Simple, hearty and great tasting, crispy breading on the chicken fried steak.

The busiest breakfast spot in Wise County everyday. But we tried it for lunch wanting a simple, great tasting lunch instead of some of the places we normally go to. It was one hour before closing but when we walked in the door, we were greeted with a nice hello from three employees. Sat down at a worn, but clean table, and was approached by the server immediately to take our drink order. Nice specials board on the wall and a simple two-sided menu made finding what we wanted easy and fast. Brought our drinks in about one minute, took our order and went to give it to the kitchen. Looked around a bit and noticed many chairs were worn and all the tables have been heavily used but everything was clean and orderly. I realized the heavy usage is the morning rush from Farmers, Ranchers, Businessmen, and others, is why everything is worn and appreciated it's a badge of honor in that people love the food and spend their money to wear it out. A simple side salad came out, tasted great and 5 minutes later our entrees came out. Both of us had the Chicken Fried Steak; one with mashed potatoes and one with fries. Simple presentation for a complex flavor profile in the breading, great gravy and a hearty serving of mash with a soft roll. The French fries appeared to be hand cut, tasted great and were nice and crispy. The breading was light and very crispy, giving it real hearty dish a delicate mix of flavors with a nice crispy crunch! Service was excellent; we were checked on regularly, but not overbearingly, by the server and the manager. All in all, we found a very nice meal, clean cafe, and great service in the little town of Bridgeport. This would have been a 5-star rating but subtracted 1-star for the worn chairs, even though they were earned the hard way.

Came here to visit a friend, was pleasantly surprised, I love to support mom/pop places, and it did not disappoint. Customer service was what to be expected, somewhat friendly someone country, but was efficiently taken care of even by the 2nd server because the 1st had asked me to cash out so she can leave......Younger generation, the food was pretty darn good w/ the exception of the Grits, not sure what was up with that, but over all pretty good. Loved seeing the locals old/young coming in and just living it up. No phones, just conversation and good company.

Excellent country style breakfast! It is exactly what my husband and I were looking for!

Friendly small spot. We stopped in after church and the place was almost full but no wait. Which, in my book, is great! My husband and I both ordered the cowboy breakfast. My older son ordered the southwest salad. My youngest ordered a burger. Th burger looked really nice and I was told it was good. We're weren't given a kids meal but the burger and tots seemed to be decent for him. The service was pretty friendly and fast. You can sit where you want and the place was full but we weren't overlooked or forgotten about. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because my husband and I ordered the same thing and all of my food was over cooked while his was all golden and looked appetizing. I was looking forward to hash browns but these were too hard and crunchy for me. Otherwise, it's a friendly little diner that's close by!

There aren't many good "diner" type places around the metroplex. So we decided to ride our motorcycles out to Decatur for an early morning breakfast before the Texas sun melted us in July. As usual, I relied on my fellow Yelpers to lead the way with good reviews of Brandi's. Y'all didn't disappoint us. This is a good ole fashioned country diner on one the square of Decatur. The bonus is sitting across the street with a great view of one of the best county courthouses in this state. Pretty simple menu but nothing simple about the service and the quality of food. The coffee never ran out and our waitress stopped by checking on us even with a packed (well half full due to Covid) house. I had the biscuit with eggs, potatoes and gravy on top. I came close to licking the plate clean. That gravy was really good. Never tried the other plates my buddies had but they never complained and cleaned their plates as well. All in all...great place to stop by and good food at a very good price!

What a neat find. We came here to eat with our family today. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff and seated. Both our drink orders and meal orders were taken and received in a timely fashion. The temperature of the food was good. And it tasted good. We would certainly be back when visiting near this town again.

Meat had a lot of flavor, & the peppers were pretty spicy. The fries were good as well My friend had the chicken bowl, & it was deliciousssss. Next time that's what I'll be getting. So much flavor, & a good option if you're trying be healthy. So props to them for adding that to the menu. The service was good, our waitress was nice. Ambiance is that of a sports bar. They also have three pool tables and TVs. The menu is extensive and the prices reasonable for BBQ. Seems like a favorite of the locals. I though they would be playing C&W, but they had 60's and 70's music on. The squeeze and I split a two meat plate with brisket and sausage and two sides, cowboy cole slaw and Rooster Tails (Deep fried onion petals). The brisket was moist and very tender, with a slight smokiness. The sausage was deeply smoked, sliced in half and charred a bit on the flattop. The slaw and Rooster Tails were really good. A nice slightly spicy dip was served with the onions. Good BBQ sauce for the brisket, and they also had a wall of pain with some choice hot sauces on it. I didn't partake, since I have a flight to catch in the morning. They brought a second plate for no charge. The squeeze had a canned IPA and I had a Shiner Bock draft for libations. We really enjoyed the meal. Morgan was an excellent server and didn't try to shoo us out even though more customers were coming in. I wish I lived around here so I could try the other items on the menu.

Here again in 5 months on our way to San Diego…read more It's a Sunday, just before 8am. It is busy. Guess we're late as everyone is already halfway through their breakfast. Again this place is clean & neat despite the breakfast crowd. Our server was friendly and prompt with coffee and water. Today we ordered the Ryan's omelet and chicken fried steak. The omelette serving is big! Very generous amounts of ingredients and chunky size too! Love it! The chicken fried steak is huge! I think it's more a sharing size but if you're hungry, it's perfect for you. I'm pretty sure there'll be leftover.

Not a lot of "atmosphere" per se. Drinks were ordered and delivered promptly. Breakfast order took a minute; there seemed to be some confusion over which server was taking our table. BIL ordered one of the local breakfasts with all the usual: eggs, grits, toast, bacon. I opted for the veggie omelet with home fries and toast. Order took no time to be delivered. BIL finished his, and mine was the perfect portion. I hate having leftovers but this was not an overstuffed omelet, so I made short work of it. Home fries were a bit bland, but veggies in omelet were just right. Getting out of here was a challenge. Once food was delivered, we were able to watch servers talking while our drinks ran dry, and getting the check took a minute. It was good, reasonably priced and no leftovers gives it the 4-stars instead of 3, but once I'm done with breakfast, I have things to do, so no 5-stars on this one. I'm going to skip this on my next trip to Texas.
