I have been going here for a few years now when things went out. I now have a much better idea to how they handle business and customer service. In short I recommend you find another shop like I'm going to do. They are borderline dishonest - after quoting one deal and agreeing to a price they added in a $36 "o-ring" at the end and will not offer help or support when parts they worked on start leaking. This shop is eager to give you the bills all usually around $500 and they know that you'll be back for the next part. No car repair is a perfect process but their attitude and customer service does not lead you to trust them and their method of doing business. I took my car in to have coolant work done - first time around was $500 then something else started leaking and went back for another $600 work order then one of the hoses connected the brand new part they replaced is leaking and they brought up another issue for another $450 repair. It is understandable when things get old but when they worked on a brand new part and the connection to that led to a problem something was up. They flat out don't care - just approve the next $500+ worth of work. As a consumer you don't always understand car issues - these guys are not the ones to take you through the problems and really "own" the service they provide. They are order takers and borderline dishonest ones at that. The previous visit as I was paying and talking about the issues that have been happening one of their technicians enthusiastically told me that my type of car has an engine that will fail and has failed on most all of the cars out there. Well isn't that nice to hear. With no proof, he just feels that in his professional opinion that it could happen. Lovely. Just what you want from your local mechanic shop. You can go here for sure and they will work on the areas that need it but they are not in this to help you out. read more

I took my car in to get my brakes checked. I ended up getting new front brake pads and new front rotors for my car. (Probably just needed new pads and not rotors) After driving it home, I noticed that it just didn't feel right and thought to myself that it must be because it was new. The next day when I drove the car, i started hearing scratching noise every time i pressed on the brakes. It was really bad and I thought my brakes were going to fail. I was going to to take it back to Brake Master but they were closed on Sundays so I took it to another shop that was opened. It turned out that Brake Master forgot to screw in the bolt in the back of one of the calipers and that was the reason for the noise. Basically the caliper was hanging and rubbing the inside of the wheels. My right wheel is now damaged from the caliper rubbing. I got a new bolt which fixed the issue. I took the car back to Brake Master and explained to them what happened. The manager offered to pay for the bill from the other shop and a free oil change. The damage on the wheel was not noticeable unless you look closely. Thanks goodness I brought it in right away to get the issue fixed. I would not recommend this place for the horrible experience I had. Thank goodness no one got hurt from this brake job. This was the first and probably the last time I will come back to any Brake Master. If your name is called "Brake Master" wouldn't it be the service that your perform the best at? Forgetting to put on a bolt on the caliper is inexcusable especially because the caliper is so important to the brake's functionality. I will try to spam all social media about my bad experience at Brake Master. read more

These People are the Rudest A**holes ever. First off after Charging close to $600 worth of work, then broke my car. My Brake pedal was almost to the floor, and they told me it was my back brakes. They adjusted the back brakes and there was NO CHANGE in pedal height. They striped 4 bolts on the "Upper Oil Pan" (engine). They do not even stand behind they're work. I took my car to another mechanic and I was told it was the Brake Power Booster. I got it replaced CORRECTLY and now my brakes work great (not thanks to these A**HOLES!) read more

I decided last minute to join a friend in Vegas this weekend and since it's last minute I'm driving. My car has a slight oil leak that I needed to have checked out, but today I just time for a quick oil change. I explained my situation and they recommended an appointment and express oil change. $20 for the oil change WITHOUT A COUPON. For the price alone I'd return, but they did so much better. I had been to Brake Masters before, but never this location. David was working at the front desk. He was very polite, was working the entire time (not the case at other quick lube places), and even shook my hand. They did the job in less than the promised 30 minutes and had me out of there in time. No up sell, no pressure. I'm excited to bring my car back to fix the oil leak and I'll update review then. read more

