Here again in 5 months on our way to San Diego. It's a Sunday, just before 8am. It is busy. Guess we're late as everyone is already halfway through their breakfast. Again this place is clean & neat despite the breakfast crowd. Our server was friendly and prompt with coffee and water. Today we ordered the Ryan's omelet and chicken fried steak. The omelette serving is big! Very generous amounts of ingredients and chunky size too! Love it! The chicken fried steak is huge! I think it's more a sharing size but if you're hungry, it's perfect for you. I'm pretty sure there'll be leftover. read more

Brother-in-law loves this place, so I decided to take him to breakfast on one of my visits to the area. Plenty of parking, not crowded on a weekday. Inside very open, lots of light. Not a lot of "atmosphere" per se. Drinks were ordered and delivered promptly. Breakfast order took a minute; there seemed to be some confusion over which server was taking our table. BIL ordered one of the local breakfasts with all the usual: eggs, grits, toast, bacon. I opted for the veggie omelet with home fries and toast. Order took no time to be delivered. BIL finished his, and mine was the perfect portion. I hate having leftovers but this was not an overstuffed omelet, so I made short work of it. Home fries were a bit bland, but veggies in omelet were just right. Getting out of here was a challenge. Once food was delivered, we were able to watch servers talking while our drinks ran dry, and getting the check took a minute. It was good, reasonably priced and no leftovers gives it the 4-stars instead of 3, but once I'm done with breakfast, I have things to do, so no 5-stars on this one. We finally got to try Brandis since they've increased their business hours for Wednesday- weekend! There are some kinks to work out with the extended operating hours of the afternoon/evening shift though. The new chef that works the later shift is still learning, but the food that came out was BOMB! I ordered the Chance omelet which had green peppers, sausage, a spicy sauce and onions/jalapeños served with a churro waffle. Amazing!! And yes, it's BREAKFAST ALL DAY!! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I visited Brandis with a few other ladies so we had a group, but our waitress handled us like a pro! Ordered biscuits & gravy and French toast. The biscuits & gravy was okay - not the best, not the worst. However, the French toast was so heavy on cinnamon it wasn't any good. My husband wanted to trade it for something else but our waitress went missing. We finally flagged down someone else and she told us she was helping with the church. So it's pretty early in the birth of this new restaurant, and yes, there's some kinks they are working out. However, this is a 5 star review! We were seated pretty quickly (but you need to pay attention, 12:30 on a Sunday you may not get seated... this place is popular, and closes at 2:00pm). Our waitress was really nice, and pretty quick. I watched her handle about 6 tables, and she never stopped for a breath! The coffee and drinks were out quickly, and she checked back often. We ordered a waffle well done, so it would be extra crispy. At about 20 minutes the waitress came by the table and said that our meal was waiting on the waffle. At about 30 min the meal came out, the waffle was hot, and my food was cold. I told the waitress, and she corrected it immediately, and I had a new meal in less than 5 minutes. I understand that when you are starting a new restaurant at this size, there's going to be some glitches... especially with the kitchen! However, the attitude of the waitress was pleasant, and she fixed the problem immediately... I wasn't blamed or made to feel bad (I hate to send food back).... that level of service alone deserves the 5 stars! The food: delicious! I had the chicken fried steak and eggs (see pic)! The meat was seasoned, the breading was seasoned, the gravy was seasoned! Very few restaurants in Wise County can figure this trifecta out! It was outstanding without being salty! The eggs were perfect! The pancakes (2) were crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside! Someone in the kitchen KNOWS what they are doing! The waffle... the same... firm, crispy, delicious... with lots of airy fluffiness in the middle. (Can you order a short stack