If you want texmex, there are dozens of places with decent food. But if you want to get as close to authentic Mexican street tacos as possible, Brassas is the best. Their carne asada tacos are awesome, as are their chicken tacos. And if you're more adventurous, try the lengua. read more

Used to love this place, not anymore. Last time I went I was craving shrimp and fish tacos. Arrived at the place and it was empty, no customers. Asked for fish tacos and was told they didn't have any fish, asked for shrimp tacos and was told again they didn't have any shrimp. Ordered some steak and al pastor tacos, wanted flour tortillas and was informed that it would cost more because the tortillas were bigger, I was fine with that. Turns out the tortillas were exactly the same size and the tacos were not that good for the price. They have really gone downhill. read more

My favorite place to eat when I'm down in Provo. Since moving to the Salt Lake area, from Southern California, I've been on a mission to find the BEST tacos and Mexican food in Utah. This is it! I'm not just saying that, I usually dont go out of my way to write a review to a restaurant but Brassas deserves a bow, a courtsey, a tip of the hat, a salute and a round of applause all at once. We were craving tacos, and my husband and I are 'Food Snobs', I lived in Texas and my husband served his mission for our church spanish speaking. So we know what we're talking about when it comes to Mexican food. We usually dont care for reviews, mainly because most people dont REALLY know what good food is. I got the Brassa tacos it comes with 4 tortillas corn or flour, chopped carne asada, onions, peppers, BACON and then then wrap all of that goodness onto a blanket of cheese and crisp it all together. Straight up the best foodgasm ever. So much flavor packed into their food; The steak is super smoky and tender, sweetness from the peppers and onions and the nuttiness from the crisp cheese makes it a good balance. I will also tell you, they do not skimp on their food, they serve it in a styrofoam box a la carte, you build your tacos yourself and its so much food! You Definitely could share with someone and still be satisfied. Taco Happy hour 4-5pm. The tacos are very tasty. My favorite are the carnitas. What makes this place above others is the salsa table. The hidden gem, or overlooked gem, is the crock-pot of hot veggies (onions & peppers) that just ooze with flavor. 3 tacos and a jaritos usually hits the spot, though I love getting the nachos if I am really hungry... the carnitas with the melted cheese.... hmmmm... even better than costa vida / cafe rio (much less sweet and more authentic, though I both of their versions too too). read more

This was super good. I had the el pastor burrito and it was the bomb. It's slightly sweet and smokey. I highly recommend it.

I totally recommend this place. I happened upon it during a visit to Provo. In my experience, the funny little taco shacks set up in parking lots are either fabulous or super gross: this one was fabulous. I have to say that the tacos I got here were among the best I have ever had, and I've been around. The steak taco was particularly delicious. I usually don't order the steak because it's too chewy and dry, but the guy at the counter encouraged me to give it a try and I was glad he did. It was flavorful and totally tender -- completely yummy. I also had the carnitas taco. Both had delicious, slightly thick soft corn tortillas. So good. Brassas has the best Mexican food in Utah Valley hands down. I've been to pretty much every other Mexican restaurant (I know... I have a problem...) and nothing compares. I think what makes it so tasty is that they marinate the meat and chargrill it. I'm a huge fan of the carne asada nachos, they are loaded to the brim with all the good stuff. I almost gave this place 5 stars. The tacos are great, especially the shrimp tacos. My son loves the Burritos. I really like the roasted peppers that are available with your meal. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was the fact that our most recent meal that we ate there was the whole roasted chicken and it was really under cooked. My husband and I tried this place for the first time today and all I have to say is WOW. This place has the most fresh, authentic, delicious Mexican food that I've had in Utah. I got a chicken burrito and my husband got a steak and shrimp burrito and both were amazing. The ingredients were so fresh and flavorful and our food was made right in front of us. Without question some of the best Mexican food I've had in my life. If you go between 4 and 5 then the steak tacos are 1/2 off.

It's good and they get you your food really fast...but its not the greatest mexican food around. I personally feel the meat lacks flavor and it's bit overpriced for it is mexican food (the cheapest food around) It's a fun time eating outside in the middle of a parking lot while listening to blearing music but really, I just think it's okay...not great. but it is definitely worth a try! read more

I LOVE THEIR TACOS! These are some of the best, authentic street tacos I have ever had-especially the al pastor! And they come out quickly. Happy hour is a good deal too. We love this place! My new favorite taco shop. I've been here three times and tried a lot of the menu. Favorites are the fish tacos and shrimp tacos. The horchata is good too. This is a solid taco stand with bomb fish tacos and shrimp tacos. Carne asada burritos are awesome, too. It's outside so not so great in cold weather, but it is covered. I like the salsa bar with grilled whole jalepenos. One downside is that they don't give you water; you'll have to buy a bottle or a soda if you want a drink.
