I do rate businesses more than 1 star if they deserve them. Since Google allows businesses to pay to have their bad reviews removed and power users to remove any review at their discretion, I post them here where I know they will stay unless I remove them myself. ZERO STARS! NEBRASKA IS A 1 PARTY CONSENT STATE SO I SUGGEST YOU RECORD ALL PHONE CALLS WITH THIS HORRIBLE BUSINESS IN CASE YOU NEED IT FOR EVIDENCE. WARNING - STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE BUSINESS AND ESPECIALLY BILL AND MICHAEL! THEY PROBABLY STOLE MY EXPENSIVE ROYAL PURPLE SYNTHETIC OIL I BROUGHT FOR MY OIL CHANGE! They installed 2 inside brake pads on one front wheel and 2 outside brake pads on the other front wheel. I knew something was wrong. I had other mechanics inspect my brakes. Nobody could tell me what was wrong. I brought my car here for other service. They showed me the damage the brake pads caused. I have audio and video of Bill telling me my rotors would have more rust on them if these are the same brakes they installed so these are not the brakes that Brakes Plus installed. Bill called me with a $700+ bill which eventually I did not have to pay...after I contacted corporate. I paid for an alignment after which the steering wheel was not centered and at least 1 wheel was still out of alignment. They told me their machine was not calibrated. Michael told me their machine was calibrated between the first alignment and the second alignment the next day. I asked Michael "How is the machine calibrated, software?" and his reply was "No, mirrors." which I knew was a lie. The regional manager Ron is probably just as shady as Bill and Michael. Ron told me he would look up the last time the machine was calibrated but of course conveniently he could not find it or lied about not being able to find it. I have seen at least 1 employee smoking a cigarette in the garage which is extremely dangerous and illegal! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Brakes Plus on 168th and Maple. I just recently moved in the area and my college age daughter and I pulled up in her car at 6:05 on a cold winters night, five minutes AFTER closing. She was driving back to college that night and had a headlight out so I was concerned for her safety. All three mechanics that had locked up the shop and were heading home, reopened the shop and spent 35 minutes replacing a bulb in her older model car (so it needed to be disassembled) to get it replaced. Then after all of the inconvenience we caused each of them, Pat, Andrew and Brooks they smiled and said "this one is on us, no charge", just come back again with your business and tell a friend about us! WOW!! They will have all of my business and hopefully yours, these guys are amazing and super kind!!! read more

I am from a small town south of Omaha but live in West Omaha as of January. I was referred to Brakes Plus by my aunt and went there today (Saturday of Memorial Weekend) to schedule an appointment. Steve was very friendly and helpful in setting up an appointment, and another service manager came up to him and said that he would work on it right away today. I waited a short time, and Steve came back and with great news that saved me a ton of money, and saved me from waiting until next week to get my car fixed. I am so impressed with this location and felt like a very valued customer. I am so thankful I came to Brakes Plus today, they definitely turned my day around and got me on my way in perfect time for Memorial Weekend. read more

I have come to trust this office very much. They do excellent work, but are very decent and fair. I had struts and shocks put on my vehicle and just did not prefer the after market units compared to the original units. Just my preference. Pat agreed with minimal charge and after my using the struts for a few months, to replace them with the original equipment units. This is an example of doing what is right and fair instead of doing what you can get away with. I really respect that and find it rare. I highly recommend this office. I don't even know where to start! These guys are too notch! I'm still blown away by their caring personalities and generosity. I've fallen in a pit in life and they have gone above and beyond with servicing my car and they didn't make me feel bad about my situation by turning away but instead helping me and encouraging and making sure my car was in great driving condition! I won't get into the details however... I WOULD RECOMMEND Joel and his crew any day, and every day... I'd give them 10 stars out of 5 if that was an option. I never write reviews but I have to today because of the service I received today from Rob. I took my car in because another car place told me I needed my coolant flushed out and replaced. I decided to go get that done at Brakes plus because of a coupon in the mail. He decided to check the coolant to make sure it needed replacing and showed me that the coolant was as good as it gets and didn't need to be replaced. I appreciate him using the coolant measurer tool in front of me and showing me as he did each step. Thank you Rob! read more

Quick and friendly service! They truly listen to you, get to the bottom of the issue, and do not try to upsell you on additional services. That is something I really like about them; I've taken my car to Jensen Tire and other auto shops, and it's always "your car needs this or it's a safety hazard!" I take great pride in my cars, and my father was a mechanic, so I know what is needed and when it is needed. And Brakes Plus truly is a one-of-a-kind service! read more
