I tried Brassica for the very first time today and I was very impressed by the quality of the food. I got the salad bowl and my co-worker got the sandwich. We wrote down our orders, which you can find on their online menu area if your ordering for a big crowd. It is very handy dandy. Parking is simple you can park anywhere there in the Bexley plaza because it's all free and open parking areas. The wait was long as expected, when I got to the counter the staff were very nice and hospitable. They made their recommendations which I appreciated. Most of which made my bowl taste even better thanks to them. I got the falafel bowl which has about 3 or 4 falafels. They are the real deal, taste very authentic to what I remember growing up and making them in my original homeland of Israel. Next you pick your toppings I got the eggplant, cauliflower, crispy onions, cukes and onions. You have a choice with the sauces, they have the their house sauce or you have a choice between the red pepper, tahini or hot sauce. Finally you check out and you can add extras like pita for $2.50 or the seasoned fried which are oh so yummy and worth trying. A ton of great healthy options and this Bexley location is so charming with ample parking available. Tried the salad bowl with different samples. The hummus is bland and liquidy. The baba ganoush was very smoky - I think that they add liquid smoke to their recipe. I actually liked it even though it was was artificially smoky. The falafel was very salty. I did like the pickled vegetables especially the red cabbage. The chicken was okay. So I would suggest skipping the hummus and the falafel. The chicken may work better in a sandwich. read more

Went for lunch today with a friend. We each ordered a " salad ". The rice with lentils is the base and then they topped it with mostly kale and little shredded lettuce. Food of this quality could have been served in a white-tablecloth restaurant for four times the price. When you come in, hook an immediate left to the cattle lane. Grab a special bottled or canned libation or something at the end from the Tea, lemonade, or Boylans sodas. The menu is above your head. Pita or salad. Choose protein or veggie. The pitas are made almost to order. They are still warm from the oven. As you move down the cafeteria style line, choosing your delicious fillings. Now order your fries and pay. Seat yourself in any of the art deco table spaces. A patio when it's warmer out. Fetch that drink and maybe a condiment. By then, a smiling face is bringing you those hot scrumptious fries. Need anything? Just ask. They rush to make it right. I've had the salad and the pita. The brisket, Bacon, and chicken. They have all been stellar. I expect everything else to be the same. Don't like what you picked? They will be happy to re-make it for you. Trendy new spot in Bexley for some Mediterranean inspired food. I had the brisket bowl and loaded it up with hummus, all of the veggies- red cabbage, cucumbers, spicy carrots, cauliflower, salad, eggplant, feta and special sauce. It was really filling but healthy and satisfying. My only complaint were the bowls it was served in. The base of the bowl was too small so my bowl actually toppled over and spilled on me because of this. Not the best situation so hopefully they change what this is served in to something a little bigger or a different shape. read more

Let me start off this review by saying that Brassica is my favorite place to eat in Columbus right now. I go to the Brassica on High Street quite often. I actually hold the Duke title on yelp for the Location on High (Pats myself on the back). And I've been waiting an awfully long D**M time for this one to open! Biggest question i had to myself before coming: Would I get the same quality with the food as I do with the High Street location. Answer is: Yes. The food is still incredibly good. The thing i love most about this place is how all the flavors differ, but all come together in such harmony. I don't want to seem sappy, but I love this place lol. I would never think of getting things like Eggplant and Cauliflower. But it all pairs so well together, and everything is very good. Make sure you are not afraid to go and try things you THINK you won't like here. Because I promise you it will work and you will like it. Also everything is fresh and you can tell everything is quality food. My go to meal is: Sandwich with Hummus, Crispy onions, half Brisket/Glazed Bacon, Pickled Cabbage, Extra Special Sauce, Eggplant, Cauliflower, Carrot. Then I always have to add on the Brassica Fries (Which are seasoned perfectly) w/special sauce, and a Mint Pink lemonade. You have to try that lemonade by the way. It's so refreshing. But let me let you in on a TIP that nobody is doing, that everyone should be..... Put some fries into your sandwich, it's so good. I've yet to see anyone else do this. But my goal is to have everyone doing this by years end lol. First impression when i walk in, is that this location is a lot more open and brighter. It is still very aesthetically pleasing. There is more room to move about the seating area, and the windows all around allow more natural light to enter the building. Everything looks high nice and gives you that feel that this inst just some rush job to get another location up, They wanted to give it that same high quality experience, that you get with eating their food. The customer service was really good. Like the location on high, the employees were friendly engaging. This must be something they look for while interviewing because I can see it's a standard that they set for when they hire people. I've never had a bad customer experience ever at the high location, and from the looks of it I won't have one here either. So im giving this 5 stars. Another great restraint by brassica. I'd recommend this location to anyone. This location is more kid friendly because of where it is at and how open the place is. Bexley was the perfect part of the city for them to expand into. Fresh in-house prepared food. There are two locations, one in Short North (North High) and one in Bexley ( E Main St). I ate at the one in Bexley. The atmosphere is casual, friendly, open, and natural light. There is plenty of seating inside and some tables for outside seating. The food is flavorful. If you like lamb, I suggest the lamb bacon. It is made in house. Food is ordered by going through a line and you tell them what you would like on a salad or in a pita(made in house). Pay at the end of the line. Service is quick and friendly. I will be going back. The Bexley location is across from Capital University, on the corner of the building. The Bexley City Hall sign is on the top of building facing Main St. There will be another restaurant opening in Upper Arlington, OH. read more

