Amazing brewery with so many great beers and friendly staff. Came here after a Crea game and loved the beer flights I tried. The ambiance is cool and retro. The menu looks like the periodic table of elements and the beer all comes with collectible cards.

Very cool Outdoor space all year! They have installed igloos in the winter and winter bumper cars, in the summers they host all kinds of events from fashion shows, to vintage markets, trivia, shows and much more. Ray Rays BBQ truck and 2 others are always on premise. Ly hunk it's a Hawaiian good truck and maybe pizza but they're always closed qhen I go. Ray rays wod thebest. Lots of easy parking around the place, o worries there. When you enter the brewery is on the right and the beer garden is on the left. The bar is open outdoors on busier days. Lots of picnic tables and places tosit. They have a games area with corn hole, basketball and party style seating. Walk through to the other side and there is a cool cocktail linage bar. With different specialty drinks. Dora does work here because you have to cross a street. The other side has basketball courts that convert to pickleball. Seating over here too and a stage. Juat a cool place to meet with friends, reserve cabanas for parties and r ing all your friends here. FUN spot.

Located in a rapidly re-developing area in Columbus on the west side of the side of the river, Land Grant is a hip, cool craft brewery that promises, fun times for everyone who visits. It has a vibe that is conducive to conversation, and activities that are sure to keep visitors occupied and engaged. The area where it is located is reminiscent of the early days of the Short North area of Columbus before it was fully developed. I visited, for the first time with friends and was not disappointed. There are some food trucks nearby, offering a variety of items, and I would imagine most people would be able to find something that they like. There was not live entertainment present when we visited, but it appeared that The venue was laid out for such possibilities. this might be an OK place for a very casual first date depending upon the likes and personality of the person you are with. If you enjoy craft brewing, this should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Columbus. plenty of street parking is available and there are a few lots nearby. As a tip, many of the street parking areas use a system called Parkmobile, by which parking fees can be paid remotely using a smart app on a mobile phone that is so equipped.

This brewery was so fun! We sat outside by a fire pit with our friends and enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather and sipped on some tasty drinks. They have a very eclectic playlist (loved it) and then later in the day turned on the football game. Their bar staff are really nice and let you try beers before committing to a full pour. Their bathrooms were pristine and they stock free feminine products which is really thoughtful. The inside was decorated so cute for Christmas and they have heated igloos you can rent to hangout in as well. They have a couple food trucks to get snacks from- the BBQ food truck was open today when we went. It smelled delicious, but we had just gotten coffee and pastries before stopping in here, so we stuck to beers. I tired the cerveza de la casa negra, beard crumbs, and the bonspiel and my husband tried several IPAs. We loved all of our beers! Our friends tried some of their beer/wine combos, pilsners, lagers, IPAs, and cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and we had such a fun time around the fire pit. Definitely recommend stopping in with a group for a lazy Sunday.

This is my favorite brewery in Columbus, and I visit a lot of breweries. From the welcoming staff, great beer, and incredible outdoor space, Land Grant does it right. There's a large selection of beers to choose from--my favorite was the West Coast IPA--and a couple of different food trucks on site. Ray Ray's, the best BBQ in Columbus, has a food truck on site, and BBQ pairs great with beer and the outdoors. You can choose to sit in their spacious indoor taproom, or you can venture outside where they have dozens of shaded picnic tables, a large-screen TV for outdoor movies/sports, and several cabanas, as well as some outdoor activities such as cornhole. Land Grant also expanded and now offers a mini sports center with pickleball and more. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a beer or two, great food trucks, and a great outdoor space, add Land Grant to your itinerary.

Bumper cars on ice thing - so fun!

You cannot go wrong with Land Grant. It's always a good time there and it honestly accommodates everyone whether you like beer or cocktails. Their winter party thing with the igloos, curling, and bumper cars is a blast and I would highly recommend doing it as a winter activity to get in the holiday spirit. OSU game days there are always fun too. Their expansion they've done toward the Gravity building is so good. Last summer they did a mini golfing tournament with merch for sale that was so cute. All around I have nothing bad to say about Land Grant. It's awesome!

