Service is generally great, views are fantastic, and the "vibe" is amazing. I'm just generally "meh" on the cocktails and the food. (More-so the food than the cocktails) Brass Eye is priced like a skyline cocktail bar, in both food and cocktails, and the portions and quality of the flavors don't quite match up with the high price. This is a place I enjoy coming for the vibes, but I generally eat somewhere else and try to keep the drink orders to a minimum. I've been here a good 10 times now, and none of the drinks or food are really worth telling anyone about. I keep going back assuming I'm just being picky, but man. Parking is a bit of a pain, but there's a gigantic parking garage the next block over, and you can find (paid, but cheap) street parking if you're willing to walk 4-6 blocks. My dining experiences here have been inconsistent. I've had great food and drinks twice. I would recommend the brussels sprouts. The staff were attentive and timely. There is an excellent view of the city skyline. Another time my food was undercooked and we were waiting for our bill for 30 minutes. I went to their holiday pop-up and it felt like a scam. They didn't have hot food available unless it was in a microwave. They didn't have any flexibility on drinks, so my partner who doesn't drink couldn't have anything. Located on the top floor of the Junto hotel this is a great place to stop in for a drink or a meal. During the warmer months this place would be amazing as they have a nice sized porch. The drinks are well made, highly recommended the espresso martini and the old fashioned. They have some nightly specials and we happened to visit on a Wednesday which is girl dinner night. A drink and multiple courses for $25. Part of our group ordered that and loved it, we also tried the seasonal salad and the Fig appetizer which were delicious and very filling. Love the vibes at this place. It's a beautiful rooftop space with views of CBus. We wanted to sit outside but it was super windy so we sat at the bar. Our server was super helpful. Dropped in a few weeks back for restaurant week and was relatively underwhelmed. Food was very average and would have been over-priced had it not been for restaurant week. Certainly good but nothing special. The crispy Brussels were good not great. Same for dessert. Food also took about 45 minutes to come out. Our server Owen was friendly but inattentive. He only stopped by a few times, and we had to get water refills from the bar more than once. We did go to the bar for drinks after and that was awesome. Drinks were delicious and the bartender was super helpful. Views are killer too of downtown, there's both a larger uncovered and a covered patio. Overall want to come back here but only for drinks. Went to this place a few years ago and had absolutely atrocious service- waited over 45 minutes for just (pricey!) drinks. Would have excused this if they were busy, but it was nearly empty, and we watched our waitress just standing around and chatting with other servers for most of the time that we waited. Finally tried to go back to give it another try last night, and our reservation was cancelled 3 hours prior to our arrival with a message that they "didn't have enough tables to accommodate us" (party of 4 people), but then when we looked on Open Table, they had reservations available every 15 minutes for the entire evening. Food and drinks were great. Service was excellent. We made reservations and attended the "Red, White & Boom Viewing Party" which was advertised as the best seat to view the fireworks. We could not have been more disappointed in the money we spent to attend this event. First of all we were told that the doors wouldn't open until 7pm. We arrived a few minutes before 7pm and the place was already full! Second it was not a great viewing place for the fireworks maybe half of those who attended could even see them. Third the music was blaring so loud you could hardly get your order to the server. Cutting down the amount of people (like half the people) and turning down the music so you could actually have a conversation would have made the experience much better. The highlight of this was definitely the ambiance and view. The people were friendly and accommodating. I chose to try this after coming to the junto for a conference. The food was tasty at that event. So, I wanted to give Brass Eye a shot. We ordered a few things. I got the burger. It was a 2 star smash burger. Not a lot of flavor at all and pretty small. I tried some of my cousins steak and wings. For the price of these items the portions and flavor were quite disappointing. The steak was tiny and not the best quality. The wings sauce was good but the texture was kind of rubbery like the chicken was frozen or something. The free birthday dessert was greatly appreciated. However they should seriously consider pairing that delicious gooey butter ice cream with very warm and gooey butter cake. The current cake option is like overpowering with some kind of flavor. Ultimately, I would go back for the vibe but wouldn't really return for the food. Left hungry, unsatisfied, and slightly disappointed. Had dinner downstairs at Little West Tavern. Felt guilty about staying at our table for so long so we decided to go upstairs to the Brass Eye, their roof top bar. Before you head up be sure to ask the hotel desk which elevator to use. They all go to the 8th floor but only one will access it without a card. We chose poorly. Luckily the cute couple going to the sixth floor scanned their card for us, so our journey continued without a glitch. Finally, upstairs you turn left and at the end of the hall is a door. Go thru it and you will suddenly be in a dimly lit, somewhat moder retro styled bar that also has outside balconies that have a very nice view of the Columbus skyline. The balcony seating has plenty of space heaters so even on a chilly night it's comfortable. The bar is fully stocked. They have signature drinks, a seasonally jello shot (October is pumpkin spice) They have small plates for nibbling. The staff is excellent. Its a fun spot. Will return gladly. read more

