10/15/24 Oil change at Valvoline…read more End of November we noticed the engine light on and began to see oil spots in the driveway. 12/2/24 we had time to take it back to Valvoline to check if it was something they did or did not do. Terrell (Goat) the store manager and the Valvoline employees did a quick check inside the engine and under the carriage, and were quick to say it was not because of them, then turned the blame on a possible transmission leak due to the mess of oil the leak had made under the carriage. Since Valvoline dismissed any chance it was due to the oil change, we left and decided to take it to a mechanic. We then took the jeep to Meineke, under the impression that it was possibly a transmission leak, as the employees at Valvoline suggested. Come to find out, the manager at the Meineke, had recently fixed another car after an oil change at the same Valvoline location for customer in September (a Dodge). For this claim, the meineke manager had to physically take the oil filter housing to Valvoline to speak to Terrell. That claim went back and forth for a couple of weeks while the customer was lent a loaner car from Meineke. The dodge claim was finally covered by Valvoline after he had to take the time to drive to the Valvoline location and speak to Terrell in person. On previous calls, Terrell would not admit this incident. 12/12/24 approx 11:40 am, Terrell admitted on the call with the meineke manager, he did remember. The picture of the finger on the oil housing points out the crack that was found. The crack was seeping oil when the engine revved up - since pressure rises when the engine is revved, pushing the oil out and creating the mess it did under the carriage over the month it was driven. The crack could not be seen before its removal out of the housing. This would have happened when the Valvoline employee was screwing the oil house cap back on too tightly. Since the repair of the housing, the jeep is no longer leaking. 12/12/24 A message was sent from the claims department to have Terrell's manager to call us, but I do not believe this will help with any explanation. It would be better if Terrell's manager called Meineke. Requesting reimbursement for removal and replacement of complete engine oil filter housing assembly. Claim has since been denied by the Terrell and this Valvoline location. They will won't cover the repair approximately $1200.

When I went in today to get my oil topped off, I was met by a young mechanic who said pop your hood man. Then he told me it would be simpler and easier to check your own oil at home. That doesn't strike me as polite service for a paying member of the car wash. I pay about $100 every time I get my oil changed, and I pay $40 a month for your membership. I feel I should get more courteous service then "it would be simpler and easier to check your own oil at home. I have the right to come get my oil topped off when I need to since I'm paying for oil changes there.

After about a week, got a low oil notification. Called and was told "you must have a leak, you can come back and we can check it out and you can pay to add more if needed". Went to a different shop, was told they had changed the oil with the WRONG oil, they didn't change the filter, and both of my rear turn signals needs changed. Paying for a second oil change now. Also needed coolant and wiper fluid. Obviously they don't know what they're doing, or at least the crew working the day I went in didn't.

Made sure to check the level before driving off and because oil level seemed lower than expected after previous oil change service at the same location. Technician topped it off to the correct level and noted that they had looked up the wrong engine (which had a lower oil capacity) . Hence, the reason they didn't fill to correct level. The lack of any quality control, supervision, or expertise on something as simple as an oil change is perplexing.

Couldn't have been worse! Brought car in for an oil change and inspection. Got it back with a check…read moreengine light and multiple error codes. I opened the hood to check the oil and the engine cover was just sitting there sideways. I immediately went back in and notified the front desk, they had a mechanic look at the codes. Mechanic thought it was the battery or alternator but checked both and were fine. He then tried to reset the error so I could drive it and see if it went away. So I drove it home and it immediately came back. I returned the next day to have it looked at and they took 4 hours to call and tell me it has multiple errors and they suggested I take it to another shop to be fixed and assured me they didn't do anything wrong. I took it to a new shop and they found the issue instantly. When they replaced the oil filter they stripped a wire harness and shorted the electrical system. Have video and pics of the damage. $600 later everything works fine again. I don't ever plan on taking my car here again if they don't make this right.
