Well, I had a coupon and what I didn't like was that he's like well you know it's $129 for us to check your brakes and stuff and I'm like well that's not written on the receipt. Paid for an oil change, fluid top up and tire rotation. They did not even rotate my tires, I confirmed this with discount tire. I am 100% certain they did not rotate my tires because I had a single tire replaced since my last rotation, and when discount tire checked my tread, it was in the same exact spot. BOUGHT and PAID FOR an oil change from this location in Escondido through Groupon, the first time I made an appointment and came by the owner "EDdie" told me that he couldn't do the oil change because he needed two hours and the shop was closing in two hours. DO NOT GO HERE! This place is a scam. Dropped my truck off to get my brakes looked at. Charged me $90 and had it literally all day. I had to call him right before it closed to see what it was going on, and he still hadn't looked at it. Once it was ready he told me I needed to replace all 4 of my brakes, rotors, and calipers for about $3000. Dude never looked at my truck and tried to scam me. Needless to say I walked out and never came back. Later that month I replaced my tires and the problem fixed itself. This dude is a scumbag and I hope he gets what's coming to him. I had a Groupon for 3 oil changes. I've used 2 so far. The first oil change, the dipstick wasn't replaced correctly causing oil to spill over and a "burnt" smell in the vehicle. This was discovered at a visit to the dealership. When I mentioned it to the man upon returning to Brake Depot for my second oil change he didn't say anything just looked confused. Trust me. Don't go here. I printed out the coupon for brakes that promoted front or rear brake repair for $139.99. I present the coupon and I'm told that it was an error and should be $20 higher. And because I have a SUV, which I expected, it would be an additional $20. I didn't print the free brake inspection because I thought they would do it free anyway. I was wrong $79 but it would be included toward the cost of the brake job. Expecting to pay about $400, I left my car for the brake inspection. Two hours later I finally get an estimate of nearly $800. I asked if there rotors could be turned. I was told no, they were too far gone. I personally worked on my own brakes last time and I knew the rotors could be turned. I picked up my car and took it to another mechanic that replaced my brakes and turned the existing rotors. I've been going here for years to get my car serviced. Mostly it's for an oil change and occasionally a smog check every so often when I am asked by the DMV. Haha. There are coupons in the Penny Saver for services they offer and originally what sold my dad and I on going here was their oil change prices were much cheaper than surrounding competitors. I have never had anything less than wonderful for customer service, and my car still works wonderfully (it's more than 10 years old). Sometimes they ask if you want extra things to service your car, but it's to your discretion if you want to do them that day or another time (and research around for different prices). There's a bench outside the main office for when you want to sit and wait for your car to be done as well as a small waiting room adjacent to where all of the cars get worked on, and yes you can even watch them while they work. Open doors all around which makes it airy, and if it does rain outside at least you'll have some dry covering. When they get really busy it's hard to find a decent parking spot for your vehicle. Also it's at the corner of Washington and Broadway which happens to be well commuted everyday. They call you when everything is all done so if you get hungry, there are plenty of eateries right across the street. read more

I found a coupon for an oil change at a decent price (under $30)so I took my 2006 Nissan Altima in since I just bought it 2 days before and thought it would be a good idea, one of the reasons I bought the car was because it had an air conditioner, my son and I along with the man I bought it from tested the ac and it worked fine, the air was cool just NOT super cold. So I asked him if he could just add some Freon, he said no problem and to leave my car a few hours, 4 hours later he tells me he didn't fix the ac because a hose needs replaced and it would cost $240, I had just lost my job the day before I took it in so money was tight, so I said "well I guess I just have to pay for oil change then" He said no you owe me another sixty some dollars for AC service!! And the ac NOW does not work at ALL. MY car was in better shape when I brought it in than when I got it. NOT HAPPY and I wont be back! He also said my car was leaking oil and I have checked it everyday PLUS put cardboard under, it is NOT leaking oil AT ALL. so basically just for getting an oil change cost me around $87 PLUS now my ac does not work as well as it did when I brought it in! read more

If you are Capable of comprehending "How to" videos on YouTube then you should stay at home and do your brakes yourself... Or take your vehicle ANYWHERE ELSE. I purchased brake pads for the front end of my 2015 Tundra which only had 44k miles on it. After being Quoted 2 hours of work from many other shops including this one I made the horrendous mistake of letting Brake Stop work on my vehicle. 6 Hours later I returned to pick up my vehicle and paid 250 (ballpark) for this half ass job. Days later my truck came to a very shook stop. On the side of the road I inspected my vehicle to find a bolt missing from my right caliper and the inside of my Method rims torn to shreds with the weights gone. Using I screw driver I popped it off my rim and continued home about a half a mile up the hill. Luckily had a bolt that matched enough to hold my caliper. after revealing this information to the company they offered to repair my rim at a different location and claimed they had nothing to do with the caliper bolt considering you don't need to touch it for a brake pad installation. Quite the coincidence to leave a shop and have the exact thing they worked on break. If you love disappointing work and poor work quality then what are you waiting for! We brought our truck in to have the brakes done. You know, like the brake pads... Brakes have been working fine it was just you could start to hear the squeaking from the sensor letting us know the pads needed replacing. Brought it into these guys because there was some deal on brakes at the time. They called us that night to let us know that there apparently were a whole host of other things they found that needed fixing and replacing. I believe it was pads, rotors (when I was younger I let my brakes get down to the rotors and I specifically remember the feeling while driving it and we never felt anything strange with this one at all) and wheel bearings. Quoted us like $2600. I said that seems crazy expensive and I wanted to get a second price to which they told me well if you don't get it done you owe us, I believe it was, $79 or something for the estimate. I felt like we were put into a shitty position and we went ahead and got the snap financing through them to just pay for everything to get done. Over the following 5/6 months we had to bring this truck back SIX times!!!! I can't even remember the first couple things that had gone wrong but the last two or three times it was because our tires were wobbling once we would hit anything over 50 mph and that was because they had messed up the bearings and not tighten something appropriately, which was admitted by them. Then they screwed up our emergency break so when my husband went to go park on a hill outside of his jobsite the truck started rolling backwards. Then he brought it back and they apologized and stated at this point they were flat out embarrassed, and supposedly they fixed it again and then he was driving around feeling like the emergency brake was stuck on even though it was disengaged. Brought it back and sure enough it had been over-tightened or some crap so they apologized again and fixed it. It was just one thing after another. So lo and behold as we are coming back from big bear last weekend, now roughly 9 months after we had the brakes done but only probably three months since the latest screw up, smoke starts pouring out of the front and the back brakes and that smell of burnt rubber was pouring through our truck. We've come up and down the hill from big bear more than once prior to them doing our breaks and never had this issue. So naturally we assume this is something related to the horrible brake job they did on our vehicle and we took it back in. They tell us it's the calipers which they hadn't touch and acted like they were doing us a favor not charging us the $79 fee to look at the vehicle. Get out of here with that bullshit. You should be looking at this vehicle for free for the rest of its life at the amount of times you guys screwed up. Not only that but the estimate they gave us for the calipers which we obviously declined because I wouldn't trust these guys with a damn car wash never mind working on my brakes again, the estimate ended up being more than twice the cost of two other estimates we got from reputable mechanics in the area. Moral of the story is watch out for these guys, they don't know what they are doing and they are total con artists. I paid $10 more for the inspection because they wouldn't honor my coupon and left. NEVER going back. Just got my car from Pep Boys and paid under $240 for total brake services that totally resolved my issues. Since 2011 I have always gone to Pep Boys because I liked the way they treat single women and not take advantage.
