I went to a Brakes plus near my house to get an alignment at. Parker and Havana. The tech proceeded to tell me that I need over $3000 work. I went to another competitor shop they proceed to tell me that most repairs and parts ordered were not needed, and why did they tell you this? I paid $300 to get everything needed fixed. read more

I haven't picked up my car yet- but this review is specifically because of Bre- she's helped me from start to finish. She was kind and had a great attitude when I first called about an estimate, she's was kind and attentive to every person that came mk while I was there. Bre helped me get everything taken care of. She is one of the best customer service people I've ever encountered! They offered great price options and saved me about $350-$400 off of what another auto shot wanted to charge for brake pads and a flush. I'll update my review once actual brake service is complete! UPDATE: I spoke to Rich from Corporate today who was honestly a pleasure to talk to. He let me know that he did not condone this behavior and would be reprimanding the necessary people involved. I very much appreciate that Corporate and the store Manager both reached out to me to make this right. I'm glad that they have good management in place to handle situations like this seriously. Backstory: I took my car to my personal mechanic a few months ago because my car was shaking when braking at high speeds. They looked into it and said the wheel lug nuts had been over-torqued, gave me paperwork which included a technical service bulletin from Toyota about my car make and model, and said to take it to where I had my brakes done last (this Brakes Plus). I took my car in on this past Saturday because I could feel/hear my back brakes grinding and brought the paperwork in with me. When I was ready for checkout I asked if the mechanic had said anything about the paperwork I brought. Lorenzo* came out with a smirk and said, "that's not something that can happen." I asked why would she (my mechanic) tell me that then? To which he responded, "Oh, it was a woman?" I said, "Are you being serious?" He said she sounded like a newb that didn't know what she was talking about and continued to disparage female mechanics - in front of myself and a female coworker. I was a bit in disbelief and kept questioning if I was hearing him correctly? Never in my life have I been so offended and outraged. I am making it my own personal goal to make sure everyone I know hears this sexist story and never goes to Brakes Plus to see Lorenzo* ever again. The actual Technical Service Bulletin from Toyota is attached. I find the lack of know-how concerning considering the majority of their business is related to brakes/tires. We also reached out to a tech from Toyota, "When you have over torqued tires on aluminum wheels it blocks the heat in so it wears out the rotors and brakes faster because the heat can't escape. And it seems like it is a turn-over business. Are they doing that to every car, so they come back faster for brakes? Also not to mention the awful warranty that's provided." I had to get my brakes replaced after a little over a year and I work 15min from where I live. I will be taking my car to an honest mechanic that cares about my safety going forward. Just got my brake pads done at this location. They said the premium package price would be $230 per axel. I was also told it would be about an hour. Ended up waiting for 4 hours and got the bill at the end only to discover that they charged a supposedly "required" $40 per axel to flush the fluid that was not mentioned in the advertised and confirmed price. They also charged $79 for labor per axel that was also not included in the advertised price. So you spend about an extra $120 per axel that is not anywhere on their advertising. Terrible business practice, do not use Brakes Plus. Worst experience I've had at any mechanic shop of my life. read more

Had my brakes replaced here just over a year ago. While traveling my brakes failed. There were no brakes plus locations within a 6 hour drive of my loc. when I called this location told him what was going on with my brakes and asked them for assistance. I was told that I should not be driving the truck because it was not safe. But to bring it in for repairs. I told him that it was at least a 6 Hour drive over mountain passes to get there. I was again told that it would not be safe to drive the truck, but bring it in right away or repairs When I told the person that I was not going to drive my truck there over mountain passes to get my repairs made. I was trying to get their assistance in utilizing my lifetime warranty. Or a portion of it to knock down some of the expenses. The individual was adamant that the only way that I could use my warranty. Was to go to that location. I stopped here to see about repairing a tire after driving in to say goodbye to my father the day before. Already the worst week of my life, I couldn't believe it when I started my car and a tire was severely underinflated. I've been going here for oil changes and maintenance for years. They have always been honest with me and never have tried to upsell or lie to me about what is needed. I had a very bad experience at my dealership where their service department told me I needed to replace an axel and CV boot and the second opinion at Brakes Plus was that only the CV boot needed to be replaced but the axel was fine. The dealership was trying to make over $1,000 additional in unneeded repairs. read more

