So I told them to put me on the list and that I was going to try to reach another locksmith as I was supposed to be at work! I did call the other locksmith in the area, no answer for one, and the other one answered and told me that his technician would be reaching out to me. When the 45 minutes came up, Tom had called me back from Hoosier Locksmith and said that he was five minutes away, he showed up, he was professional, courteous, and very nice. Overall, even helped me look for my keys in the car when they were not where I thought they were going above and beyond. Their labor rate must be between $900 -1000.00 per hour Then gave a $674.00 quote for a new opener and asked if I wanted to replace the opener. As he did not actually do any kind of service or repair, what was I charged $150.00 for? Obviously, I will not be using this company again as they lack ethics and integrity. Garage door openers are about $140.00 - 175.00 at most hardware stores. Why would I pay this company almost $700.00? Update: No one stated that I would be charged $150.00 just to have your person show up and do nothing. How do you stand by that kind of 'pricing'. That is called fraud and unethical. Nathan C obviously is okay with ripping off a potential customer. His comments prove that the company doesn't care about customer satisfaction, value or integrity.

I had lost my only remaining key to my Miata. The Mazda dealership told me I would have to have my car towed to them (50 miles) so they could create and program a new key. Hoping to avoid the expense of a tow, I did an online search for locksmiths who could make and program keys for automobiles, and found Pop-A-Lock of Northwest Indiana. Chad was at my house within two hours of my call. He created a duplicate key from scratch, but then had difficulty linking my vehicle id number with a program for key to make it start. Chad contacted Mazda USA directly, and through them found that my car never did have a programmable key. A tow to the Mazda dealership would have been a complete waste! The new key worked in every lock except the ignition. Chad patiently went through every protocol to make that key start my car, but in the end determined that I needed a new ignition. This made sense to me, because the car has over 100,000 miles on it and I had been having trouble with the old key sticking. Chad ordered the new ignition and installed it within the week. I have been quite pleased with the service I received from Pop-A-Lock of Northwest Indiana. Chad is very knowledgeable, reliable, honest and fair. I cannot recommend him enough for any of your locksmith needs. read more

This is my first 1st Yelp review. I set an appointment with Pop a Lock and was greatly satisfied with the service provided. Chad showed up on time to make a new key for my car as I thought the chip was flawed and I only had one key and fob, which the latter only remote starts, none of the other functions work on the original fob. When I called for the appointment, Chad was very informative and offered other alternates and even suggested that I didn't need his services. My car wouldn't start because the battery had died, but I did want a second set of key and fob, so though he was trying to save me money, I did need his services. This is not the first time I used Pop a Lock, but if I need lock assistance again, they will be the first call I make. My new key and fob work correctly and cost less than what the dealer quoted. read more

Pop a lock saved me! No other company could give me a definite answer, and one even left me waiting on a technician that never showed up. Then I called pop a lock, and they showed up in under 15 mins. Only charged me the flat rate which he had told me ahead of time, and had it done in no time, not to mention was incredibly friendly. Chad was very Professional and took care of my problem. I broke my chip key for my car. He made me a new key right there on the spot in about half an hour. The price was also reasonable. I hope I never have to use a locksmithing service again, but if I do, I'll call pop a lock. read more

He would only program it if I bought one of his remotes then I asked for the cost. I said would be $100.00 . He said oh it will be well over $100 .00 plus the re- program fee. I said thank you and left. I went to my other place that was 30 min a way and they programmed it for $20.00 . l was trying to give a local company business but never again. I will not recommend them to anyone after this experience. This is second time it's happened. He either didn't know how to do it or he must of just been try to make money off his customer .
