We spent Christmas holidays in Branson and went to see the "Motown" show at Hot Hits Theater. We had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed each and every song! The performance was spot on and people were literally dancing in the aisles. If you are in the area don't miss seeing this show. It was amazing and lasts for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours! read more

The location was difficult to find but now I know it's on commercial street versus looking for it next door to the Hilton. Once inside greeted by friendly, happy staff which is always a plus. The interior is kinda a "ole happy days set" the chairs and table remind you of that time and the color palette. The music is exactly on point and excellent. Was there for Motown Downtown. If you are into Motown music this should be on your must-see list of shows. But don't expect a big theater or big production. In fact, when you first walk in you may think you accidentally walked into a diner restaurant. This is a very intimate experience with good audience participation but the tiny showroom is bare bones minimalistic. You will definitely get your money's worth as these guys will play for at least 2 hours (or 2 and a half in our case.) The talented, hard-working group that will fulfill your Motown music craving. A nice change of pace from the over-the-top bigger shows. read more

Saw Dean Martin show here last year Really good. Trying to find the actual show so I can recommend to others.

We absolutely loved the "Do Wop and the Drifters" show because it took us back to our teenage years and the songs we loved. The lead singer, who was a lead singer for the Drifters back in the 50s and 60s, is just excellent-what a voice! The other two, the tenor and the bass, were also great. The whole show is just a lot of fun. The singers are very personable and invite the audience to join them in certain songs, which we all did and everyone loved. I smiled for two hours straight. If you go, you will be singing and moving and wishing you could get up and dance. I would advise that this show probably appeals to more older people. Everyone in the theater appears to be over 65, I'm quite sure, and we are all having a blast. I'm not sure if it would appeal to younger people. Maybe it would, because the music is superb. read more

Excellent show, These guys are TALENTED! Saw the Motown Downtown and it was the best show Ive seen all week in Branson. Ive been to Vegas a lot as I live an Hour flight away and have seen a lot of shows on the strip. These guys have so much talent they could easily open up a show in vegas and stand up to any other tribute show on the strip. They sing all the hits from almost every Motown artist I could think of. My mom missed the Marvin Gaye show due to a sales persons lie at one of the discount ticket outlets not affiliated with this theater and so she was really disappointed. But at the end of the night the show ran over a little and the performers were having so much fun they took a few requests. Of course my mom shouted "Marvin Gaye!" And the signer who does the Marvin Gaye Show started Singing Grapevine. It made her night. Also refreshments are not wildly expensive like other theaters. See a show here before anywhere else and you wont be disappointed! read more

A Tribute to Dean Martin is at Hot Hits Theater. If you love Dean Martin then you will love Martin Dean! Not only does Martin sound like Dean he looks like Dean. He also has Deans mannerisms and personality down pat. It's like watching The Dean Martin Show on TV. This is a must see very enjoyable show. After the show, Martin comes into the audience and talks and let's you take pictures with him. He has a great personality! read more

