Not good customer service at all!! Workers are more concerned about each other rather than the customers. Avery, one of the cashiers rolled her eyes at us, and rung up the wrong clothes without saying sorry. While calling to make a complaint we could here the cashiers in the background laughing! Their clothes are very professional and fashionable it is a shame they have such poor customer service. I would rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

As countless other reviews have stated, maybe management should focus on hiring better staff instead of catty sorority girls to run their store. Every single time I've walked in here, I've never been greeted or offered any help, even if I'm the ONLY customer in the store. I am either straight up ignored and make my way around the store in silence, or the girls at the register are too busy gossiping to grace me with the gift of their attention. Yet numerous times, as soon as another girl walks in who is blonde/Caucasian, they are immediately greeted with a smile and the store employees trip over each other trying to offer their help. This is my daughter's all-time favorite clothing store, but both of us were not satisfied with this location. The fitting rooms only have curtains that you can draw across the doorway, and they do not match on to anything. I had to hold the curtain to the wall while my daughter was changing. Also, the store is so small and right on the street, so you feel like you're undressing on the fucking sidewalk. The doors are always open, so breezes come in and rip back the dressing room curtains so the mass crowds can walking down the sidewalk can see you half naked. PLEASE invest in something to keep those curtains closed. There are also only two dressing rooms and the lines are always long. Service was terrible. Only one girl at the register, and she only looked about 15. She was looking at her phone the entire time she was checking out our purchases, and when it pinged rather loudly, she looked at it and said "Fucking boyfriend!" loudly, and proceeded to tell us how he had "fucked up and slept with her best friend". WTF!! SO unprofessional. And how are they hiring these children!? I doubt she was even old enough to have a worker's permit. Place is also attrociously expensive anyway. Will not be returning to this tiny, cramped; and rude place again. read more

I would give this place no stars! First off, every size is SMALL. There is no other sizes but SMALL. Secondly, its extremely chaotic in their, no customer service at all. A bunch of teenage girls running around and standing in corners instead of working. In the age anti-body shaming why tf would anyone have a store that only has size small? Recently, I have found myself interested in brandy melville and their clothing items. I thought I was fortunate enough to have one locally & not have to travel/order online..but after this Id rather make the drive or wait for shipping. I want to start off by saying that all the 1 star & 2 star reviews are no joke, they are as accurate as can be...you're better off listening to them. I have walked into this store a handful of times & have ALWAYS gotten tremendous bad vibes from it. Each experience has been nothing but uncomfortable, regardless of how many times I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Friday I walked in alone and the store was not busy, the employees were doing their job organizing, therefore a greeting was not given...no problem. It wasn't until after I had tried ONE item on that this experience went south. I put my item back on the hanger & took it back to where I had gotten it from, just to give them visual evidence that I was in fact not interested in stealing anything. I then walked around some more to see if any items were of interest & the store at this point was empty leaving me & the employees alone. Few more people have trickled in but at this point the employees huddled into a corner & began secretly chatting amongst another. Confused, I turned to glance slightly & made eye contact with them. They ended their discussion shortly after & divided themselves in between the store. At this point I felt like all eyes were on me & left the store. A couple days ago, I went into this Brandy Melville location and had the worst experience. The employees were very rude and didn't even acknowledge me as I walked in but as soon as people that fit their "image" ( blonde white girls) walked in, they didn't hesitate to make them feel welcomed, unlike i did. There were a few girls working, and never once asked if I needed help. I asked the only girl that looked like she was doing her job for an item and she was kind enough to help me find the it, while the rest were gossiping behind the counter on their phones. I decided to try on a shirt in the fitting rooms and I can hear the employees talking very loudly about their co-workers saying who would they fire. I have three teenage girls. I should be Brandy Melville's dream shopper (not that they knew this when I walked in). But -- there were five people working in the tiny store. Nobody GREETED me, nobody offered to HELP me find anything, when I was struggling to reach a sweatshirt above my head, they simply LOOKED at me. Nobody had NAMETAGS, so it was tough to see who worked there since they were just standing around. I finally approached one girl twirling her hair looking bored in the corner. "Do you work here?" NODS. Doesn't even say a word. I asked for help reaching the sweatshirt, and she just looked over at a taller employee who could maybe reach it. I ended up selecting two things as Christmas gifts. Approached the counter....nobody acknowledged that I was standing there. Finally made eye contact with one of the girls, who reluctantly came over to help. She didn't SPEAK during the entire transaction. Didn't THANK me for the business. I thanked her, to which she said "uh-huh." Just...WOW. Not returning to this store unless bodily forced. read more

