This takes me to Wilmington, the largest city in Delaware where I had the opportunity to try out "Opa Opa". Located at the Village of Trolley Square strip mall and adjacent to Delaware Ave & N. Clayton St., this place has been serving up delicious Greek food dating back to 2015. I came here with my lady during the afternoon of Friday 10/10/2025 at around 2:45pm. The interior is bright, spacious, ample room for dining in, and pays homage to the blue and white Greek colors. Additionally, there are several art pieces that represent some of the more popular Greek destinations. Sodas, water, and other various beverages are available in a refrigerator across from the register/counter area. Since I was very hungry (and on my way north to Philadelphia), I decided to go with something that will carry me through the rest of the afternoon. I finally decided on their "Chicken Gyro Platter" w/fries. My lady went with their "Grilled Chicken Greek Salad". We didn't get any drinks as our waters is all we needed to enjoy our lunch. Both of our meals are ready in just under 7 minutes while everything is presented to us in a quick and timely manner. I do have to say that if you're starving, this is the place to come! My gyro was a very generous portion that offered huge chucks of seasoned chicken. In fact, the chicken to veggie ratio was 2:1 as they did not skimp on the protein. My pita bread that encased this was warm and made each bite very savory. The fries were also made well; crispy yet soft on the inside. And as you can see from the photo, the salad that my lady got was also huge. As I mentioned, come hungry and you will leave very full. All in all, "Opa Opa" was a very pleasant surprise as Wilmington offers a lot of ethnic food in all directions. This place also offers very generous hours as they are opened for business Monday through Saturday from 10:30am-10:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am-9:00pm. With above average customer service, a spacious inside dining area, reasonable prices, and generous food portions, this place earns a perfect five-star rating from me.

Try something that's very similar and not as much as they charge you.

A village salad, which I expected to be a Horiatiki, was just tiny cubes of tomato and cucumber in a strong red wine vinegar. Red wine vinegar was so overwhelming that it caused my throat to close up and choke. I was unable to eat it. And the cheesecake texture was that of something that had dried out in the refrigerator for a week. Worst meal I've had out in a very long time. Absolutely not ever eat there again.

Review: Our experience at Brandywine Diner last night was extremely disappointing. The food quality was subpar across the board. My daughter's french fries with cheese lacked any semblance of moisture, with the cheese being particularly dry. My sausage, onion, and pepper roll tasted like overcooked beef or pork jerky, lacking any juiciness or flavor. Even the simple hotcakes and sausage my son ordered were a letdown, with the sausage being so dry it snapped in half without any moisture. Overall, I strongly advise against dining at this establishment. Brandywine Diner needs to urgently improve its standards to provide customers with a satisfactory dining experience. An extensive menu and the food was excellent. The service was good and the prices were also reasonable. Only one problem. I ordered the Fish and Chips and, because I was breaking a 48-hour fast and ravenous, I also asked for an extra order of French Fries. It's a good thing I did because the fish (a generous helping) was served with POTATO CHIPS! I've often ordered Fish and Chips elsewhere and have always gotten fried potatoes, usually French Fries or Steak Fries. The fish was delicious as was the side order of fries but I hate potato chips. I am absolutely disgusted with an altercation that I witnessed at Brandywine diner Saturday night. The man who seated us verbally assaulted a waitress and reduced her to tears. He called her a bitch and berated her in front of our table. I will never return to this establishment after witnessing such a shocking event.
