This was our dining choice before a concert that was Downtown. The experience was great. We had to RSVP in advance because we had a party of 8. They had everything set up nicely when we arrived. The service was really good, the ambiance was great. I loved the calming vibe with a touch of various genres of music playing softly in the background. On to the food! Everything that we tried that day was flavor packed. We had the calamari, meatballs, and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. For dinner, I went with the lasagna and I am glad I did. It was just the right portion and packed with ingredients including meat sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan. Let me also mention that we went during Happy Hour, so we were able to take advantage of some of the drink specials. Great restaurant! This was my first time visiting this restaurant. It was quite charming. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our seat was in line of the Air Conditioner, so it was a bit chilly. But not too bad. The outdoor seating was completely full. Sitting street side would have been nice. The weather was amazing that night. We started with the happy hour appetizers. My expectations for this place were out of this world: my son and wife ate here two nights in a row when they came to visit University of Tennessee Medical School.... They both proclaimed it to be the best Italian food they have ever eaten, and my wife is half Italian!!!!! Like holy crap, right??? For me, it was pretty good .... The house salad was my favorite part of the meal. I had the spaghetti marinara and the sauce had some heat in it that took away from the flavor. They both loved the vodka rigatoni, and the chicken Parm..... Tiny and homey inside. Can be very loud if you were in the wrong part of the restaurant. We lucked out and had one of the very few booths. My son says it cheapens a restaurant to give out free bread, but I would've appreciated some bread to eat with my salad ..... Did an order for takeout and was very easy Order the garlic bread which is fantastic! Lots of flavor and very big portions. Then order the meatballs which comes with 3. Which are pretty decent size and again the marinara was flavorful. Lastly we got the vodka rigatoni which was amazing- however im not a huge fan of spicy foods and it does have chili flakes. The side order of penne it came either was incredibly overcooked and soft. We got 2 orders of penne Alla vodka, one with added buffalo mozzarella, one regular. Delightfully cute place on the island. All of the employees were friendly, and we were greeted with kindness and hospitality at entry. We made a reservation for our party and table was ready at arrival-- must call for parties 5 or more. Our server, Cici, went above and beyond with suggestions and service. The expansive menu options made it hard to pick, so we all ordered something different to share a fork bite. For the main, we ordered the lasagna, rigatoni, and tortellini. My colleagues and I had a reservation at Cocozza for an important recruitment dinner. We were hosting a professional candidate we are trying to bring to Memphis and wanted to provide a great experience. I want to be fair: the food was quite good, and our waitress provided excellent, attentive service. However, the positive aspects were completely negated by the hostess. After we had been at our table for an hour and 45 minutes, she approached us and stated we needed to leave because another party had a reservation for our table. This was shocking, not only because we also had a reservation, but because there were other empty tables visible. When we left, there was no one waiting to be seated. The experience was professionally embarrassing and personally insulting. To be treated like an inconvenience in front of a candidate is unacceptable. As a diverse group, the interaction also left us with the distinct and uncomfortable feeling that we had been singled out. Because of the hostess's unprofessionalism and the disrespectful way we were treated, we will not return. We cannot recommend a restaurant that treats its guests this way and will be advising our colleagues and friends accordingly. read more

Like she was surprised we were there and once we verified with them that we had a reservation, and another person showing interest in us, her whole demeanor changed. As for the establishment itself, would recommend sitting outside due to the light breeze and ambiance but be mindful of mosquitoes. Our party ordered mozzarella sticks and calamari as appetizers for the table and few with arugula and Caesar salad. I ordered the vodka rigatoni, add meatballs and the grapefruit Paloma spritzer (non-alcoholic). The calamari was delicious and everything else was good, nothing much to say about it. Our waitress was amazing and attentive to our party of 6. Consistently checked up on us and made sure our drinks were never empty. I wanted to try this place when they were trialing at Majestic, but finally got out to Harbor Town to try their new B&M. It's not a cheap visit so just beware if you're dining on a budget. Everything we had was good. The food is what you'd find at most Italian restaurants. It was my favorite experience in Memphis so far. In fairness, I do not eat pasta so I can't give you a rating there. But the veal was great, piccata delicious, show stopper? Those damn cannolis. My word were they good. Wine list is small, but they pack a punch. The Orin Swift Locations was very good. It's the old Move & a Pizza so it's a small space, but a nice setup. It gives you the mom & pop vibe. Honestly? It was missing some tunes, classical italian music, imo. Service was fine. Drinks took a minute, but food was quick to arrive and waiter was attentive. Met my expectations. My girlfriends decided to spend our ladies' night at Cocozza for Downtown Dining Week. One friend ordered an antipasto appetizer to get us started and the flavors were very tasty as they ranged from salty to spicy. The appetizer that was part of the prix fixe menu had a nice warm sauce and tangy flavors with an ample amount of mushrooms and sausage. I was impressed by the presentation of the eggplant rollatini and even more so about the texture and filling. The pumpkin cannoli was a great way to tie together the whole meal. The cream filling was just the right balance of sweet to pair with the pastry. Additionally, the lemon spritzer was refreshing and effervescent with the right combination of punch and tang. We had one night in Memphis and came here on a Friday night for dinner after finding a post on Instagram. We made sure to make a reservation though and I'm glad we did because it was packed! There's not a great deal of seating but you're sitting pretty close to other people as I imagine it would be at an actual Italian restaurant in Italy. The server was great and made sure we got any questions answered about the menu. We ordered calamari to start and it was delicious. I loved it with the white sauce it came with. As my entree, I ordered the baked lasagna and then ordered garlic bread because there was so much delicious marinara sauce that came on the plate that I didn't want to leave any of it behind! I have never left a negative review for a restaurant, but in light of what happened last night when I entered this restaurant (at 5:15 pm), I feel compelled to. My friend and I had made an early reservation hoping for a quiet dinner. When we entered, there was one large party sitting at four tables, but otherwise the restaurant was almost empty. For some reason, the hostess put us at the table that joined the large party. We asked to be put at a table that didn't make us a part of their group. She asked if we wanted the bar. We declined saying we wanted a table and waved a hand at the near empty restaurant. She proceeded to put us at another table which was right next to the only other people in the restaurant. By this time, we were annoyed and asked if we could sit one table over, and she said "what about the bar?" -- at this point, my friend said "Let's just go somewhere else." When the hostess heard that, she said "Ok, you can have this table." We left. There are lots of great places to eat in Memphis. This kind of service (lack of) is enough for me to never try this place again. read more

The restaurant has a really cute ambiance. It's decorated to feel old school but is really cute and cozy. Our server, Mackenzie, was really great. She was friendly and helpful. Food was divine. We got the toasted ravioli, lemon basil spirit free drinks, chicken Marsala, rigatoni with vodka sauce, and Caesar salad. I originally ordered the sausage rigatoni, and it was not to my taste. It had a pile of broccoli rabe that permeated every bite. If you like broccoli rabe, you'd love it, but I don't. The manager was super understanding and got me something else - the rigatoni with vodka sauce - very quickly. That dish was delicious; the sauce was similar to an arrabiatta and had quite a bit of spice. It was delicious and creamy and I highly recommend it. My mom loved her chicken Marsala and the side of pasta it came with had delicious red sauce. The lemon basil drink was refreshing and extremely basil-heavy. The Caesar salad was delightfully crisp and lemony. I only wish they offered the toasted ravioli in a larger portion; it was decadent. I don't live anywhere near here, but if I did, I'd be back. read more
