I went here due to losing the keys to my SentrySafe box. I brought the box in and the lady instantly got to making a key. Even checked to make sure that the key worked in it. The price for a replacement key was $13 and for any duplicates afterwards was $4. I would definitely come back here for any locksmith needs. read more

Pro: The staff was polite, friendly and helpful. Con: I called this store in the morning to determine if they could make a key for my Honda Civic. I asked if they could provide an exact key and the cost. I explained exactly what I needed and was quoted a price between $10 and $40. Later that afternoon I drove to have the key made. However, when I went to pay, they charged me $134. Wow! I was shocked at paying more than three times as much. I told them I was quoted $40, but they disregarded my complaint. I had no choice but to pay it. I am disappointed in this lack of integrity and the worst part was they were highly recommended by another business to be good and reasonably priced. Not my experience. After calling other places, it was clear to us that these people are professionals at what they do. these people know what they are doing! They replaced some old deadbolts for us and rekeyed the others doors. They are reliable and their charges were reasonable. read more

Went back the other day just at closing, which anyone in their right mind hates when you run a shop. They were backed up, but treated me like gold, and did this amazing job, as always. Jeremy went above and beyond on a recent service call. He rekeyed the locks, which was relatively straightforward. On top of that, as part of the service call: (o) He explained why the new deadbolt that I previously purchased online could not be keyed to match my front door. (Thereby saving me money before I opened the package, so I could return it.) He explained the various keyway options and sizes, so I can now look for a lockset online that will work. (o) He got two doors "unstuck," identified the problem in the door, and discussed how to fix them. (The solution requires a carpenter, not a locksmith.) (o) He identified two problems with one of my deadbolts, and he got the shop to order replacment parts. I was very pleased with the extra time he spent. What a joke. I called Brandy's Lock and Key Valparaiso to help me out with locking my keys inside my vehicle. I was told from a co-worker who had to use them a few weeks ago for the same thing. I was told that they got charged 60 dollars to come and unlock the door for my coworker. I wasn't happy about the price but hey I was the dim wit who did it at 4 a.m. in the morning and was willing to pay $60 dollars but because the jerk who answered the phone told me $65. Stick it where the sun don't shine. I was told by the person that answered the phone that it is $60 for in town but where I was located I would be charged $65 dollars. I was located literally 2.2 miles down the street from them off of calumet ave. and burlington beach rd. Luckily an awesome company by the name of Precision Towing out of Portage came and unlocked my door happily for only $40 dollars. So save your money and call Precision Towing in Portage, IN. They got to my work in 15 minutes too. Not a long wait at all. read more

Brandy's Lock & Key Shop...... what a great local business this is. It's located just Northwest of the heart of Valparaiso IN. I have just bought a house and wanted all my exterior locks changed out so I knew no one would have keys but my family and I. 25+ locks was a lot to do but the tech they sent out was up for the task. Man was he great and fast. It was not that expensive either. I had a lot less locks at my old house and the price was almost the same. I had a noon appointment and it only took 2hrs and 40mins and that's with me going to every lock and tearing every key. I felt really bad for the guy seeing it was 95+ degrees outside and his shirt was almost completely drenched with sweat when he was done. My mother had lost the keys to her Sentry box and had several locked china cabinets that were also missing keys. We carried the box into the store, and they fabricated a key for the Sentry box and also sold us a skeleton key that opened all her cabinets. read more

I was having issues with my key not turning in my ignition, the auto shop said I was probably going to need the key - turny part replaced ( I can't remember the name of the device, just that it cost almost $200 where they sent me). Anyway I lived down the street from Brandy's and wondered in to see if they had any suggestions. It was snowing and about 15 degrees out and the teenage guy working the counter who I had little faith in wondered outside and checked things out. He told me he thought they key was just worn out and let him try a couple things. After about 20 minutes and a couple tries he handed me a key for a couple of bucks and I have had no issues starting the car since. Don't let the young staff full you, they know what they're doing.
