This was probably my last visit here. I've been coming to Sun Devil for a while, but after my last few experiences, I think it's time to move on. The guy at the counter on Saturday was flat out rude. I understand nobody loves working weekends, but that's not something a paying customer should have to deal with. The bigger issue is the work itself. I brought my wife's car in for a simple oil change and when I got home it was leaking oil. That had never happened before. A few days later the check engine light came on. Two issues back to back on a car that had none before that visit. Another time I brought my truck in and had to turn around and come back 30 minutes later. And now, less than a week after my most recent visit, the check engine light just came on my truck. Every time I bring a vehicle here, something follows me home. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and that all seem to go right service was good. Nothing wrong there. Decided to go ahead and schedule the transmission. Get the filter and fluid changed out. I Set up an appointment for 7am and made it clear I would be waiting for the vehicle. They didn't give any indication that would be a problem. When I got there for the appointment they informed me their techs weren't even here yet and the part they need to do the transmission filter was not there either. And apparently they keep the truck for the day because they don't schedule appointments for transmission work . I planned my workday so I would be done by 10 at the latest. I was not happy about this and made it quite clear to them. The service counter employee asked me to leave because he could tell I was upset. so I did and I will never be back. I called their corporate office and nobody bothered to call me back either. Follow up: manager contacted me and apologized for what happened. He was extremely helpful and asked me to give them a second chance. I did and everything went great. They will be getting my business in the future. Very professional. I called and talked to Eli he was great from start to finish, the whole staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I was told they could get It done in about 3 hours, I had a coolant leak issue and they had the issue found in about 15-20 minutes. We were back on the road within 3 hours and 15 minutes as they estimated. The thermostat housing was leaking, they flushed my radiator, and did and oil change. Made me feel safe and other at restaurants and local store recommended them. Please review them so we keep them as one of the best auto repair places in Arizona. Brought my 2009 Camry to this shop with a check engine light, prior to I had connected my scanner and gave me a code P0356 (ignition coil F primary secondary circuit) so I was already aware that cilíndrelo 6 coil needed to be replaced. I arrive at the shop at 7:00 am an a very rude representative by the name of Marcus with a bad attitude told me I don't know what I am talking about that the code my scanner was reading was for something else. I related my daughter drives drives the vehicle and I will appreciate if I get the vehicle back by noon. A few hours later call me and related what I already knew. Marcus related it will cost me $285 for the coil alone told me it is a Denso brand OEM. Since he knew I really needed the vehicle as it belongs to my daughter she goes to school in Flagstaff and she needed the vehicle asap. I gave him the green light, only to find out that the same part cost is less than $100. What a disappointment when Marcus called back stating there is another fault (code P0354) which is the same fault as before but for coil cylinder 4, To add insult to injurie Marcus related that it will be $199 just to troubleshoot the fault. I have dealt with this shop before after this experience I will never go back and will NOT RECOMMEND this shop to anyone. read more

Sun Devil Auto made sure to take care of me and made sure I was completely satisfied with the repair of my jeep renegade. I was hearing a grinding noise down by the clutch when I would push the clutch in to shift and when I took it to Sun Devil Auto, they first replaced my clutch saying it looked terrible and needed replacing. I got the car back and but I was hearing the same grinding noise. I had just paid more money than I had to replace the clutch and now it was going to cost more. Sun Devil Auto made sure they found the actual issue and didn't charge me any more to fix it. Turns out the engine mount or engine block needed replacing and that fixed it. I was happy that they fixed it and only charged me for the clutch service cause I easily could've paid a lot more had they charged me for the second service. Really bad service and deceptive practices, they ripped my girl off and refused to address or reimburse. She took her car to another auto shop after she left and her car died and had to ask for a jump. Apparently it was just just a battery issue which would have been no problem if this auto shop had not left her in the heat with no fixes to any issues in the car. The next auto shop she took it to said the hood had not been opened recently, she was charged for a bunch of things without getting the simple fix she needed, babes do not trust this shop! If I could give this place negative stars I would. I've given them a few chances with three different vehicles, but every experience has been bad. The location is very convenient, but the staff has been incredibly rude and I'm convinced they pull problems out of nowhere to up charge. First off, I do much of my own work, so I only go there for alignments because I don't have the equipment to do it myself. At the first mention of me doing the work myself, they talk down to me. They claim that my vehicles may never hold alignment because of my work. That's beyond rude. I had to return the first vehicle I had aligned 3 times until it rode better than it did before. The second vehicle had to be taken back a second time because of a crooked steering wheel (it was straight when I dropped it off). They also claimed my ball joints and control arms were worn out, despite having literally less than 20 miles on them. For the third, the alignment was spot on before I installed a 2" lift (done right w/ball joint spacers, diff drop, etc). Now they claim it'll take a minimum of $1700 worth of parts and labor to get it to maintain an alignment. I called bull and refused to have them do anything. My family and friends already knows to avoid Sun Devil Auto, I suggest you do, too. Edit: One week later, I've inspected everything that Sun Devil Auto said was wrong on my vehicle and had a second shop give their opinion, and there's nothing wrong. I'm not convinced they even put my vehicle on the lift. Complete BS. read more

I called Sun Devil Auto this morning with an complete understanding of my Jeep's Need, A tightened screw on my sway bar. I told them what the request was and they said, "come in in twenties minutes." Though the place was packed as normal, Mike had Lane come out and adjust the screw immediately and even added two Cottle pins to secure it when one broke as he was adjusting it (which could have been a HUGE problem). I went it after he was done to ask how much, and they smiled and said "no charge." As a business owner I know the value of a helping hand and so I had to write a review. Had taken my car for a leaky hose in my truck. The bottom hose of the radiator was old and needed to be replaced. I told them just to replace both top and bottom and a third one. Initial quote was twice that as the dealership. Called them and they stated, sorry I just tripled the labor when it should have been just once. Fine, easy mistake. Since I live near by and my truck has custom wheels, I told them I can take the truck home. They said it's fine, we will park it inside garage. This was Saturday morning and when I drove by place Sunday night, truck is parked outside. Wish they would have either did what they told me they would do or call me to take my truck home. There was a coupon in the mail I tried to use and they said no because they already gave me discount by taking the "three labor charges off'," a mistake their end. They fixed everything fine and my truck didn't get broken into but won't be back. I used them a couple of years ago and never had issues like this. read more

We don't use this Sun Devil repair place, we use the Sun Devil on Riggs Rd for minor stuff and oil changes but when my car literally broke down right in front of the Higley Rd shop I went ahead and used them!! HUGE MISTAKE!! They jack the parts pricing through the roof. I literally called the dealership for pricing so I had an idea of cost. ‍‍‍ Then I get the bill....totally blatant robbery. I've been going here for years with multiple vehicles, Mike is always very friendly and I didn't think I was having issues. Last time I got an oil change and tire rotation, they told me my brakes were essentially gone and I was missing a lug nut on a tire. Never had squeaking on the brakes until after I left the shop, and never noticed the missing lug nut. Upon getting home to change the brakes myself, I found that the "missing" lug nut was completely stripped and broken, and another one was stuck because it was also completely stripped. This shop is the only place that has ever touched my tires so I'm extremely disappointed that they've damaged my car. They also quoted me a pretty decent fee plus labor to replace the missing one when it seems clear to me that it's only gone because they damaged the part. I'll probably be going to the dealership for my future needs. read more

The price for a new alternator from an auto parts store that I called is $89! I am in shock of how much they quoted me! $1100.
