He's an honest man, he does not try to suggest what is not needed. He is transparent with part and labor cost. The convenience of having a mobile service is a HUGE perk and somewhat gives him a reason to up prices, yet his prices are extremely fair. Sometimes when you spend money on unexpected things, it can feel like a pain in the you know what, but I have always walked away feeling like I got a GREAT deal. I have called Chris for multiple car issues on multiple cars over the years, even calling him to look at a car before I purchased it. So I needed to have my brakes and rotors replaced on my truck and after calling around to a few places I found Brakemasters here on Yelp and we called them. These gentlemen showed up on time and got to work right away, about 10 minutes in they spotted an issue with the emergency brake that we never would have known about and were off to the store for the part to fix it. That Guy Chris is the rudest laziest most incompetent person i have ever encountered. Not only did he not know how to fix a car he also had the nerve to be rude. He was dirty, smelled like he had not showered in weeks and sat up and ate a whole bag of chips while his coworker did all the work, claiming his hand was messed up. So, i had an Issue with my Crown Vic. real bad squeak from the left side whenever i did any steering. I took it to a National chain repair shop and asked for an estimate which ended up being for over $1200 dollars parts and labor. found Chris's business advertised on craigslist so i thought, what do i have to loose. after just a couple of minutes on the phone with Chris he called me back and gave me an estimate that was half of what i was being charged at the chain. Chris and Travis met me with my car and started the repair at around 11:30am and they were finished with all the work by about 2pm. new Ball joints upper and lower both sides , new monroe shocks, Sway bar link, and right side tie rod ends all for half of what the national chain was going to gouge me for. dropped it off at another chain to do the front end alignment and it is all good. I waited too long to get my brakes and rotors replaced after some sticker shock from a national chain. When a horrible sound suddenly got worse, I pulled over and searched for a place to get my brake work and saw that Chris had a mobile service that would come to me (saved $$$ on towing)! He picked up when I called and was there within 20 minutes. The work was done in less than an hour, and he provided all parts receipts as well as his summary receipt (a VERY fair price). He's not a salesman, and some reviews on other platforms have been low because of his perceived "attitude". I experienced professionalism and honesty; I never felt lied to or deceived. I'd rather have the experience I had and don't necessarily need mega smiles, sunshine, and rainbows, so I'm satisfied. Will definitely be calling him again. read more

My brakes died in Greensboro on a trip from TN to Raleigh and Brakemaster was advertised on craigslist. (They died due to a neighbor doing a quick inefficient job.) I called everyone on craigslist and was SOOO happy I went with Brakemaster. I have an old car that's been "modified" a lot, and they quickly discerned what was wrong and fixed it without the usual "well you need whole brakelines/system, etc." They were super fast and efficient, even sprayed brake cleaner when they were done! And it only cost $80 total for him to come to me and do the job. He has a fully equipped van, and is prepared for anything. I called brakemasters to have some brake work done on my vehicle (pads and rotors). They quoted me a price and arranged to come to my home to complete the work. The owner and his assistant seemed to know what they were doing and finished the work in about 2 hours. Shortly thereafter I was driving and my noticed a burning smell. When I stopped my vehicle I noticed one of my rotors was smoking. I called Brakemasters and they told me it was normal due to a normal break in period for new rotors and pads. I disagreed and finally they said the caliper could be seized up which could be causing the pad to rub against the rotor constantly. They said sometimes this happens on old calipers and they could replace it if I paid for the part. They arrived and after removing the caliper deternined the caliper pin was seized and not allowing it to release. They removed the pin, put in a new pin and this seemed to fix the issue. Well a few days later the caliper went bad and I needed a new one. Instead of going to Brakemasters I went to a local shop to have it replaced. When they were inspecting the brakes they found one of the caliper pins had broken and was grinded down to appear flush and would need to be drilled out and replaced. The other caliper was leaking and I ended up having two calipers replaced. Brakemasters was the first mechanic to ever do any work on my brakes so who else could have done this? Bottom line is pay a little more and get it done right the first time or pay more down the line. read more

Friendly, knowledgeable, and cheap. This man really knows his stuff and isn't out to charge you an arm and a leg like most (paid 60 for install and bought my own brake pads for 35). This is the second time we've had Chris @ Brakemaster help us out. This time it was the front brakes. We needed pads and rotors. We called and Chris and his assistant were at our apartment in about an hour. In another hour, the work was done. I waited a few days to write this review because I wanted to see how the car would do and it's been great. We saved $145 using Brakemaster's services and the work was done faster. I wish I could give this business zero stars! I enlisted Brake Master Mobile to fix the starter on my car about a week ago and since then have had more issues with the starter in addition to issues with my battery. I've had to pay another shop to fix Chris' errors because he wasn't available to look at the car (although his ad says to call anytime and he claimed to me that he offers a lifetime warranty on his services) because he was on a date! That's literally what he told us. After paying over 300+ to get my car fixed AGAIN, I called Chris to talk about this and discuss a full or partial refund. He refused to even talk about it stating "it wasn't his fault" and once I asked him for his business address so that I could take it to smalls claim court, he refused to give it to me and hung up on me! I've since found the address and I am currently going through the process but PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN. He was highly unprofessional and provided POOR customer service from my first encounter with him to the last (out of court, anyway). SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE! read more