When my teenage daughter, who wears a size 2-4 walks out of that store thinking she's too big because nothing fit her, that's a problem. This store, which has a one size fits all motto, sends a poor message to young girls and hopes to make adolescents think you're cool if you are able to shop there. I don't know why everyone is leaving bad reviews! This store is so cute and the girls working there were nothing but nice and helpful to me and my friends. Even though the store was busy, they made time to help me pick out a gift for my sister. The store is very small so it was crowded but the workers were not just talking to each other at the registers, like other reviews have said, they were all doing their jobs and helping people. I went into Brandy Melville today because my daughter loves this store but unfortunately she had such a hard time finding pants that really fit her. My daughter was feeling so self conscious because she couldn't find pants that looked good on her. Then a friendly employee named Erin helped my daughter find a pair that ended up working out better than the ones she originally wanted. The other girls were so sweet as well and even gave us free stickers! I definitely will be coming back to this location soon! read more

Staff gossiped the whole time and did nothing to help out customers either. I also waited for a long ass time to checkout but was ignored by the employees who were too busy kiki-ing with each other and the dressing room took AGES + was a MESS. ok so basically i would say brandy melville is my go to place for clothing because it's very cute and good quality for an acceptable price. but being a young teenager walking into this store, they immediately look at you like your about to steal something. i've had very werid accounters with brandy workers but the one i had two days ago at this location was by far the worst. I walked into the store with a group of friends and i immediately saw two workers staring at us and whispering. I just thought it was really immature and ignored them. then, as i was telling the worker by the dressing rooms how many items i was gonna try on, she looked me up and down and whispered to her friend, "elle a l'air plutôt potelée" which if you don't speak french, means "she is looking chubby" i was so beyond offended and i told my friends what she said. they were in complete shock and put down their items and we left. read more

I would not consider myself the perfect "Brandy" girl. I'm short, asian, and average weight... Not fat but not skinny at the same time. The employees here are so rude. I walk in and they glare and give me dirty looks, not once asking to help me out. The past couple of times I have been here, this same skinny blonde worker has always been giving me looks so much to the fact I get nervous about walking into the store. Finally, yesterday I go in with a big bunch of clothes I was prepared to buy-- I gurantee the price would've been $500 AT LEAST. I have my pile and then she comes out. My friend and I, who is also a minority, got too uncomfortable so we left the store and dropped the piles of clothes on a counter. We then go into Tilly's where the worker follows us. We were in the back so she must've been trying to hunt us down. It was then where she accused us of shoplifting in such a nice manner that put us down. She asked if we by any chance took some things and forgot to put them back and specifally mentioned a necklace and red dress. We told her that we had left them exactly where we put them and then she raced back to the store and we did not see her since. What frustrates me is she just jumped to conclusions, didn't walk around the TINY store to possibly find the 'missing' clothes, or even just simply check the security camera. To be accused of shoplifting after I have given so much money to Brandy is just so absolutely beyond that I fucking created a Yelp account to write a bad review. read more

I have been to Brandy all over the west coast and HI. This one is truly the best! They have an amazing variety but most of all the employees are fantastic. If you live in the LA/OC area I highly recommend avoiding the arrogance/elitist of the southern employees and head north where they are not only beautiful but helpful and well informed. read more