Last year we visited winter garden to check out the bumper cars (super cool) and this year we tried the mini keg curling. It was more like shuffleboard on ice but it was really fun. They also had great new beers to try especially some of their experimental options and food trucks are available as well. Always enjoy our time here, especially when we pair it with one of their acitivites.

Fun cool tap room and food trucks and curling! Had a flight of beers, bar tenders very helpful in selections and served them up quick. Did not have any food but the Late Nite Slice truck reminds me of Cincinnati! Next time we'll make reservations for keg curling. They book up!

Celebrated my son's 40th birthday and their private room and it was wonderful! Really enjoyed the food trucks outside, the bar service was top-notch! Had a little trouble finding a parking place and then had to login to pay for the parking, but you gotta expect that in downtown Columbus.

Land Grant is a good time... consistently... inside and out... all four seasons. What really sets them apart is how they leverage their outdoor spaces with igloos, curling and bumper cars through the winter and benches, stages, and projection screens spring through fall. Partnering with Ray Ray's and Mikey's Late Night Slice for food is brilliant. Oh yeah, the beer! Get the Open Always homage to Buckeye Donuts. Don't let the color and ABV scare you. This is one smooth ale. Technically, it's a chocolate peanut butter brown ale, but it's good! Those ingredients are present without overwhelming the beer. I also had a Barleywine collaboration with Gemut Biergarten which held its own, but it didn't eclipse the Open Always. I appreciate the bartender honoring a discount that 'may' have expired. Their willingness to go the extra mile to take care of their guests is yet another reason to take a trip to Franklinton.

I hosted my team's holiday gathering at Land Grant, and it was the perfect spot! Parking: can be tough - there is a garage not far away, but otherwise there is parallel parking throughout Franklinton. Food: food trucks. There was Mikey's Late Night Slice (pizza) and Ray Ray's (bbq). Pizza was sold out & half of Ray Ray's was also sold out on Thursday early evening, so selection was brim. But, I appreciate that there are food options. Drinks: local beer, cocktails, wine, high noon, etc. Activities: recently, LG added in a winter curling and/or ice bumper car experience. You reserve an igloo & get a curling lane for 90 mins, and it holds up to 8 people. We did this, and we had a blast!! Highly recommend - we want to go back.

We had so much fun at Land Grant's Gravity Experience Park Wintergarten last year that we decided to rent the heated igloo and curling lane for Gabe's 9th birthday yesterday. His top birthday wish was for snow -- and Mother Nature came through for him. Family and a couple of friends joined us for a few hours of curling (which comes with the igloo) and ice bumper cars scheduled separately. We reserved a few sessions of ice bumper cars, which were super fun, with the falling snow and groovy music! The pictures could've been better, but my glasses were fogged up, and I couldn't see a thing. The service to the igloo was fantastic, and everyone was happy with their drinks of choice, which included beer, hot toddies, hot chocolate, and my French 75. The overall experience/ atmosphere is 5-star, but I dropped a star mostly because of the food (or lack of) situation, in general. Just plan to eat before or after and enjoy the Wintergarten. We brought a few snacks for the kids it that was all good.

Ask the Community - Land Grant Brewing Company

Does LG have its own parking lot or do we use street parking?

They don't have a lot so just street parking. Usually not too hard to find outside of busy weekend evenings. There's a garage a block away too.

I was a bit worried as it looks more like a night club from the outside, but the food was fantastic! We ordered the popcorn chicken, the Shanghai noon burger, mama Chien's dumplings, drunken noodles, a cobra old fashion and a local beer (paper cloud?). The chicken had some unique seasoning and the drunken noodles were phenomenal; the noodles were giant and cooked perfectly and the dish has some unique touches like pea pods that you don't usually find. You order at the bar, but even with that the service was great! A server brought out an herb for us to try that is in many of their dishes. They checked in on us several times and even refilled water, which you get yourself at the back. The customer base was very diverse. I'm guessing the place may turn more club-like later at night, but for dinner it's a perfect family restaurant.

All the food was amazing. I ordered a Kopiko Espresso Martini that I will go back 10x over to have again and again. I would say the only thing I'm not a huge fan of is going up to the bar to order every time you need something. I think they could really thrive using a QR system and/or digital tabs to make that process simpler. Also so you don't have to keep leaving the table. Either way, definitely worth it to check out!

It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.