Appointment for oil change and rotate the tires. Could not rotate as two lug nuts per tire were swollen, repair cost: labor-$153.00, 20 lug nuts $319.80 plus additional costs came up to $494.34. I purchased the lug nuts on line for $35.00 and changed out the lug nuts in less than a hour, I'm not a car repair type person. Called and left message for the manager to call me, no call. read more

I called brakes plus at 445 PM to see if they could get me in to do an alignment on my 2016 4 runner which I just put new wheels and tires on. The guy (who's name I can't remember) said come on in and we can get it done. Took them maybe 20-25 minutes did some great work. Very pleased! Would recommend. I brought my vehicle to 7040 county line rd. Highlands ranch co where I've received excellent service in the past. Wow have things changed. Brought in for an ignition switch and an oil change. The estimate came in just under 500 bucks, after declining an additional $400 in upsell unnecessary shocks & struts, I authorized. When I got to the store at the end of the day to pick up my vehicle, Don tells me they didnt know the key had an electronic chip and it would be several hundred dollars additional if I wanted my vehicle, as they had to go to a dealer for a special tool and he would have to mark it up. Don also offered to leave my ignition half installed and I could drive it to a dealer to complete the job to save money. I had him put it back together and return my vehicle. No thanks on half completed job. I would never recommend this place - ever read more

I wanted to support a local biz (am a repeat customer as well) and brought my 2014 MB GLK250 in here for a wheel alignment after Costco Tire noticed a slight shoulder wear. The car was driving fine but I wanted to take care of this to prevent potential uneven tire wear down the road. I made a 4p.m appt, and showed up late around 4:30p.m (my bad). Front desk checked me in after confirming that they have sufficient time to complete the work. The alignment was completed around 5p.m and I was checked out around 5:30. Front desk guy mentioned at this time that the car was severely pulling to the right during the road test and he was under the impression that the alignment work was not done. I asked to the service adviser (SA) who proceeded to explain how complex the alignment can be on a Mercedes, that I may need after market parts to get the alignment adjusted back to the right spec , and that they do not have time to address the issue before closing for the day. Wow! The SA mentioned that I'll not be charged for the work done today though, as if that offered any consolation for the time lost and inconvenience. In essence, I invested an hour and a half @ Brakes Plus and left with a car that drove much worse than when I first brought it in. The part that really ticked me off was when the SA was more concerned about closing on time, rather than address the situation. All that was really needed was an acknowledgement of the situation, and a plan to make it right. I really want to give the biz another chance and bring the car back in, but any confidence that I have is lost after this most recent experience. read more

BEWARE! These guys FOR SURE are paid commission on selling extra services! Took in my car to have brake pads changed. They called saying the brakes were fine, but I needed all 4 shocks replaced! They were all leaking. $900 plus. My car is only 3 years old! Told them to put it together and that I would pick it up. When I got there it was still in the bay because they were still trying to get me to give in and replace the shocks! I had to tell them twice to give me my car! Took to a local mechanic (not a chain). Front pads needed changing badly (which I had known in the first place), and all shocks were fine. read more

I recently brought a Camaro and A Suburban to their shop. This is by far the best auto repair shop I have gone to in my experience. They are reasonably priced and they do really good work. In all I brought three different vehicles to them to fix various issued that previous shops had worked on and not able to fix to my satisfaction. The gentlemen working at the shop are very courteous and responsive to my problems. The main thing is they stand behind their work. They fix the problems. Just in case it was not done correctly the first time they take it back and fix the problem at no charge. It's refreshing to have reliability and honesty to count on with a auto repair shop. Took my truck in for an alignment, they came back and said I had a bad wheel bearing and a bad lower ball joint. Was quoted around 550$ for the wheel bearing and around 450$ for the lower ball joint. First off, the parts for a wheel bearing are about 15$. It took me a total of 30 minutes to do it. Second, the parts for a lower ball joint are about 30$. It took me about an hour to do. With about a total cost of I'd say 50$. Needless to say watch what they price you because it's a damn rip off. DO NOT get anything on your vehicle serviced here without finding out other prices and quotes because they will over price everything and try and charge you more then it's worth. If I could give lower then 1 star I would. These guys suck. read more