Okay, I may have a new favorite place to eat. Finally made it to Brassica, and am currently taking a breather from chowing down on this incredible food. It's a sort of upscale take on the fast casual concept, but the ingredients leave Chipotle or Bibibop in the dust. (The ticket shows that, too, but I wouldn't be making this a frequent stop. You know that thing about if you have to ask the price you can't afford it? Yeah, prices aren't posted on their website.) My meal: Base is rice and lentils, then greens (am I eating kale? Yes, I think I am.) Then your protein (lamb bacon with an Aleppo pepper glaze; other choices include chicken, brisket, others), crispy onions, choice of baba ghanoush or hummus, then all the veg: I just said YES PLZ and got beets, cucumbers and radishes, marinated eggplant, cauliflower, pickled onions, carrots... I think that's the lot. Zhug on the side, but honestly, it doesn't need the sauce. Most of the veg are marinated or pickled somehow, so if that's not your thing, choices may be limited. My drink was minty pink lemonade, which is divine, and I never would have thought to put those flavors together. Other nice points: I got takeout, but while I was in there I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty quiet, not all chaotic with music and loud voices. The layout works well, and I was in and out quickly. You can get a sandwich instead of the bowl/salad I chose, and there are good vegetarian options as far as I could tell. read more

Brassica has never disappointed me! When it first opened, I couldn't be more pleased with this grab and go style of amazing food. My personal favorites are the glazed bacon and the falafel as protein options. I like to get half and half and it's the best of both worlds! As far as the veggies/toppings-- I'm all for the baba instead of hummus, and then allll of the other toppings are essential. I especially love the pickles, pickled red onions, and the eggplant... and don't sleep on the house hot sauce. Special shoutout to this location because it has a fabulous patio and the staff is always super friendly. In fact, a couple of years ago after I mentioned being excited about just landing an important contract for work, I went to check out and there was a note attached to the top of my bowl that said "congrats!" and they gave me my order on the house. You honestly can't beat that type of service. Brassica is probably my favorite casual place to eat, especially for lunch. The bowls also keep extremely well in the fridge for later. Who would be surprised, though, considering that this awesome local chain was created by the same people behind North Star Cafe, and you can expect the same awesome quality and flavors at Brassica. I'm ridiculously hooked on this new Brassica. I go at least once a week and can't tear myself away from the lentil salads. What I love is that I eat more veggies here than I'd eat elsewhere because of how fresh they are and how they're prepared. The spicy carrots are great (but not really spicy), the cucumbers and radishes I could eat by the gallon (and I don't even really enjoy cucumbers most days and the pickled radish is so flavorful. The chicken is my favorite of all the proteins even though the brisket and bacon are pretty good. The staff is always happy -how, I don't know. I mean they are always just so nice and smiling. The price/tipping on fast casual still irks me but I get that I'm paying $11.50 for a super fresh salad that I couldn't make for nearly the same price at home of the same quality. I am a big fan of this place. Take the chipotle concept, but make it mediterranean style food. The service is so friendly and the food is great! I also appreciate how quickly you can get through the line and to your food, so don't be scared off by a long line during prime lunch or dinner hours. I am told the ingredients are all fresh daily and many are local. It tastes fresh! It's just so different than what I am able to get anywhere else for the price and it feels healthy. If you want to splurge, throw in some french fries! They even serve beer and beer in addition to soft drinks.