I've been going to Brakemaster for an oil change eversince my first car in hs. In the past what attracted me to this place are the coupons available in the coupon clippings section in the Sunday paper. The coupon is for $19.95 with tire rotation and brake check or something. Maybe because of habit, I still go to Brakemasters sans coupon since I ask for synthetic oil for my oil change, I am able to go without an oil change up to 10k miles with synthetic compared to 5k with regular. What I like about this location is that it's not as busy in comparison to its location on dobson. PIus it's newer. So it's a short wait, a larger garage, and, why i really like Brakemasters is its free wi-fi. So no need to wait for oil change skimming through magazines, now I can still be connected to the world, either on yelp or facebook... YAY! I usually go for the deluxe oil change package that is, they top off and replace all fluids, check, and rotate my tires, and do my oil change. Brakemasters also repairs cars and does ac cleanings and the sort. Not once have I had a problem with my cars when they've done work on it. So, if you see a brakemasters and need an oil change, you should stop by! read more

I took my 4Runner into Break Masters several months ago to get my breaks done and a couple of other items at the same time. when I went to get my tires changed out at my tire dealer, they could not remove one of the tires because the bolts and post were seated wrong, which I was told does happen from time to time. I took my car back to Break Masters and they corrected the issue right away at no charge. Matt was my mechanic and Lori was at the front desk coordinating everything. I brought the car back the next day with a dust plate out of alignment, and again they took care of me. That is the type of customer service that makes you want to go back. Thanks guys. read more

I always get my oil changed at this Brake Masters. As others have pointed out, no upsell, honest mechanics and a clean facility. The last time I went in for my oil change, I needed a new cabin filter and the guys even told me that it would be way cheaper to go to autozone and do it myself, then proceeded to show me where it was so I could do it when I got home. I would not use a shop like this to do major repairs, but for any simple flushes it is perfect. I went here on 12/7/11 and got a brake fluid flush for $29.99 after coupon. Best price anywhere. Rob was very nice and did not ever try to upsell me on anything. I was in an out in about 30 minutes. Great service. For real auto repairs I'd probably use a mechanic shop. These guy are crooks! They told us we had a majorly rusty disk brake conversion kit in need of complete replacement, and with labor and parts it would cost about $700! Also told us not to drive it until we got it fixed because they had disturbed the surface to remove the rust and this would rip up the brake pads. This turned out to be complete bologna!!! I took it to a more trusted place and they told me that there was no rust and disk brakes were in great shape, brake pads at 80% and to top it off the truck came standard with disk brakes...there was no conversion kit in the first place. My recently drove through some mud in my truck. Immediately after that i had the worst squealing sound coming from my right front tire. I had know idea what could be making the noise because visually you couldn't see anything. I stopped in right before they were closing. The staff was incredibly nice and said they would take care of me. Less then 5 minutes later i was back on the road with absolutely no squealing and they did it at no cost. I will definitely be taking my truck back here in the future with any other issues. read more

My experience with all mechanics/brake shops/dealer service centers has always been that you go in for 1 thing and by the end of the day you've practically upgraded the whole car! That is not the case with this Brake Masters. I went in for what I thought would be a simple fix and it was. I have had the worst car repair experience of my life over the last two weeks with Brake Masters Store #209 off Germann Road in Chandler. I went in to the location with a mis-fire on my Honda Accord. The manager informed me it needed a new ignition coil and new spark plugs. I was able to get the parts a little cheaper at the local Autozone but had Brake Masters install the parts. When I picked up the vehicle the issue was not resolved. The check engine light was still on and when it took it back to Autozone it was the same issue. I took my car back to Brake Masters. They said I need a valve adjustment for $360 and said they fixed the initial issue and the car was running fine. Today I had an actual reputable mechanic fix my car, it was a bad fuel injector. The issue is fixed. It is clear the technicians and managers lied about fixing the issue and wanted to milk more money out of me. I am absolutely appalled. I cannot believe the service I have been provided and lack of ownership of Brake Masters for misdiagnosing the issue. Everyone I have spoke with was condescending and argumentative. No one ever apologized or shown any level of customer service. read more

horrible horrible horrible. Have been going to them for a few years to get engine oil changed. This time I needed transmission oil changed which was maybe a little more work(and $) anyhow noticed today that the splash guard under the car was flapping around. in looking closer, instead of taking the plastic retainer clips off, they simply broke the guard on both sides to get access to the transmission oil plug. It would have taken a few minutes more to take the clips off as they are intended to come off. And to think that I will take the car back for their other suggested services, I think NOT. Time to find another nice oil change shop. Soo disappointed that a company like this would have technicians who would do this to someones car. really have no words except this review to warn others of what to expect from this company disappointed Chandler Acura owner. read more

