    Octopus!
    Rachel M.

My absolute favorite thing about Miami is the food scene- everything else stresses me out lol. While in Miami for a weekend meeting, I did a quick Yelp search and found this highly rated gem! It was a beautiful day so I chose to sit out in the beautifully decorated porch area out front. The server quickly brought over the menu and my drink of choice to start alongside some warm bread and olive oil. I looked over and decided on a few appetizers- the octopus and the Portugal sausage. I later added on their potato chips and those were nice and crispy with a creamy, tangy sauce. All of it was so delicious, a bit too much oil on the octopus but it was really well seasoned with fresh garlic in the sauce. I loved the presentation for the Portugal sausage (see video) and loved that it brought a little more flare to the meal. I would highly recommend this eatery and hope to come back again when in the area.

We had a great meal at Braga Portuguese Restaurant. The service was great. We loved: garlic octopus (the best dish, very generous), pataniscas de bacalhau (cod fritters), bacalao a la nata (baked cod w/ cream sauce), and the mussels. Every other table got the sausage, which we would order the next time we come by. This is a local favorite and it's clear why.

The food is amazing, best octopus I have ever eaten! The meal is well made and prepared perfectly. The portions are big and filling. I split the octopus with my wife. The cod appetizer is well made and cooked beautifully. Everything looks made from scratch. I had the recommended dessert and it was amazing. The custard in the flaky crust was so good. My wife and I wanted to eat more, but were too full. The indoor area is nice, cool and quiet. We opted for the outside and ate at a small table on a lovely, covered porch with a bit of normal neighborhood noise. The staff is polite and professional, if you go with their recommendations you will not be disappointed. She even suggested to split a meal which means less money for the restaurant but a more enjoyable experience. Dining isn't all about the cost, but this place is reasonably priced with phenomenal taste. The ambiance was great and you can't go wrong with Braga, which is a small family restaurant putting out amazing dishes.

Visited with a few relatives on the Portuguese side of the family and we really enjoyed our meal here. We had a few Bacalhau dishes, NY strip for my husband, and appetizers, including bolinhos de bacalhau and chourico assado. Everything was great and service was excellent. My husband really enjoyed the steak as well. Will definitely be back to try the caldo verde and sardinhas.

Excellent service and hospitality! Super welcoming and delicious food. Was in Portugal about 3 years ago and still thinking about those tender and awesome octopus that we had there. Stumbled upon this Portuguese restaurant and it certainly satisfied our octopus cravings. The octopus was really well made and brings us right back to Portugal. We also ordered the grilled sardines and the sample platter which were both excellent. Ambiance is great with good amount of indoor and outdoor seatings. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for some really good and authentic Portuguese food!

Storming this past weekend and found Braga while escaping the storm. Walked in without knowing the menu and was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the octopus and clams. Both meals really hit the spot. I was very impressed with how well they were both cooked, along with the excellent sauce for each.

Amazed by this find! What a gem, this restaurant is as good as it gets, delicious food, great service, by far one of the best Portuguese restaurants in South Florida. From beginning to end every dish dish did not disappoint, authentic Portuguese, savory, comforting, delicioso. Portions are enough to share, dessert was fantastic. We will be returning again very soon.

It's always going to be a 5 star rating for this fine establishment because food is incredible and service is outstanding, time after time. I got to try the octopus in oil and white wine sauce and I wasn't disappointed. Perfectly cooked octopus, very flavorful all due to wine sauce and olive oil with a hint of garlic. I had to have the seafood rice again because I couldn't get enough of it last time I came here about 10 months ago. You get treated like family when you visit this joint and they make sure you feel special and taken care of. They're doing some minor work on the outside to make it more private but it's such a nice little cozy space outside that it feels intimate even though you're seating close to sidewalk. This has become one of my favorite hidden gems in Miami so keep it on the low low lol.

While it is located in a shopping plaza, the restaurant's warm and inviting ambiance makes it easy to forget the surroundings and settle into a relaxed meal. Service was attentive throughout the evening, with staff providing helpful recommendations and ensuring a smooth dining experience. The wine list featuring a selection of Portuguese wines that pair beautifully with the menu. We started with the Bolinhos de Bacalhau and Polvo Grelhado, both excellent choices. The codfish cakes were crisp and flavorful, while the grilled octopus was tender and perfectly prepared. The fresh bread service was a welcome addition and a great way to begin the meal. For the main course, we enjoyed the Paelha Marinheira and the Parrilhada de Marisco. Both seafood dishes were outstanding, showcasing fresh ingredients and rich flavors. Dessert was equally enjoyable. The Pasteis de Nata offered the classic creamy custard and flaky pastry combination that Portugal is known for, while the Pêras ao Vinho do Porto provided a refined and delicious finish to the meal.

We had reservations and were seated immediately. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. They have a tree in the middle that gives it an outdoor open feel. And an incredible wine display in the back. Our waitress, from Portugal, did a great job of explaining the menu to us and guiding us on what to order. We started off with the Bolinhos de Bacalhau which are cod fritters and OMG they were sooo good! These tasted identical to the ones we've eaten in Lisbon. It comes with the classic pairing of black eyed peas which are awesome when eaten together. We also tried the Chouriço Assado which the presentation when its brought to the table is a treat itself. It comes out on a flaming pig and then its sliced tableside. Our waitress recommended trying the chorizo with the piri piri sauce which is slightly spicy and it was delicious. It added another layer of flavor. For entree we got the Paelha Marinheira which was absolutely amazing. First off, its a huge portion and comes piping hot. Each bite was full of seafood. We added the lobster which was perfection. It's great to share between 2 people. For dessert we ended with the pasteis de nata and its great because it brings 2 pastries and we paired it with ice cream. It makes for the perfect sweet treat without being too much. The pasteis de nata is served slightly warm and is perfect with the cool ice cream. Overall great restaurant for some Portuguese cuisine.

The Portuguese/ Mediterranean cuisine is perfectly curated and fits Miami's tropical scene so perfectly. From 5 star service, to the unique flavors -- honestly some things i had only tried here -- everything is made for you to have a beautiful time. While everything was wow to me, a few of my favorites were the: - Tártaro de Pargo: Snapper Tartare, Avocado, Ginger and Apple Dressing - Pica Pau: Seared Filet Mignon, Garlic and Mustard Sauce, Pickled Vegetables - Cataplana de Peixe e Marisco Oh! And this is one of those spots where you won't want to miss out on their bread... trust me, it's a must! So much more to add to this spot -- I can't speak for their alcoholic drinks, but i had a mocktail which was delish! I love seeing the mocktail scene up and rising in Miami -- so fun!

Horrible Experience - Blatant Discrimination and Zero Service…read more Today June 26th, 2026 I would give this place zero stars if I could. The experience my partner and I had at El Carajo was absolutely disgraceful. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were not welcome. After being seated, we were completely abandoned. We sat at our table for over 12 minutes without a single employee acknowledging our presence. The waitress actively ignored us, completely bypassing our table to serve other parties who arrived after us. She never came over to greet us, never offered us water, and never took our order. It became painfully obvious that this absolute lack of service was not an oversight, but deliberate discrimination because we are a gay couple. To be treated like we were invisible and inherently unwelcome in a public establishment is deeply hurtful and completely unacceptable. The environment felt hostile, and the blatant prejudice we experienced ruined our evening. We ultimately had to leave without even ordering. Do not support this establishment if you value equality, respect, and basic human decency. They do not deserve your business.
