Fitting right in with the times this bright, big, sparkly well lit diner offers take out, curbside pick up and indoor seating. Seriously speaking I don't know if I've ever seen a menu with so many selections to satisfy any appetite. Oversized portions that will leave most walking out with leftovers for later or the next day. After navigating through their sanitized menu ( I saw them cleaning them after every use). I decided on Veal Piccata with a couple of sides and a cup of Chicken Florentine to start. Brandywine Diner is associated with Springfield Diner in Delaware County, PA. It's got that classic diner feel, space, and selection (which is about everything you can imagine). I didn't feel like they had much regard for social distancing as tables were very close together and they looked like they were at near capacity seating. If you're concerned about that, this is not the place to go. As for the menu, I'm sure there's a lot we have to explore. However, the dishes we ordered were not them. My wife got the chicken kabobs. Not great. My son got a spaghetti kids meal. Too watery. I got one of the specials, prime rib. It wasn't very good. Too tough. Not the best cut of beef. Big portion, though. The sides I had were hit (fries) or miss (zucchini). I'd be okay with trying it again, but my wife was not happy with the experience. read more

Very good diner. You would think that you are in Jersey! Yesterday we had lunch and it was delicious. I had the Turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes. Amazing!! The gravy was excellent!! The Turkey was moist!! So happy with this dish!! My wife had the macaroni and cheese with crab cake.... crab cake?! It was a crab loaf!! HUGE CRABCAKE!! We are having breakfast this morning. I had the #1 special. My wife had the French toast special. The specials come with juice and coffee or tea. Great value! The foos was very good. I have made several visits to the Brandywine Diner while traveling to this area on business. The food is very good (with an exception to be called out later). The selection on the menu is wide-ranging. With an emphasis on Greek and Italian dishes. The exception to the quality of food was when I ordered biscuits and gravy. The accompanying home fries were hot, but the gravy was room temperature. I have been here a handful of times, and this has been the only disappointment thus far. General Review: Food was very mid and was too pricy. Service was worse, and somehow the atmosphere was the even worse than the service. Do yourself a favor, go to every diner in the area but this one. 1 Star is generous. Specifics: Food came out quick, but wasn't good at all. But the worst part, I asked for a to go box, to go cup, and the check. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, i'm still sitting there, anxious as heck, waiting for the waiter (who shall remain nameless) to give me some to go boxes and the check so I can leave. 35 minutes later, STILL NOT CHECK OR TO GO BOXES. Finally, I think the manager? Comes near my table, I tell him I've been waiting 35 minutes for a check. He Tells ME to go to the front to pay for myself. At a SIT DOWN RESTAURANT. I pay $21 for terrible service and mid food. I should have walked out. But wait there is more... I leave the restaurant so upset, I walk back in and want to leave a in person review. The Manager, says "no need to be upset". When I clearly was not tended to with there full attention and care. Saw there was a new diner in the area since last visit. Seemed like there was a good crowd. Decided to try it. Found out the attraction is the quantity of the food served. Obviously, it wasn't the quality. Crab cakes had the consistency of oatmeal...and... actually, the same flavor. French onion soup was the same as the Knox powdered French onion. Skip it Cheeseburger was okay but even a McDonalds is tastier. If you want a lot of food this is the place for you. If you want flavorful food cooked properly skip it. This is diner like I am used to. They have an extensive menu including seafood, poultry, pasta, sandwiches, entrees, etc. The serving sizes are substantial. I had the steak house salad today. The greens were fresh and plentiful but the strips of steak were only ok. We were seated right away. Service was quick and courteous. The place was quiet and appeared clean. Parking is ample and there is an Olive Garden and TGI Friday's in the same plaza where this diner is located. I have to use a wheelchair when I'm out and about and the Brandywine Diner is easily accessible. I have eaten at this diner several times and the service and food is consistent. This is not a fancy or gourmet restaurant but the food is good, there is a wide variety available, and the prices are reasonable. read more

We are back again for a delicious breakfast after appointment. I tried the California Omelette (contains Avocado, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Green peppers, Onions and Cheese). Comes with toast of your choice and hash browns. My entree was perfect. My husband had Two eggs over medium with sausage and toast. I took away a star as he has had the same issue with his eggs every time. The eggs are almost soupy raw not Over Medium. Not sure how to correct this for the next time. read more

I received everything in timely order except the sausage. The server said that I'd receive it shortly. In less than two minutes I received a properly cooked Italian sausage. I was looking forward to a classic diner experience after rave reviews from a couple of friends. However, I was very disappointed. I ordered their blue cheese burger and was stunned when it arrived. It was a pre-formed frozen patty on a bun. It was over cooked and had absolutely no taste. The mini side of coleslaw (in a small plastic container that you would use for salad dressing for take out) was the only tasty part of the meal, which was about 2 forkfuls. I was expecting a juicy burger, but what I got was a hockey puck. Won't be going back! read more

