He couldn't be coaxed out of sitting in the hallway and watched the class from under some chairs until he decided that it was just too much for him at the time. Coach Kyle found out that he had such a negative experience and reached out to me and offered for him to come in again so that he could show him a more positive experience. To say he had a blast would be an understatement. Having a one on one class was a total night and day experience. He was climbing, flipping and vaulting on the equipment from the minute we walked into the gym. Coach Kyle was patient and encouraging and showed him how to properly and safely use the equipment. My son left having had a fabulous time and got a great workout with a huge boost to his confidence. He is fearless and an adrenaline seeker so Parkour is something that he really enjoys and shows an aptitude for. We will continue with one on one classes for the time being and hopefully at some point he can move into a group class but if we need to stay in one on ones, that's totally fine by us as well. It can be tough trying new activities for autistic/neurodivergent kids and I'm really glad that we gave MoveFree Academy a second chance. I would recommend if your child is on the timid side or easily overwhelmed, to start off with a one on one or semi private class to get comfortable before jumping into one of the larger group classes.

The teachers are very positive and great with the kids. My kids had a blast and were very sad we were moving out of state and wouldn't be able to attend anymore. Kids learned so much in that year about parkour, self awareness, mindfulness and teamwork. You won't be disappointed by this place.

My kids have gone to this camp for the past six years, to the day camp and the resident/sleep-over camp every summer. We appreciate the close proximity of the camp to our home yet how it feels so rustic and so far away. Even the air smells fresher here! It's situated on a mountain and on a lake (Lake Langlois), and the mess hall is the most beautiful mess hall I have ever seen! The view of the sparkling lake below is beautiful! The cabins for the younger kids are quite "posh" (nice bunk beds, indoor bathrooms and showers, decks with firepits to make 'smores by at night). The accommodations for the older kids are a little more rustic, depending on which program they're in (there are covered wagons, open-air cabins, and regular cabins, all with more remote bathroom facilities). We like how the staff emphasizes safety and friendship and embraces the Girl Scout values (girl-empowering). We like how the staff is composed of older Girl Scouts from around the world who come here to be counselors each summer. My kids have learned a lot about other countries and other cultures from their counselors, and it helps that many of them return year after year. The activities and crafts and songs are always fun for the kids, and we like how there are a lot of physical activities each day, too. For those of us with young girls, we really like how the camp is composed solely of girls and women. I've been to a ton of camps when I was a kid, and this is one of the nicest I've seen. What's great, too: if you have a younger kid, there are short-stay programs (2-3 days) that are a great first introduction to resident camp for young 'uns. If you opt to try the day camp, I've learned that the bus transportation is a big part of the daily fun, so we don't drive the kids ourselves to camp daily; they learn songs on the bus, do a few little crafts, and most importantly, get the opportunity to make friends and socialize there. Sadly, my kids are getting a tad old for RR. I'm hoping that they want to go there one more summer, as we (their parents) love it!