Prices are higher than typical, but you're paying for the rooftop ambiance. This past time I went, service was awful. The waitress didn't even check in on us and we sat around for 30 minutes before she even took our orders. We'd even make eye contact and she would walk past our table. We waited a while post dinner to even get our checks. I have been wanting to come here for a while now and haven't had the chance, but me and a group of my friends booked a reservation a month out for our table 6. When they first sat us down they sat us in a living room style seating, which was a great spot but since we were ordering food we asked to move since it would be hard to eat in that setup. I would HIGHLY reco to ensure when you place a resy and you are planning to eat let them you want table. We started with the biscuit tower and that was AMAZING! I would come again for that. The housemade whipped cream and the jam they had won me over! When we ordered our entrees it took longer than expected. They were out of few things when I was there too, out of cold brew and rosé. I ordered the Cinnamon Bourbon French Toast and Thick-Cut Bacon, underwhelming and overlooked/pretty burnt (as you can see in my pic). The service was pretty good and since its really spacious it was really quiet, that was really nice. I don't think I would come here again though - there are so many great places in Columbus. read more

That was the worst service ive had in a long time and im also in the restaurant industry. we were celebrating a friends bday (~15 top) and the server was very lackluster. she was not welcoming & never provided her name often walking away when we were ready to place our orders. our drinks took a long time to arrive, one by one (if that) and my partner didnt receive his until everyone else had finished theirs. when we went to remind her about it she was quite short and not apologetic. the food left alot to be desired as well: unseasoned, large portions, and a friend found blonde hair in her food. Went to this very cool spot last night. The atmosphere of the Brass Eye and the hotel is great and it's beautiful. Our part of 5 were seated outside with an amazing view of downtown. We ordered cocktails (which were delicious) apps (wings - no so great and bruschetta- good) and entrees. 3 of us got the steak tacos (beef was tough and probably overcooked), chicken and Brussels. The food was just ok. Mentioned the tacos to the manager and got 2 desserts on the house. I would have prefers the tacos be taken off the bill but that wasn't offered up. They did offer to replace them or order something else, but by that time we didn't want to reorder. With so many options downtown, I'd eat somewhat else and come for drinks only. First time I went to brass eye last summer I loved it. Went again this summer and was disappointed. They no longer have the biscuit tower (although it's still listed on the website). The beignets had minimal flavor. The breakfast plate was standard but definitely not worth the price. Also service was slow and it took forever to get jelly for the toast. The Brass Eye is the perfect spot for a date night. The hotel where it's located, The Junto, is stunning itself and this rooftop bar is not one to miss. I had a really well made dirty gin martini there. Their burger is really good too. It's a big pricey, however I think you're getting your moneys worth given the view and all of the space the place has. Brass Eye has a nice view of the west side of cbus from the rooftop and all of the apartments right next door. Seriously, from the rooftop you're literally looking into everyone's living rooms of the adjacent buildings. So, if you enjoy people watching this place is for you. But, the main reason I am giving three stars is because of the weak, overpriced drinks. I understand they can charge more because of the ambiance, but do the drinks all have to be half pours? Sunday Funday done right! We were looking for cool spots and came across the Brass Eye! Omg. I'm so happy we found it! There is a door but it was locked. We walked all over and finally figured out that it's located inside a hotel. This hotel by the way looked spectacular! This was an upscale spot with beautiful views of the city. They have some weird hours and gets really busy. If you want a rooftop spot, you'll want to make reservations. We had just eaten brunch so we were just here for some drinks. There was no coffee in our air BNB so we knew right away that we were getting espresso martinis. May as well get a flight right? Haha. We enjoyed our cocktails. We had great service. We found this on Instagram and decided to try it. It was difficult to find. There is art work on windows to an empty building, and then there was a sign above a door to doors that were locked. We walked around the building and asked a valet where to go. He was very nice but the directions were a little confusing. We ending up going up the wrong elevator and went through a back door. We finally found the restaurant and got a beautiful seat right beside the window overlooking COSI. The drink menu has some tasty drinks. I tried one of the mocktails. It was very good but on the expensive side at $14. I tried the eggplant dish, it was tasty. We also got the ribs and it was a small plate of ribs. We ended up getting fries too just to get some food. They are very small plates at steep prices. Overall the views are beautiful but not really a place I would go for a meal. It is definitely a bar cocktail type establishment. read more

First off, I'm giving 4 stars because I did not have food and I don't feel it's fair to give 5 without at least tasting a few items. But, the food I did see coming out looked very good. We went on a rainy Saturday night around 7:30 with no reservation (we were only going for drinks). The hostess was very kind and showed us to the "outside" bar and created space for our party of 11 to order drinks and put down our things. Very classy. Even with the rain, the place is very cool looking. The outside is beautiful and inviting. I can only imagine how cool it is when the weather is right. The seating inside and out is unique. They offer a range of options from bar stools to benches to standard chairs to overstuffed chairs. I look forward to coming back when the weather is better and we have time for dinner! read more

Service was great. I had 2 sex on the beach and the Brass burger and fries. My bill was $68.02 and when I got in the car and checked my receipt. I was rang up for two martinis which was $28 and 2 Tito shots for $8 and the food. Only thing right was the food. Never going back! read more