of waffles? I'll have to ask when I come back!) Brandi has several other restaurants in the area. She knows how to train her staff (best in the county), and knows how to run a breakfast and lunch joint... like no other! This restaurant is currently operating at 1/2 capacity. As they find more staff, train them up, and get the few kitchen kinks worked out... it will be a fine running machine like the other restaurants! Until then, I can wait a few extra minutes for excellent service and excellent food! If you are in a hurry, there's a drive through restaurant or two up the road. We arrived at 940 am. It is now 1048 and we never got our food. It took 25 minutes until we could place an order and even then we had to call the waitress over. 20 minutes later the server apologized and says it's on its way, then 5 minutes later and 5 minutes again after that. We went through 4 cups of coffee. We then tell the server if our food isn't there in the next 5 minutes we were leaving. She leaves and comes back and says we need to pay for coffee. The sheer audacity that you would waste an hour of my day and still expect compensation is mind boggling. Every table around us got their food and ate and two tables turned over twice. I hoped to give a great review after reading all the people giving one stars just for service or no service etc. When we arrived the sign said to seat ourselves at a clean table, which explained why some people get overlooked...doesn't excuse it but there didn't appear to be anyone managing. We sat down and a waitress dropped a hamburger bun on the floor right by our table. It took 5 or 10 mins before anyone picked it up!! I asked the waiter if the hamburger steak was good, he said everything here is good! I ordered the hamburger steak and mashed potatoes and a side salad. I went to the salad bar which was disappointing, the onions were still frozen! There were not a lot of topping options and it was slim pickings of what was there. It was ok. Then the food came. As soon as I saw it I knew it wasn't going to be what I was expecting. Burnt frozen hamburger patty, huge onions in what looked and tasted to be jar gravy. The mashed potatoes did not look very appealing either. The whole plate looked terrible and unappetizing, but I took a couple of bites anyways. Then realizing my roll didn't come out, mentioned to waiter who said "oh I'm sorry our rolls are way to hard today, would you like toast or a biscuit?" I accepted a biscuit. My fiancé ordered Elijah's dad's plate, he asked for sour cream and was brought ranch. He stuck his finger in it to make sure..then asked the waiter to please bring sour cream instead of ranch. He said oh yeah the lady behind you wanted ranch and when he came back with the sour cream HE TOOK THE RANCH off our table and took it to her!! Gross!! The potato's were edible but the chorizo was so burnt it wasn't edible. Watching as we sat there in astonishment at the way this was going, trying to figure out who was running this show, I sent my plate back and refused the offer to order something else. I'd lost my appetite. Someone over the age of 30 needs to be there to run this or it's going down in flames. I wouldn't even want to see how disgusting the kitchen was besides what we could see on the floors back there!! There was stuff all over the floors in the dining area! Brandi's Country Kitchen restaurants are known the motorcycle world. We'd been to the Bridgeport one and many years ago, the small town square location in Decatur. Hadn't realized they moved to this much, much larger spot out on Hwy 287 until some riding buddies took me here. I returned the favor and brought another riding buddy here for a 2nd visit. After 2 times, I'm happy to say this is a new top breakfast spot for us. We were seated quickly both times, although it was much more crowded on the Sunday morning visit with larger family groups. Our twosome snuck in fast. Server was super friendly and never let our coffee mugs get empty. The amount and quality of food was just right--and the value is exceptional. If you're looking for fast-food speed, go to a fast-food joint. This is the place to go when you're moving at a speed where enjoying time with a friend or family is as important as the food. Happy to have this option available for our future morning rides. read more