This Diner was excellent when it first opened. Really brought me back to my days in NJ and our cherished diner scene. Specials, "complete" meals, huge salads, Greek additions etc. All awesome. Horribly downhill from there. Overall quality dive. The kitchen is really lacking execution. Zero attn to detail. My Greek salad came with only 2 of the 5+ toppings. No peppers, cukes, anchovies. Our tuna melt came as a grilled sandwich, not open faced, and horribly sloppy, almost nasty. The fries are the cheapest kind possibly sourced. Soggy and brown. Our side Greek salad was meant in place of the nasty fries, but was just lettuce, and tomato. Nothing Greek. Crazy thing was that all this food was dropped to us and WE had to speak up out the glaring issues with it. Only for the server, who ran the food, to seem lost and surprised. The customers next to us were furious with their situation as well. Must've been 3-4 floor mgmt personalities strolling around, not checking or asking customers anything. Servers visibly barehanded adding fries and pickles to plates from the open kitchen doors. Who's running things??? We paid in full and left almost laughing at what we'd experienced. Ordered a French dip and the New Orleans style chicken. The portions are enormous and, nowhere on the menu does it say that bacon is a big part of the chicken sandwich. See photo. I've eaten here a couple of times and got the same thing both times - pancakes with strawberries. The pancakes themselves are delicious! Both times, though, the strawberries were in bad shape and I couldn't eat most of them. Bruised, bad spots, soft, etc. Also, the water doesn't taste good. Service is okay. Portions were ample but our fried seafood dinner saw signs of of needing a better chef to make sure the seafood was cooked completely while some of the fried flounder was over cooked! chicken parm was ok big serving.. we added a side of apple sauce which was crazy high dollar for the size and it looks like they hiked the price of drinks! I've been here for breakfast a few times and now feel qualified to write a reasonably informed review (keeping in mind that it has only recently opened and that I have not yet been here for lunch or dinner). First-off ... the decor. This place initially caught my eye from the road during it's construction. My family is from the Jersey Shore and as the building started to take shape, I noticed the same gleaming aluminum siding, neon lighting, and scalloped accents reminiscent of so many of those '50's-style, old-school classic roadside New Jersey diners that dot their way along the coast. This same art deco retro styling continues to flow as one enters the restaurant throuhh the spacious, high-ceilinged atrium and into the dining room. Desserts are on display in a well-lit, glass-enclosed case under the front counter. There are three distinct main dining areas and a coffee counter, though the floorplan retains an open layout. Food ... Everything I have had off the breakfast menu has been excellent. The menu is huge and appears to offer something for everyone (although I doubt it is Halal or Kosher for people with those dietary needs). Although I don't personally love the particular restaurant plaza the diner is located in (just because of how busy parking and navigating in the lot can be), it is ideally situated along 202. Given the quality of the food, the portions, and the reasonable pricing, I think Brandywine Diner is going to present a serious competitive challenge for some of the other restaurants filling this particular niche in the area. Cleanliness ... At the times we've been there, even when busy, the restaurant has appeared spotless. Hours ... Right now, it looks like the Diner is open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.. I don't know if they plan on operating late-night hours as COVID-19 restrictions lift or if their lease in this plaza prevents them from doing so. Alcohol ... I didn't see any there. Some diners have alcohol, some don't. Just mentioning it here in case that's important to any readers. Service ... So far, service has been excellent. The owners also have a restaurant in Springfield which is temporarily closed because of COVID-19 restrictions and it's my understanding that several of the employees from that location have temporarily come here so they could keep working. As the Pandemic situation eventually improves (and it WILL improve), and some of those employees return to the Springfield location, it is my sincere hope that the same level of service will be maintained. Gripes ... I have only one gripe so far. I recently did a takeout order for my family and when we unpacked everything, we were dismayed to find that we hadn't received some of the side accompaniments that were supposed to come with the order. (Strawberries & Cream, butter, forks etc.). Nothing major, but still, we didn't get everything we paid for. Granted, the diner was busy, the phone was ringing, etc. My family has owned restaurants the past and I know how easy it can be to forget to pack something for a takeout order since you just don't see everything laid-out in front of you like at a table. It would just be nice to see a little more care taken the next time. We'll definitely be back though! I'll provide an update on the place once we've tried other parts of the menu. read more

For us it was a zero tonight. I honestly can not find one positive thing to write. This was our first time, service was poor at best. I ordered scrambled eggs with ham and onions and home fries. I received scrambled eggs only. I mentioned it to our waitress and she did nothing. My husband ordered the cheeseburger with bacon...he received a hockey puck with no bacon. We asked for ketchup twice both times received empty bottles. The presentation of the food is something you can do yourself. We probably will go back but not for a few months. We ate there today and maybe the worst meal I have ever had. I ordered fried shrimp which was over breaded and over fried. The salad that came with it had lettuce, one half of a tomato, 2 cucumbers and some red onion. Dressing was almost tasteless. The baked potato was cold and green beans were so watery they were inedible. One of our party had the fried fish platter and same treatment as the fried shrimp. Meat load entree looked like some kind of processed meat covered in gravy with cold mashed potatoes. Fourth diner ordered a roast beef wrap and sad to say it did not stay long in his stomach. Been here a few times and the food along with the service is fantastic. A true old time diner with lots of different options to choose from along with some tasty desserts. I've had the open faced turkey sandwich, an omelette, a club sandwich just to mention a couple of things.....everything has been delicious. This is the absolute worst place I have ever eaten at. My husband and I stayed at one of the hotels near by and thought to try them out. The only good thing about the diner was our waitress and the salad. The food had no flavor, and tasted old. You are better off going elsewhere and save your stomachs...we were sick after eating here. Then there were flies, now I understand sometimes you'll see flies on occasion but these were flies as in multiple flies...not good.
