Had a chance to get over this way, and a discount for installing their app, so I stopped by for lunch. Friendly service. I like the Korean beef so I got that. But I changed things up by getting the sweet potato noodles. They don't taste like sweet potato at all, they are just translucent noodles that are a good base. I added sprouts, kimchi, corn, and cabbage. The kimchi is not hot. Just kind of average. Adds some nice crunch. The veggies are always fresh. The beef was tender and flavorful. Presentation wasn't as nice here, the bowl just wasn't put together quite as prettily, but it was fine. I also had some of the free miso soup, which had more solids in it than broth, maybe because it was down to the bottom of the vat. Tasty enough, nothing special. This location is always clean and efficient. There's a good bit of seating inside and outside for nice weather days. Bibibop has great flavors - fresh, Asian inspired, and flavorful. It's a "build your own bowl/salad" concept such as Chipotle or Piada. I've never been disappointed at this location which is pretty close to work so I almost always run into a coworker over lunch. I've ordered ahead on the app, dined in, and taken it to go. My usual is a purple rice bowl with sprouts, potatoes, spicy chicken, cheese, carrots, corn, and then teriyaki and yum yum sauces. The yum yum sauce is really good, you can actually find bottles of it in grocery stores and at Costco. My only complaint is that they removed cucumber from their toppings recently. I will also add broccoli or kale occasionally to change it up. The entire restaurant/all menu items are gluten free. They offer tofu or veggie only bowls for vegetarians. It does not have a strong cilantro taste and it's creamy based. Even after mixing the shrimp with other toppings and sauce, the shrimp still has a faint flavoring to it. It would have been better if more shrimp is given as there's barely any protein left after eating a few bite. Clean, brightly lit interior space. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. There's definitely a lot to like about BIBIBOP. I've been here twice so far. The first time I had the steak bowl with Korean Red sauce, which was pretty spicy but not painfully so. The second time, I had the steak bowl with Yum Yum Sauce... which unfortunately was not nearly as "yum yum" as the sauce of the same name served at local Japanese steakhouses. Pick up process is an absolute joke these days. The last three times I've placed an order online have been like 20 minutes ahead of time for ASAP pick up and I'll wait 20 minutes. This concept by local company Gosh Enterprises, owners of the Charley's Cheesesteak chain, is a welcome addition to the fast casual market. I enjoyed the combination I selected even though it was roll-of-the-dice on my part, having never been here before. Yet the spicy chicken, white rice, carrots, egg strips, and cheese topping were great. Fresh and kept recently cooked, you really couldn't ask for more in these types of places; they are not authentic of course; they have to insure any combo you pick will result in a decent meal. Authenticity implies lack of customer control and formulaic precision. The staff is really helpful and seem excited and energetic to help. They have samples of all the sauces next to the soda fountain for you to try. They left nothing to chance in helping the customer decide the right combo. They have a spinner of local magazine ala Northstar for reading. I thought that was a nice touch. They have made the most of the interior inherited from the Mexican joint that was once here. The drywall covered booths with adobe-like arches still exist but do not clash with the oriental-fusion offerings. The rest of the place is well lite by natural light through the windows and soft interior bulbs. This was my first time at Bibibop, I thought I would like it because my last try of Korean food was at my neighbor's graduation party and I liked it then but now I know the huge difference why my stomach digested that meal better than this one. That meal was all homemade at the graduation party while this one was more starchy as Shea put it. I literally thought the guy in front of me was a yelper because he was helping me order everything and he didn't even work there. I didn't mind it since I wanted to try something new and I sort of needed the help. I think the purple rice was good but everything else like the protein I picked which was chicken didn't settle in my body well. Then I added bean sprouts, potatoes, eggs, cucumbers and teriyaki sauce to my bowl, it still didn't help. I guess I just have to sleep it off tonight, I had a rough night anyways so nothing has been settling well all day. Just as I put in my last place that I reviewed, I think it's always good to experience something new that you haven't had before. Whenever I'm back home in Columbus, I almost always eat some Bibibop. It's convenient and fast, but still a step up from actual fast food; it's essentially a Chipotle that serves casual, Korean-inspired fare. You can have your meal made over rice, salad, noodles, or in a wrap; personally I only ever get it in a bowl (half rice + half noodles). The many carb/meat/veggie toppings are all very tasty, and you can pick from a selection of sauces for even more flavor. I believe the ingredients are touted to be fresh, organic, responsibly sourced, etc but I've never actually explored those claims. Nor have I looked into any nutrition facts, but I certainly don't feel unhealthy after eating here. Indoor and outdoor seating available; the bathrooms are clean and modern just like the rest of the place. The parking lot isn't huge, and it can be annoying to enter/exit from Henderson. It's relatively affordable and keeps you full for a substantial amount of time. The ingredients look good but there is absolutely no nutritional information on the Bibiop website, which I usually take as a bad sign. If you're working hard to sell me wellness but will not tell me what's in your food, I am inclined to believe that something's not quite right. So yea, there you have it.
