I'd like to consider myself an unofficial hair stylist and I seek stylists who pay attention to detail. I've visited this shop twice now. The first time, a couple months ago, I got Marley braids by Kadi and she did exactly what I asked of her and did an amazing job. This time I came for box braids and it was done by another braider in the shop that, again, was careful to give me the look I wanted and did an excellent job. Braids are consistent and neat! Terriable experience my appointment was at 2pm she started my hair two hours later,when she started my hair she tried to give me the shortest hair they had but I spoke up and she got hair a little longer than what she going was to use,while beginning my hair she was very very rough she was rushing my hair it is beginning to look bad 2 days later even though I rap it at night.She still made me pay full price even after being 2 hours late and made me pay an extra $20 because I got the hair a little longer.I will never go back there and if you don't have too don't you'll be disappointed don't let the good pictures they have fool you. read more

I tried to understand what she was talking about as far as circle parts I had never heard of that and because I kept asking "huh" & "what is that" she assumed I was giving her attitude..my thing is why does that honestly matter?? I wasn't being hostile I wasnt cursing I wasnt doing anything other than asking question regarding my style preference the hair that would be used and the length it would be. I've been going to Kadi now for over a year I only go to her to get my braids done. She never makes my braids too tight & always talks with me about exactly what I want. I love that because I've gone to braiders in the past that haven't listened to me and I end up taking them down cause I didn't get what I wanted. I just got my hair done for the first time, and I LOVE it!! They're so nice and welcoming. I love how my hair came out, the lady who did my hair made sure I was satisfied with it through out the process. They have hair that you can choose from but of course it's extra. However, I think it's worth it! It's only $6 a pack which is about the same as anywhere, and they help you match your color. I'll be booking my next appointment soon! read more

Terrible terrible customer service. And be careful when making your appointment. You make you apt on their ig page assuming you will get KD the owner. And you get someone else who does NOT know how to braid as well or execute the styles asked for. This was my second time trying them out. The first time I got two braids. How could you fail that right I am very picky when it comes to my hair and for that reason I don't mind paying to be satisfied. First she told me the two braids was going to be $50 then up charges me $5 dollars forgetting wha she had already told me. No big deal. Someone else braided my hair so my two braid look very regular and NOTHING like the picture I showed. I didn't want to argue and was taking my son on vacation and the braids weren't that bad so left it alone. Fast forward to the lemonade style I asked for and didn't get and was treated as if I was wrong for wanting my hair done right after paying $200 plus 20% tip. KD again put me off on another braided and almost forgot I had an appointment at 10am which she was 30 min late for and still didn't start on my head till bout 11am I showed the pictures of how I wanted my hair. When the five braids were done on the side I notice it didn't look like the picture so I mentioned it. KD reply was "she's not the one that did those braids so it's not going to come out the same" I get that however it was as simple as parting my hair correctly coming from someone that does hair. Which KD Also was RUDE and said because I don't braid I don't know. No my hair looked a hot mess. Even after she redid the side over it still does not look like the picture. I still left her shop spending my hard earned single mother money unsatisfied and actually hurt. They made it very awkward and spoke their language the entire time Over my head, yelling at me, saying I'm difficult ( I understood that on my own) lol KD made rude comments " what you want a discount" I never wanted a discount. I can never get my lemonade braids to come out cute I seen pictures of her shop and new KD could do it. I was wrong. I only wanted good customer service and what I paid for. And I got neither. this is my first yelp review ever I felt the need to get this out there. Too many people spend their money at theses shops and don't know how they are really be ran or how people are being treated. It's not ok. On top of that they made me late to all my other apts and was not able to Grab my last minute things before my trip because I didn't get out the chair till 8pm. As an owner KD should of jumped in to help her employees even if it was just to part my hair. So one me as the customer would be satisfied and two it won't make her shop look like they are false advertising the styles they are posting. Not everyone can do feedin braids and that's ok but it needs to be said. So now I may lose my edges and I'm not satisfied with my hair. I cried when I left not because of my hair but because of the way I was treated and how they made me feel. And I still paid. Gotta do better. read more

I text Kadi yesterday evening and within an hour got a response. I was very glad she was able to take me in the next day for singles. She started on time and it took a little over 4 hours with her and another stylist braiding my hair. They are very quick. She very welcoming and made the time go by super fast. Most importantly her price was very reasonable and the quality of her work was great. I would like to update my review. Kati braided my hair in single last Thursday literally 7 days later my natural hair is coming out the braids. A waste of $200. I'm pretty new to CA and have been wanting to get my hair braided for some time. As I will be out of town for a while, I decided to look for a braider. I was recommended to a few in Oakland, however, I didn't want to travel on BART late at night by myself. I googled Braiders closer to where I'm located and found Kadi on this site. She had mostly great reviews and I loved that the other ladies said she was fast. I emailed her and received a response very quickly. We set the date and time. I arrived early as I didn't know exactly where she was located and didn't want to get lost and then be late for my appointment. When I arrived I was greeted immediately by Kadi and was assured I would be taken care of soon. I had my hair done by Beatrice. She didn't speak much english but she was very sweet. Kadi and the other ladies were very nice and constantly engaged me in their conversations. Her customers were also very nice and seemed to be very big fans. The only down side is that the space is very tight as the building is shared with another salon. Beatrice finished braiding my hair in about 5 hours and spent the rest of the time trimming, sealing and making sure all of the hair were braided down. She did an excellent job and my hair looks FABULOUS! I will most definitely be going back! read more

Kadi is an excellent braider but if you're getting Senegalese twists, suggest you request her or her mother as the finished product isn't consistent with her " helpers ". The last time , she overbooked and asked to squeeze in a client for a 30 minutes job that was over 1.5 hours . She lied and took 15 bucks off for cost of Hair but wanted $180 for Senegalese twists that were twice as big as I normally get. She told me the size was fine , funny she gets to cheat me out my service , missed an opportunity to work over at my job and get an event in because a 5 hour job turned into 9 hours . Then she asked me to give one of the ladies a ride , I did out of kindness and texted her about my experience. She only said sorry and the size is fine . Don't go on Fridays and Demand service by her or her mom . They are nice ladies but lack consistency and skill with labor intensive styles , get the owner for a better chance for a good finished product. read more