The summer of 2019 we took our 2006 Honda Pilot to Brake Masters, store 209 to have the a/c fixed. The blow motor was replaced and the a/c seemed to work well but within a few weeks it only blew warm air and eventually stopped all together. As winter approached and the temperatures dropped, getting the a/c on our Pilot looked at again dropped on the priority list. In the meantime the a/c of our 2010 Honda CRV stopped working after having been repaired by this same store. I took the day off work to take the CRV back into Brake Masters. Within an hour they called to let me know that the part they had replaced was good but the hose leading to the part had leaks and the freon had leaked out. They could replace the part but unfortunately it was not possible to get after market parts and the whole repair (including parts and labor) would cost close to $500. I said, "no thank you" and took the CRV elsewhere. They were able to get after market parts and the repair cost $200 less. Hmmmmm. Fast forward to today. We take our Pilot to Break Masters to check what is wrong with the a/c. After a few hours they call to say that the blow motor that they had replaced last summer (still under warranty) was melted to the blow motor transistor. To fix they would have to replace both parts but the motor falls under the warranty so it will cost $249. Again they say they are not able to get this part as an after market part. My husband reluctantly agrees, figuring only having to pay for one part as opposed to two would be the smarter choice. Hours later they call saying the Pilot is ready. We drive there and my husband goes in. They hand him a bill for $424.80 When he questions they tell him the quote was only for the part. When he lets Andrew, the store manager, know this is not what was quoted Andrew proceeds to tell my husband that he must have misunderstood him (Andrew) and that was "on him" (my husband). Really? Great way to speak to a customer. My husband pays the bill and gets in the Pilot to drive home. When he turns the car on guess what? It only blowing hot air. He goes back in and says to Andrew, "Hey, its not working." Andrews tells him that checking the a/c was not included. Then with pressure from my husband he agrees to have it looked at for "free". About 20 minutes later he comes back and says that the compressor is not working And gives him a quote for $884.87. Andrew assures my husband that labor costs would be highly discounted for only $280 dollars. This quote also states, "does not include refrigerant recovery or evacuate & recharge AC system. Then Andrew asks if we'd like an appointment. My husband asked for the melted parts. They gave him the transistor (nothing appears in the least bit melted) but stated they needed to have the replaced blow motor for the warranty. When my husband asked why the part cost $250 but at the auto part store (off market) cost much less Andrew reluctantly looked up on line and showed my husband a part that looked nothing like the "melted" one he had given him. When my husband pointed out his lie about not being available as an after market part he ignored him and talked over the question. Andrew handed the keys back to my husband and he walked out. Needless to say we will never go back to this location. The prices are ridiculous and anything but clear and consistent but the level of dishonesty, deception and total lack of pride in delivering a half way decent, reliable product is the most troubling. If it had been up to me I would have stopped payment but my husband doesn't want to be bothered nor spend any more time with Brake Masters and I guess that is what this particular store counts on. So very disappointing! read more

