I'm a vegetarian so I asked about options when booking. They had a few selections that were vegetarian (mashed potatoes and white gravy, salad bar, rice, and an assortment of desserts). Because we ordered tickets in advance they also said they could make a special vegetable penne pasta specifically for me. The food was decent, not stupendous but not bad. And it's buffet style so the portions were decent. The show was great. Funny with a lot of audience participation. Some of the magic tricks were obvious but others had my group scratching their heads trying to figure out how it was done. And one trick really blew us away. If you go to the show, I'm sure you'll figure out which one I mean. Now the only downside is that I am disabled with a wide powerchair (27 inches) and it wouldn't fit through the stall door of the restroom at the theater. So I had to wait til I got back home to use the restroom. A minor inconvenience but worth noting. All in all a good experience.

The man singing during our dinner time was 22 years old and sang Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and took some requests. He closed out with some country music. In total, we spent about $71 for our burgers & fries, 2 desserts (they were $10 a piece), and tip for the singer + tip for our waitress plus tax. Do I think $71 is a lot for this little diner.... yes. But was $17 of that towards tipping alone... also yes. Realistically we spent about $50 on dinner itself. We had a wonderful evening aboard the Silver Dollar City Showboat. We upgraded to Captain's Club…read moretickets, and it made all the difference. From where we started at the White River Landing, everything was smooth and well organized. The landing itself is charming, especially in the evening with string lights and a couple of shops designed to match the showboat's vintage aesthetic. There was a dedicated priority boarding line for Captain's Club guests that started on time and before general admission, so we avoided any wait. Staff efficiently guided us through boarding (complete with photo opportunity with an option to purchase later) and to our seats in the dining area. The dining experience was outstanding thanks to our attentive server and other dining staff. With Captain's Club, we enjoyed a menu to choose from, were served ahead of the general admission guests, and the food arrived quickly. During dinner, the show with the Rivertown Ramblers was energetic, also well-organized, and highly entertaining. The talented vocalists and musicians delivered a fantastic performance. The combination of the scenic cruise, great food, priority service, and live entertainment made for a memorable evening and one of the highlights of our Branson trip. I highly recommend the Showboat to anyone visiting and definitely upgrade to Captain's Club if you can.

Anyway we explained to a manager of our dilemma & he was very helpful in getting us the right seating. Anyway kudos to Alamo staff for taking care of us. You don't have to get the same type of popcorn each time. The first time I got the churro popcorn, and the second time we got the Parmesan truffle popcorn. I was a little bit, disappointed in the churro popcorn, and there were not very many pieces of churro in it at all The Parmesan truffle popcorn was savory and delicious, and it was a highlight.
