I booked an Appt online for my daughter to get two goddess braids, I love that I can do that, so much easier than having to text the stylist and wait days for them to get back to you. We showed up on time for our scheduled 3:30pm appt but Kadi was finishing up her pervious client and asked that we come back in an hour since we lived 5mins from her shop, and she credited $10 off of the service which was nice. I had a 1pm appointment and did not sit in the chair until 2:05pm. However the stylist picked up a dirty comb that she used on the previous client and put it in my hair. I asked her nicely was it a clean comb she replied no . I kindly reminded her she needs to sanitize the combs and brushes before putting them in someone's head . She started braiding my hair and 17 minutes later she told me she was going to take a lunch break. At this point i could not believe what i was hearing. I waited 20 minutes then complained to the owner words was exchanged in there language and the stylist came back with an attitude. She mumbled something underneath her breath i then asked her was she speaking to me? She replied in a smart response was i supposed to be talking to you. At this point i told her to stop and i would take my business else were and if thats not bad she wanted to cut my braids out. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy totally unorganized, unprofessional, not clean establishment lousy customer service. Terrible customer service let me start there. The lady that did my hair came in sick ... SUPER unprofessional. I got a crochet from them and the braids underneath were sloppy asf. Also you can see the braids under the crochet, mind you they're hella big and not even my hair color so it's hella noticeable. Then they had a problem braiding my hair because "it was too short".... every other braiding shop I went to didn't have this problem. And it's quite ironic I got sick two days after that. The lady had a mask on and I did too but still she kept coughing and sneezing without covering while doing my hair. If you're sick DON'T COME INTO WORK. "NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!" I really was looking to support black owned and local businesses and honestly after attempting this place twice now I think I will pass on a third time. My first appointment I requested Kadi does my hair on the website when I arrived the women who I later found to be Eva ended up doing my hair. Eva told me she was Kadi which ended up being a lie because Kadi had arrived midway through my appointment as she was out on maternity leave. I never said anything but I notice everything even when I don't speak on it. I let her finish up and thought she did a decent job. I scheduled a second appointment with the intention of having Eva do my hair. I left a note in the comment section requesting Eva or Kadi I even called a week before my appointment and said " Hi I have an appointment and just wanted to make sure Eva or Kadi was indeed doing my hair" The women then says oh yeah I am aware yes she will be doing your hair and I specifically said let me know if she can't. I show up for my appointment 20min early and see Eva with a client in her chair she's almost halfway done with her hair. She says hi she'll be here soon I said who? Then she said Bettie I then say Bettie isn't doing my hair you're suppose to be doing it. I said can Bettie do the hairstyle I am requesting?! Me and almost every client that walked in waited to get our hair started on for a hr minimums. She then calls her daughter to help this then speeds the process up. At this point I sat and waited for a little over an hr to get my hair started on. That in itself is super inconvenient I scheduled my appointment for a particular time to be done at a particular time. So here we are doing my hair Eva is halfway done with my hair then out of nowhere she says "I'll be back, I have to go to an appointment in OAKLAND" I said huh no way I'm waiting to get my hair finished she says "Yeah I have to go". Eva and Kadi are both speaking in Their language I hear Eva yelling. A smart person would understand she's pretty much saying I'm leaving so you can finish her hair. Kadi (owner) then basically finished my hair but even she had a slight attitude about the situation which it's not my fault I'm a paying customer what I'm asking shouldn't be viewed as annoying. I can easily take my money elsewhere. Then next to me another women comes in she was waiting as long as it took for Eva to come back from her appointment. Kadi was going to start this women's hair. Eva comes back and starts helping her daughter do the remaining braid down for my hair. Kadi then comes over and says something to Eva in their language but it's in a yelling effect. Then Eva starts doing the women's hair who was waiting in Kadi's chair. So basically I believe it was a situation where she's like I had to finish up your work now you can do her hair now. I will say this Kadi is by far the best braider there she actually did a great job on what she finished the problem is 9/10 times she might not be doing your hair. If you're a new person you might not know who Kadi is and end up with someone who can't do the specific hairstyle you requested which I observed while getting my hair done. If you don't value your time go for it. If you don't mind not getting the stylist requested go for it. If you want people to try and force the hairstyle they think you should get go for it. If you want liars and deceitful stylist go for it. If you want someone who is telling you the simplest thing is unachievable go for it. But all I do know is I won't be back and just wanted to share my experience for those considering this place you're better off going to a braider's house or have them come to you before having this extremely UNPROFESSIONAL business do your hair. My two experiences with Kadi's braids have been wonderful. I have an auto-immune deficiency which has caused alopecia in several areas of my hair. While I am nowhere near bald, I do require that certain areas be concealed. Kadi's staff was able to braid my hair an a way that completely covered my spots. I scheduled my appointment three weeks ahead so that I could take that day off work to get my hair done. They have canceled on me twice the day before my appointment.
