I am going to attempt to make this as short as I can without being angry because I had a very bad experience with this shop (several actually). This is an awful shop to bring your car to. It is the nightmare of mechanics. They are not honest. I was a long time customer at this shop with two different cars and it did not occur to me that they were damaging my car and not changing my oil (when I went in for a routine oil change). It took a string of events that caused me realize what was going on. First my car had been having a problem with it's headlights where the right low beam would turn off with a brand new bulb. I took the car into be fixed and was given a temp fix several times, but not explanation and never a permanent fix. I was having trouble starting my car. I took the car to the shop with a friend following me. They checked my car and told me my starter was going and to bring it back the following day. I specifically asked the owner if I could leave it that night since I had a ride home. He told me the car would be fine for another few days and to bring it back. It died that night in a parking lot. A different friend came out to try to help me get it started so that I could drop it off at the shop instead of having it towed. He was unable to get the car started but informed me that my oil (which had just been changed) was very dirty and had either not been done or done poorly. I wound up having to have the car towed costing me more money when I could have just left it there. While having the starter replaced they once again temp fixed my low beam. This time when I picked the car up I was informed that it was the last time they would be able to temp fix my low beam because my fuse box had melted. Suddenly, I was given an explanation. They appeared to not know why my fuse box would have melted. I purchased a new fuse box which was pretty expensive. I asked the shop if they could install it and bill me since I was a consistent customer and the fuse box had been expensive. It's also good to mention that whenever they needed a part for my car they had me pick it up from the dealership (even the dealership was bothered by that). Brakes Inc told me specifically that they just decided to no longer bill because of too many outstanding bills from other customers (convenient). This forced me to seek out another shop and a friends husband installed it for me since it was a plug in. He informed me that the reason my fuse box melted was because a second master power line had been installed. Why didn't Brakes Inc tell me this? Why didn't they fix this before it melted my fuse box? Bad service. My headlight problems continued and I had to seek a car electrician before finally bringing my car to the dealership. Turns out the second master power line was frying all of the wires in my harness. Fortunately for me it had only been affecting the headlights, but I did have to have all of the wiring replaced. Since changing mechanics, I have had no more major problems with my car. None. These guys either take advantage or they truly know nothing about auto repair. I leave this review where I can because they are so few reviews out there and if this happened to me, I am sure it's happening to other people. I wouldn't trust this company. Let me start off by saying WOW ! This garage is not only capable but they are personable. I have been coming to this garage for at least 10 years. I own a Mercedes , Mercury and a Dodge. They care for my auto"s like no other garage. I am amazed how the routine maintenance has given long life to my cars and basically hassle free driving for my family. I am kept in the loop at all times. Craig and his crew are honest and always willing to do what is right for their customers. They even dropped my car off at my house after my service was complete. I have been going to this shop for the last 6 years. In the last year or two the lead mechanic changed. The new lead mechanic is great. He works very hard to get the job done as soon as possible, but I understand with only a few mechanics it can take a little time. They do try to fit you in as much as they can. They are very honest and give you options on whether you want the less expensive (usually temporary fix), or the "real" fix. I have never felt like I was being cheated or that they were ever dishonest. read more

My family has been coming here for the better part of a decade. We now have five vehicles and just about all of their work is handled by Brakes Inc. I haven't been a fan of their work for quite some time as the brakes squeak a lot of they're done, I think their prices are a little high, and it usually takes them more time than they estimate. But, my father really likes them as they're usually pretty friendly and that's always very important to him. However, today I dropped him off there to grab a few things from his truck while they work on it. When we arrived, we saw them towing a Type A2 or Type B school bus with his truck! This bus will weigh anywhere between 10,000 and 15,000 pounds when empty. My dad's truck is only rated to tow about 8,500 to 8,700 pounds! And, experts recommend to never tow more than 75% of the maximum towing capacity. What the ****? The guy was caught with his pants down and told my dad he would "deduct a towing fee." They should be out of business! Or, at least investigated by the BBB or something. We're paying you a lot of money to work on our 10+ old vehicle with 160,000 miles on it, not use it to help do your work. read more

after 5 years of being a solid customer I believe a review 4 brakes inc is well overdue. they have rebuilt my suspension in my Expedition they rebuild my whole front end on my Jeep WJ they have installed needed parts along the way as well doing all my inspctions. they're very understanding and down to earth. they explain everything without even asking. solid work solid word they stand behind their craftsmanship and I will always use brakes inc. for any mechanical needs. solid completely satisfied customer. read more
