopus salad with some onions and peppers was outstanding. That was our favorite in Portugal and this was outstanding! The cod cakes were excellent as well. We also tried the sardines and while they were not terrible, they were ok. It's always going to be a 5 star rating for this fine establishment because food is incredible and service is outstanding, time after time. I got to try the octopus in oil and white wine sauce and I wasn't disappointed. Perfectly cooked octopus, very flavorful all due to wine sauce and olive oil with a hint of garlic. I had to have the seafood rice again because I couldn't get enough of it last time I came here about 10 months ago. You get treated like family when you visit this joint and they make sure you feel special and taken care of. They're doing some minor work on the outside to make it more private but it's such a nice little cozy space outside that it feels intimate even though you're seating close to sidewalk. This has become one of my favorite hidden gems in Miami so keep it on the low low lol. read more

The owner is sooooo nice - he is there every night and talks to everyone. The service is amazing. Always attentive. Very fast. So friendly. Honestly one of the places with best service I've ever gotten. They gave us complimentary port at the end of our meal as dessert. So nice and thoughtful l. Food - omg this place was just amazing. We got the vacalao croquetas for an appetizer. They were delicious!!! Then ordered the grilled octopus as the main dish and hands down this was the best grilled octopus I have ever had in my life. The ambiance in the outside terrace is super cute with its decorative greenery, it lends a secret garden type of escape. The only you may have to contend with is the road noise but nothing to do about that. I'm terms of food, it was absolutely excellent. All of it. By taking us all the way to Portugal and enjoy the pleasures of this Mediterranean delight... we ordered the Bolinhos De Bacalhau (so fresh and perfectly fried), Bacalhau À Braga (my favorite, how they seasoned the dish is very fresh and authentic, Bacalhau À Bràs (another version of the other Bacalhau we ordered and this one is kind of fried and very tasty, if you prefer it to be more oily, I suggest this version, Chourico Assado (very well served and presented, super crispy and tender meat), and of course we couldn't leave without tasting their famous pasteles de nata (they were the perfect ending to our meal). We asked to share the fish soup appetizer. She brought two bowls each of which was practically a meal in itself. The entrees were beyond delicious. Being Portuguese from Portugal and being raised in the North East where Portuguese Restaurants are bountiful, it was hard to adjust to life in Miami without the authentic flavors of home. There are many Portuguese restaurants in the Miami area which are all great.....This was my first time here and it won't be the last! The best Bacalhau hands down! And the sauce for the Bitoque, albeit not the normal in color and consistency, was by far the BEST Bitoque I've had in my life! The atmosphere was nice, fun, charming.....the owner, obviously a hard worker was so nice and accommodating (we had small children) - I would recommend this place hands down if you're missing good home town Portuguese food in Miami!
