I really liked the food here the first time I tried it but this time I came to pick up a braised beef bowl and everything was insanely salty. I only took 2 bites of their rice and I gave the rest to L since he can handle more salt. Even he said it was incredibly salty. I know other people are used to salty food but this was just too much. Other than the salt, it was good. He loved the red onions, too bad there wasn't enough. Lil pricey at $17ish after tax since there isn't a ton of meat. Although we did love our first visit, we can't come back due to the salt. Although it could've been a one time thing that the food was over salted...maybe I'll check out a different location. Today i went to this location They lady Saw me and didnt took My order i wait until they other guy at they register finished with other client He served what i order but he gave me they left over of meat and when i pay for the soda he throw the coins over My hand with a Bad actitud. I planned to rest and eat the good music that was playing in the restaurant the tables were dirty and this really up set me . I expend more than half an hour and they never clean the tables for other customers and for the good apperance of the restaurant. I hope that the owner or manager pay more attention to this mistakes and train the employes for the benefit of the business and take action. read more

Passed by this place a couple of times and finally decided to walk in for a quick healthy lunch. I got a chicken bowl with some guacamole, broccoli, carrots, beets, etc. The taste itself was pretty good, the portion could use a little work (some more protein would've been nice given the price). Other than that, the place itself is spacious, plenty of dine-in spots and was clean. The employee who helped me named Alexis was amazing and so was their colleague Cat. I had a spicy miso salmon bowl (per their website it had: Miso panca salmon, mixed greens, garlic rice, mint cucumber, raw carrots, Peruvian chili jam, toasted Peruvian corn, avocado blossoms, sweety drop peppers, mango ginger dressing). This new fast-casual restaurant just opened its second NYC location here in Astoria, offering healthy, fresh options with Peruvian flavors. Their menu includes smoothies, seasonal salads, and bowls (from set menu or build your own). I love that the Build-Your-Own bowl comes with unlimited toppings. You choose your base, protein, toppings, sauce, and blossoms and dips. I opted for a base of half spinach and half tri-color Peruvian quinoa, topped with marinated (ceviche-style) tuna, broccoli, cucumber, Peruvian sweety drop peppers, choclo (giant Peruvian corn), sweet potato and avocado blossoms, and Brasa dipping sauce on the side. First off, the bowl was beautifully prepared--colorful and nicely arranged (which I always appreciate--nothing worse than a bowl that looks like it was tossed together haphazardly). The sweet potato and avocado blossoms were not only visually fun and unique but also added great flavor. The choclo was another highlight--chewy, satisfying, and unlike anything you'd find at your average salad bar. Taste-wise, the bowl delivered. Everything was fresh, vibrant, and flavorful. My only gripe is that the portion of tuna was a bit small, especially for this price. Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the sweety drop peppers, but I'm glad I gave them a try. Service was great. The staff was friendly and gave helpful advice--especially their recommendation to eat the bowl right away since the tuna was raw. Had basically no wait time, and given it's a residential area I'd guess this spot doesn't get crazy busy I did a make your own bowl and really enjoyed it! Most of the ingredients were high quality, and overall felt like a nice way to enjoy a healthy meal while eating out The best add ons I had were the sweet potato blossom (basically sweet potato with whipped cream texture) the toasted corn and giant corn, along with the hot pepper and lime sauce The proteins I had were the chicken and chili pepper tofu. Those were the only items in the bowl that didn't come across as high quality. The tofu in particular was quite hard and lacking in flavor. Terrible experience. I ordered the roasted chicken bowl and the chicken was hard, definitely not fresh. Also either overcooked or old. The sauces had a weird taste like stale. The only thing somewhat decent was the beef I ordered on the side. I will not order from here ever again. I think it's a great addition to Astoria, they have bowls, salads, smoothies ... you can build your own bowl or salad custom to how you like. This a new place that just opened up. It is very clean and organized. The napkins ran out and the worker immediately filled it up. They have to go bags available already on the side to grab. They even have a restroom even though there were only maybe 8-10 seats. It was really clean as well. The amount of food you receive is a lot, my total came out to $20 for my food and a drink. Rahiem my server was extremely kind, respectful, polite, and patient. I wanted to give him a tip, but I was told they can't accept tips, which is confusing to me since so many cafes and other places ask for tips where I don't n think it's necessary.