This shop, and Kent, are my new go to place for repairs on all our vehicles!!!! Mgmt changed at shop I had used for 14 years and felt I was grossly overcharged. After getting a few estimates at different shops, I contacted Brake Masters for the brake portion of my repair. Not only were they cheaper, they were also able to replace my struts significantly cheaper as well. I was out of town and needed my car for road trip through mountains on my return. They were quick, I was able to pay over the phone and most importantly, within 2 minutes of driving my car, I noticed the difference!!! It drove like a dream!!!! If your car needs several things repaired, they even tell you which problems are most imperative and can keep your car from further damage and which repairs you still have some time before you need to have them repaired or replaced. I went here just 4 months ago to get my brakes fixed, needed everything re-done. Just for the front brakes only. They charged me $500 for just the front only. Brakes started grinding and car started vibrating just shortly after, decided to let someone else take a look at it. Turns out they didn't do ANYTHING! They never even changed them! My guess is put on some cheap pads to last me a couple months. I had to pay again to get them refixed and was told $500 was ridiculously overpriced, for just two brakes on the front. I needed them changed immediately or else I could have been in an accident! They scammed me, over charged me.. and didn't even change my brakes. Do not take your car here! read more

I recently took my truck in to get the front brakes done as i had no time or tools to do them my self and after all the work was done looked it over and noticed that my driver side brake line was twisted and completely out of place so i had to take the caliper off my self and spin the caliper around to fix it then we go to the other side and the line was routed completely in the wrong direction they even bent the bracket down.... who knows why and tighten the line facing down when it's supposed to be facing up so now i have to take the line off bend the bracket up and re bleed the line read more

Last week when I was in there the normal mgrs were not there and the "new guy" was cocky, rude and unprofessional. I asked where the mgr Steve was at and he said to me, "not sure why that matters". HAve been to this location before for flushes, etc and had no problems. However, after failing a smog test, I drover over here bc its close by. I wanted them to check codes and let me know what was wrong. About 5 hours later, they called to tell me that my ECM (car computer) and fuel pump were bad, and that there was probably going to be even more repairs needed once they got into it. My quote for the 2 things was $1600, and anything else they found was going to be more. I went next morning, picked up my car and paid my $90 diagnosis fee. I took the car to my regular mechanic who checked everything and the only thing that was wrong with the car was a burned out check engine light bulb. Fuel pump was perfect, ECM working perfectly. He told me that there were old codes that hadn't been cleared, and once he cleared them, the CEL went off. Went back to smog station next day, and passed with no issues. So, if you need your tranny fluid changed, this place might be ok. For real engine issues, go to a real mechanic. These guys are throwing darts at the problem and charging you for it. At the very least, get a second opinion before you green light any engine repairs. read more

WARNING DONT GO TO THIS SHOP. This is literally THE WORST car shop I have been to. (I would give negative stars but yelp doesn't allow that) I went in yesterday for a very simple total oil change. They do the oil, filter, tire rotation, top off fluids, etc. instead of the express where it's just the oil and filter. I had a stripped drain plug when they went back after the oil change, which meant I needed a new one. Totally fine. They didn't have the part, so the front desk guy went over to their closet shop to get another. Perfect, convenient, thanks for doing that for me. BUT NO. Instead of getting the right size they tried to use a size bigger, crammed it into the drain hole, and ended up cracking the entire oil pan. I found this out the next morning when I woke up to low oil and oil all over my front drive. Now, I called and told them and took it in. They inspected my car and found in fact, the tech did crack my oil pan and they would have to cover all costs to fix that and give me another oil change. Took them about an hour to figure that out. Told me it would take about 3 hours to get the pan, replace all the parts, and put in new oil. IT ACTUALLY took 5 and a half hours. No regard for the fact that they told me it would be three and I had plenty of other things to get done today. I called three times during the day and no one could tell me a real estimate, no one could tell me why it was taking so much longer. Not only was it a bad oil change and they have bad techs not paying attention, they gave me estimates for brake replacements that I absolutely do not need, and told me I was 5k miles over replacing my timing belts (not a small job) when in fact I was 5k UNDER and still had time to worry about getting it done. They were trying to hassle me out of my money and do a shotty job (because I'm a young women "who doesn't know better"). Absolutely worst shop I have been to for what I thought was going to be an easy, 45 minute oil change. Save your time, worry, and money and DO NOT GO HERE. read more