I came in for breakfast and was seated at 10:30 and waited until 11:30 before I decided to walk out. When I called to see if there was a wait they said no wait. The whole time there were flies hovering around all the tables. I watched others being served. Our waitress stopped making eye contact. We flagged her down to find out what the issue was. She told us they were putting our order together now. 10 more minutes went by and we just got up and left. Half the place had been served and left. Terrible experience all around. read more

You'll find this place on the side of the highway, if you don't see it in time you might need glasses lol, it looks like a big barn-do house. Service was pretty good, didn't take too long to get anything. The food was in massive portions which kinda shocked, don't know why that is since it's Texas, but the food was amazing. Inside it's self seating, super cozy and chill not very crowded but do expect to scavenge for a booth lol. It's a very nice place all in all and I super recommend it 10/10 read more

We came here after church on a Sunday and the building was about half full. We waited around 30 minutes after we ordered our food and all of it came out cold. I don't know what they were doing for 30 minutes, but at least 20 of it our food was sitting at the window. Nothing beats a good cold breakfast. (Heavy sarcasm) Absolutely will never be back. Brandi's is a good place to eat. However, you won't be able to eat because you will have to wait an hour for your table, only to be told once you're seated, that you then have to wait an additional hour for the food. This hasn't been the first time this happened, but it's definitely the last for me. The employees are rude, don't speak kindly to customers, and act like you annoy them. First time at this new location but Brandi's has been around for years and ALWAYS has a full parking lot. This place is larger and looks very good. Clean and bright, welcoming, until I see a sign that says, "sit wherever you want...at a clean table". Always known for their great service, this one fits right in. The server was friendly and offered suggestions when I asked, even though her recommendations lacked any kind of passion about the food. We ordered two hamburgers; one with fries one with tater tots. As I watched three different tables waiting and looking around for their food, we waited 25 minutes in a half full restaurant to get an order they must do 100 times a day. The worst part about it, we received our order before two of the tables that were there before us. Our server never once checked on us or gave us an update on our order and didn't even bring our order out, another server did. I did not take a picture of the food because it was not worthy. The order came out on a small aluminum tray, about the same size as the check board they gave us. Half pound burger overdone by about 10 degrees dry and no seasoning noticeable. I had seven tater tots, my Wife had about 15 fries. Both sides were good, but I could get more for half the money at sonic. What really made us shake our heads, is two other tables ordered the same thing we did, yet theirs came out on full size plates with much larger sides. Did they run out of plates? I'll never know because I don't think I'll go back, but if I do, I'll make sure it's not 1.5 hours before closing, seems like everyone was trying to get out of there, the server put the check on the table halfway through our meal. Told us not to rush but bringing the check is the universal sign to get out heck of here, so we did. read more

We have eaten at Brandi's many times before. The wait for food is always very long. We deal with it because the breakfast is usually very good. Not today... After a 40 minute wait for food, my wife and I finally got ours. We both got chicken fried steak and eggs. Eggs were over cooked and cold. The hashbrowns were cold. The chicken fried steak was cold. So neither of us ate more than a bite or two of each item. We told our server and he said he was going to tell the manager. Instead, he brought our check. $45... He mistakenly put 4 sodas on our tab. We asked to speak to a manager. When she came, we showed her our plates, full of food. We told her all the food was cold and I wasn't comfortable paying $45 for food we didn't eat. She said she would make some adjustments. Then she disappeared for 10-15 minutes. During this time, other tables around us started talking to us about how bad their food tasted or the temperature of it. It seems that no one was having a positive experience. When the manager came back to our table, she said she had to make a phone call to adjust the check since she wasn't able to make those decisions. She ended up taking 10% off the bill. Seriously! 10% off for food we didn't eat. I told her she just lost a family of customers for life. She didn't seem to care and hovered over my shoulder until I signed my credit card slip. Then she walked behind us to the door and snarkily said "have a great rest of your day". I don't have high expectations for Brandi's. It's Decatur and it's a diner style breakfast and lunch joint. What I do expect is hot food. And when there is a problem, the staff takes care of it accordingly. I assure you, we are not the only people that will never go there again. read more

This was our first time trying this place out and I must say we were highly disappointed. We we were seated immediately without being greeted then we had to wait an hour before our food was served. The food was very mediocre. I ordered an sausage and egg omelet which has no flavor to it, no seasonings added. I ordered a side of hasbrowns and fruit and the hasbrowns were not fully cooked and had no seasoning added. I also ordered a side of fruit and got 2 grapes and 3 strawberries. My husband ordered the cowboy breakfast which also came with unseasoned potatoes. This place has a lot of potential and is decorated very nice but the food needs a little work. read more