Dreadful. A real waste of time. Go to any other show! We went to several that were loads of fun. Located in old town in an old storefront with easy parking. A very run down setting here. Stage flooring was chipped with pieces missing, electric cords exposed, etc. A heater on a long, light extension cord heated our front row seats ok, but the fire hazard was big, waaaay big. I wondered what else was noncode. If you're sensitive/allergic to dust, don't go. The stage was filthy, tho had a fun curtin. I could have actually written my name in the dust on the stage speakers' surfaces as well as around them. Even her white pants had uneven, unfinished hems, with the bell bottom inserts a hard to avoid noticing, different, unintentional level. The rhinestones were missing in spots enough to be visible. Shabby, not chic. Here's how our experience began... The female singer/host immediately greeted us at the door with "we were going to give your seats away" when we arrived before the show started. Upon my protest that the seats were paid for she said "we would have seated you in the back". Ok, so there was road blockage and we were tardy... but to be aggressively greeted like THAT? Another couple arrived later... I wonder what they were told. "Come back again, we loved having you?" Not likely! I lived with a theater worker for 20+ yrs and have seen it all. There's no excuse for being rude, however frustrated one is. Late guests are seated after the first song, don't delay the entire production because others were late!. We waited quite some time for the last guests to arrive. You can bet that the next show was delayed because of this well intentioned but sloppy policy... And that we were badmouthed (just like high school!) as an excuse to the next group. Up close in the front row, we mostly saw her neck and teeth as she sang to the ceiling. It seemed that her trained voice didn't have any style at all beyond being a good, developed instrument. She wasn't able/willing to do more than cover the songs, not giving that delightful, Patsy Cline style intonation. The patter in between the songs reminded me of high school nasty humor. You know, "jokes" (jabs) about age, etc. that fell flat even though the audience was kind. It seemed that everything was heavy handed, with the undertones of frustration. Her smiles and patter were just that, nothing feeling warm or genuine. I think she's stuck in a role that she burned out quite some time ago. She sang to recorded music, swinging her arm behind the curtin to cue in the music. As the show went on, she cared less about how she reached back, revealing a table with a deck and a stack of cds for the usual shill to sell them, which also went on a bit too long. Good at cueing, tho! Then there was the rant against time share organizations.... How the audience should only purchase tickets directly from venues. A captive audience, that's what we were for that one. Don't sell block tickets then if you are so very against this. Of course, most of the tickets sold are due to the publicity machine that the time shares/big businesses have rolling. Why lecture us? Would it make any difference? I don't mind her singing songs by her mother, but really, focusing so much attention on that was unprofessional and boring. Go ahead, talk about how you accomplished what she dreamed of... but don't force us to listen to more than one song by your mother, please? We didn't come for that, thanks. As I said before, I think she's stuck in a role that she burned out quite some time ago. It is hard to feel sorry for someone with such an attitude, shabby setting and mediocre performance. This is a "don't go there for a number of reasons" kinda place. I was a polite guest and spent my time there quietly thinking of other things... but decided to write this review to save others from the waste as it still stings that we went. Buy some of Patsy's music via cd's and you'll be more satisfied. Lots more. read more

We went to see the Motown Downtown - A Tribute show last night. It was a small intimate theatre that enables you to have interaction with the performers. It was an amazing show. The music and comedy was suburb. We would go there again! Loved the shiw! read more

A Tribute to Motown was good! We paid $20 for 4 people. And a two-hour show. They had several acts and all songs were Motown. The vocals were really good and my parents, baby boomers, loved it! You'll have to get past the stage decorations though. Lots of purple: purple seats, purple curtains, purple carpet, and iridescent drapes! Lol! read more

Well... Bless her heart. We were in Branson because my grandfather remembered it when it was a fun place to be, and he had no idea how bad it had gotten. Unfortunately, we ended up here first and he looked so disappointed that he had brought us all this way for nothing. She sang along to recorded music, missed many notes, did not sing nearly as many songs as she claimed she would/did, and less than half of those were Patsy songs. But the brevity ended up being a blessing. My grandfather wanted to leave at intermission - I mean after 7 songs they cut the lights on so she can change clothes from her business casual sac shirt and slacks to her too tight and faded suede jacket that I guess was her stage costume. During this time, my poor son got some popcorn that smelled so bad and was so stale i made him throw it away. I didn't realize until the lights came on how relieved I was not to be feeling like I was in a tiny dark adult theatre watching someone do something shameful. Anyway, I felt so sorry for her, I convinced my grandfather to stay - mostly because the theatre was so small I was sure she could hear how awful he thought it was from backstage even though he was practically whispering. I just can't imagine how someone has the strength to get up night after night and put on such a horrible show in such a dark run down place for so few people. I wanted to give her a hug when it was over, but I guess she could sense my pity and shook my hand instead and said thanks. Well shoot - try harder then. We will be laughing about this for many years to come. read more

Do not waste time or money to see theater or Motown show. On it's last leg and it shows. The best thing about this place, they have remodeled the restrooms. Not worth $30 ticket, not even worth $3. And I love Motown music, but this is not that. read more
