It's been over a year since I was last in the area. I was hungry for a solid diner breakfast and headed straight here. Walked in and it felt like I was just here yesterday. The massive dessert case greeted me, brimming with colorful delicious-looking pastries, cakes, and pies. I was seated promptly and handed menus which included their specials of the day; everything from lasagna to moussaka to stuffed peppers to barbecue ribs. My waitress, Dee, came over to ask for my drink and went away with my order. She appeared again quickly with my coffee, which was hot, and honestly - better than the standard cup of coffee in most places. Mmmm As I waited for my order I couldn't help but notice how happy their patrons are. It's 1:30pm on a weekday so I see a lot of people who look like retirees, along with a smattering younger diners and some folks in work uniforms. A couple was leaving and stopped to have a friendly conversation with one of the people who worked there. It's obvious they've known each other for a while, regulars. A table over starting singing "Happy Birthday" to their friend. The 70's and 80's songs were enjoyable without curbing conversation. My food came out faster than expected and was piping hot. Toast options are white, wheat, or rye. I requested it dry as I don't want it slathered with margarine or something unidentifiable. It came dry but they included two mini containers of real butter with it. Heaven! Dee came over and checked on me in a bit, offered me more coffee. More yum. Mmmm. Total cost for a Florentine omelette (spinach and feta cheese), a whole lot of home fried potatoes, two slices of toasted bread with real butter and jelly, coffee, and a comfortable friendly atmosphere: $14.45. I couldn't finish it and took about 1/3 of the plate home for later. I have no idea why they're not between 4-5 stars for a diner. Food is solid, coffee is fresh and hot, service is quick and friendly. I think they're worth every penny.

Strike 1: I would've liked to give this diner four stars, but a few things were off-putting. When the host seated us at a booth, the cash tip from the party that came before us was still on the table. So when our server came to our table she noticed it, stretched over us and grabbed it, grumbling to herself. I guess she was annoyed that it was still there but the least she could've done is say excuse me, or pardon me. It was awkward and kind of rude. Strike 2: What was I thinking, daring to ask the server a question about something on the menu. Her attitude and answer made it clear that she couldn't be bothered to answer. Redeeming quality 1: The food was pretty good. I had a buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and a side of blue cheese dip which was decent. The fries seemed hand-cut which is a plus. My son had a cheesesteak sandwich he enjoyed and my husband had a California burger (I think) that he really liked. Quality 2: The cake and dessert selection goes pretty deep! Thinking of returning one day just for dessert. I would say it is worth the visit after all.

The food was not good at all. I ordered eggs. They were ok. I had scrapple that came out over cooked. I sent it back and it came out better, but it didn't taste good. I sent it back and asked for bacon. The bacon wasn't good. Their home fries were mashed Potatoes and they fried them. Not good. I didn't eat much of my food. I left it. My apple juice was good. My server was very accommodating and nice. That's the 1 star. I won't be back here.

We had a group of approximately 35 walk in on them after a baseball game ... they were extremely accommodating, set tables together so we all could eat together ... the food was hot fresh and surprisingly fast. I had a ny strip cooked medium well with Brussels Sprouts. Cook perfectly and the Brussels sprouts were tender . My son wanted chocolate chips pancakes with sausage. We had 14 different bills and the handled it professionally and with expertise.... And the desserts .... Wow ... so was the coffee ... just great !!!! Don't pass this one up ... Alex the owner made sure we were happy and Dominic one of our serves held the attention of the boys while he did his job !! Great people and great food

The diner is sizable with a nice atmosphere. The entrance and waiting area is a nice size also. The dessert counter is nice as well. We stopped in for breakfast. The parking lot and most tables were full. We waited maybe 5 minutes to be seated. The diner was extremely busy, the kitchen was a little backed up, but they worked it out. We ordered eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, cream chipped beef, toast, English muffin, and coffee. Everything came out piping hot and cooked as requested (to perfection). The server had many tables and managed to provide good service. If ever in the area again I will sure stop by to have a meal.

Corned Beef Hash with scrambled eggs

Despite the fairly low reviews, I decided to give Brandywine Diner a chance for breakfast due to the nearby hotel I was staying at not having a breakfast option. I ordered the Two Egg Meal (scrambled) with Corned Beef Hash. I immediately realized my toast was missing and I was so disappointed in both the presentation and flavor of the meal. The eggs were your standard dinner scrambled quality (unseasoned, textureless) but what really caught me off guard was the corned beef hash. It looked like it had been plopped straight out of a container into my to go box, and was very unappealing too look at. The hash browns were also flavorless and seemed a bit watered down somehow. The only area I will give a star to is that the quantity of food was pretty good for the price. Overall, I would not recommend breakfast here. Even though the restaurant seemed packed on a Saturday morning, it was definitely not to my standards (especially for such a basic and easy breakfast to master!) Will not be back the next time I'm in Wilmington. Price: 4/5 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 2/5

We went here in 2022 while traveling with our youth group. I had a seafood dish and was satisfied as was our entire group. The waitress was very friendly and talked with us while she made sure we had everything we needed. At the end of the meal she told us the bill had been taken care of. She paid our bill which was probably more than she would have made all night. I don't know what moved her we had a few kids who did have much money because it was the end of our trip but no one told her. I will never forget this experience.