I have taken my daughter in to Brandy Melville a handful of times. My daughter loves the store and the clothes but I have been disappointed each time to see all of the employees on their phones the majority of the time, not engaging with any of the customers (by not saying hello or asking if anyone needs assistance) or trying on the clothes themselves and asking each other if they like them. Everything was fine, I always go into this location with my friends. I've been reading most of the reviews too and I saw a lot of people talking about not being a skinny blonde white girl and therefore getting different treatment, and neither I nor most of my friends fit that description either. So me and my friend have been window shopping a lot and going into different stores to check what we wanted so we could order them online, and of course we all know that Brandy has a mostly one size only fitting. Anyways, the last few times I have gone in with one of my friends there has been this blonde worker there and she's always staring at us or my friend said she has seen them whispering and pointing at us etc. So yesterday we go in because we were planning on ordering some clothes online after school had ended to reward ourselves of a tough year. We see her and at first I'm like okay whatever and she smiles at me, I smile back thinking why is she doing that after our past treatment from her. Me and my friend share an "I'm uncomfortable" look so we decide to leave because she's still glaring at us as. So we leave the clothes in the store and leave, we walk into LF to look around and talk to the store attenders about school and stuff, they were really nice. And then we go down to Tilly's. We look around the front for a bit and then go to the back where the sale rack is... When to our surprise, that same blonde worker comes up to us and asks us if we had just been in Brandy Melville, we said yes, and then she asked if we had "by any chance forgot to put stuff back". Okay first of all, HOW DID SHE FIND US?! Second of all we had left the clothes right by the door before leaving and surely if she had looked before stalking us down the street, she would have realised that just because we aren't skinny tall white girls doesn't make us thieves. I have loved Brandy Melville for a long time now and it was my absolute favorite store to shop in. I knew I could always find something cute to wear there since it's a "trendy" store. But the last time I went with my friends I tried on a couple clothes and I asked my friend to come in to see if it was cute. Then a worker said there can't be two people in one dressing room and I understood since its policy. So, my friend walked out the dressing room. Then I finish up and I come out and my friend whispers to me how it was a little rude that the worker told her that she couldn't be in there and I just said whatever its over and I realize that the same worker is staring at us and listening giving us a dirty look. My friends and I decided to leave the store since we couldn't find anything to buy. Next thing I know the same worker stops me and says she found a price tag in my dressing room so she wants to check my bag. First of all I left all the clothes I tried on in the dressing room so she could've just seen which shirt it belonged to. Also, I had a small messenger that turns into a wallet and there was no way any item could fit in that. But I opened my bag anyways and she seems a little disappointed that she didn't find anything. Moving on, it's a little weird that she didn't question my friend at all to check her bag or anything since she was also in the dressing room. I felt embarrassed and discriminated in front of everybody. Brandy Melville was my all time favorite store but now I refuse to buy anything from that store again. read more

Today I went into Brandy Melville and a mentally disabled man was being mocked by the employees to customers. After he left, several employees were standing in a corner laughing and making fun of him for being schizophrenic. When I applied to this location, I was told I did not need a resume or cover letter, just to give my Instagram handle. This was not one instance, but several, by different employees. Unfortunately, cliquey 16 year old blondes who do not look up from their phones to offer customers any form of help are better suited for employment at this location. I have never seen a person of color working at this store. I've been shopping here for seven years, and have tried to make excuses for this store as they fat shamed, stole from artists, made shirts glorifying depression, had tobacco themed graphics marketed towards children, and their lack of diversity. Congratulations for having a token fair skinned black model this time around brandy, but I'm sure this is due to marketing purposes and not any form of responsibility for your racism. The company also blocked my best friend on Instagram after they made a comment to Brandy pleading for more diversity. Hearing these girls publicly mock a disabled man in front of customers is not only unprofessional but inhumane. I don't think the high school "brandy girls" have made an impression on the adults who shop here with their children. Perhaps hire based on something aside from their Instagram profile, whatever that means (I have thousands of followers but didn't "make the cut"), because apparently being a helpful or friendly retail worker is insignificant to the hiring process. read more