Brandywine Diner, Wilmington, DE. Different cheesesteak #1124 in the last five years. I'm a diner fan. Pickle, little cup of coleslaw and a side, gotta love it. I went to Brandywine diner with low expectations. On the menu in the Panini & wraps section I saw a cheesesteak wrap. I asked if they could make me a cheesesteak panini. Without hesitation, the waitress said yes. It had a lot of flavor. I forgot how much I like Ciabatta bread. All things considered this was a good stop.

Great food and service. We've been fortunate to have Dawn as our waitress a couple of times now and the experience has been excellent.

This takes me to Wilmington, the largest city in Delaware where I had the opportunity to try out "Opa Opa". Located at the Village of Trolley Square strip mall and adjacent to Delaware Ave & N. Clayton St., this place has been serving up delicious Greek food dating back to 2015. I came here with my lady during the afternoon of Friday 10/10/2025 at around 2:45pm. The interior is bright, spacious, ample room for dining in, and pays homage to the blue and white Greek colors. Additionally, there are several art pieces that represent some of the more popular Greek destinations. Sodas, water, and other various beverages are available in a refrigerator across from the register/counter area. Since I was very hungry (and on my way north to Philadelphia), I decided to go with something that will carry me through the rest of the afternoon. I finally decided on their "Chicken Gyro Platter" w/fries. My lady went with their "Grilled Chicken Greek Salad". We didn't get any drinks as our waters is all we needed to enjoy our lunch. Both of our meals are ready in just under 7 minutes while everything is presented to us in a quick and timely manner. I do have to say that if you're starving, this is the place to come! My gyro was a very generous portion that offered huge chucks of seasoned chicken. In fact, the chicken to veggie ratio was 2:1 as they did not skimp on the protein. My pita bread that encased this was warm and made each bite very savory. The fries were also made well; crispy yet soft on the inside. And as you can see from the photo, the salad that my lady got was also huge. As I mentioned, come hungry and you will leave very full. All in all, "Opa Opa" was a very pleasant surprise as Wilmington offers a lot of ethnic food in all directions. This place also offers very generous hours as they are opened for business Monday through Saturday from 10:30am-10:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am-9:00pm. With above average customer service, a spacious inside dining area, reasonable prices, and generous food portions, this place earns a perfect five-star rating from me.

if i am being honest 3.5 stars would be better…read more now let's start with the good part. the gyro is delicious! I went out of my way to come here for lunch after i saw a facebook post from the cheese steak adventures's guy pop up! it was from a while ago but i figured if he liked it... why not? the pita is really good. chewy. warm and moist. i got the classic (more to come) which is basically a gyro with the fixin's. lamb and fries tzsatiki. perfect. now let's move on to the staff and the restaurant overall. there are so many things wrong. the website will not let you honor several of the lunch specials. if you click on certain links they're no good. dont try to use them, since you will get to the restaurant and they will charge you for whatever the order would have been. i mean i want to save two bucks like everyone else. next, i'm going to agree with the many other reviews... why in the world can you NOT get sauce on the side if you pay for it? do they not have any lil cups?! i looked around this place is pretty cut and dry. i know it sounds like BS but i think they dont have those lil tiny cups. ...then there is the staff. i want so badly for them to hire the 'local lady who answers the phone'. they need it in the worst way. the guy who picks up is as fun as paint drying. it's a huge turn off for folks who know the food is good but the staff is not. will i be back... ?you damn right. but i am going to avoid a bunch of things from the jump: i'm only ordering online, if there is an upsell for sides and they do not have them i will just ask for my money back. they use toast for their ordering system and they will honor refunds if need be, and park around back. they have 2 spaces, the staff is using them too! i really hope things turn around in this location. they are not in philly anymore. it's the 'burbs baby!

Gave it one more shot today but I seriously doubt I will be back. The manager himself acted like…read moreit's too hard to go to the back of the store(which is how he put it) and fill in a very small amount of feta spread in a mini cup, even though I paid two extra dollars for it, like he was being inconvenienced . He also had to for whatever reason try and make a point that, if I got it on the side. He made sure I knew that he was only gonna do it this time. Like, whatever already. lol In the past, this was not an issue. Also, there's an option to get your fries on the side instead of in the pita and he literally gave three french fries in a bag separate. (granted, I'm not expecting obviously a whole bag of fries but come on.) Out of the past three or four times they've forgotten many things in my food and I haven't really said anything(because the employees were actually nice at the time, but not the owner tonight), and this is ridiculous now. Oh, and they got my appetizer wrong tonight. I asked for FETA Mini Phyllo Pies. They got it completely wrong and gave me spinach. If the manager/owner wasn't so rude then I wouldn't be so upset right now especially since I let them slide so many times.
