614Gyro is a small hole-in-the-wall on Indianola, across from the Huntington Bank near the Indianola/North Broadway intersection. And by "small", we mean SMALL. We went there on a Sunday & were a bit concerned when we went in & saw no one in the place. But, bravely, we sat down anyway. Basic hole-in-the-wall Clintonville restaurant with minimal clean decor, nothing fancy. First, food is fresh & tasty, just perfect when you're craving gyros. We both had gyros: YUM. So yeah, on that point alone, it's definitely worth a visit. My one gripe with this place is that the owner (and he ID'd himself as the owner) seemed to think we were there to chat with him. All we wanted was to eat & chat with each other, not listen to all the details of the ower's life & business. Mr. Owner, please understand: it's NOT your job to entertain customers. Take the orders, bring the food out, and unobtrusively check in every once & a while to see if we need anything -- that's all you need to do. Having to eat our meals while this guy was standing there watching & talking to us & evidently overseeing everything we did was very uncomfortable and slightly creepy. It didn't help that my husband is a friendly, laid-back guy who asked a couple friendly questions when the owner continued to stand at his counter and watch us, but....still. Yes, it was slow. Yes, we were the only customers in the place. Still...we're there to eat, not provide chat for a boring day at your restaurant. We actually breathed a huge sigh of relief when the guy disappeared into the back & didn't come back out. 614Gyro seems to be doing a good delivery business, so I'm happy they're succeeding that way. And when we next crave gyros, we'll opt for doordash delivery, too. I recommend the same, especially if the place is nearly empty when you go. read more

My son was crestfallen when Rodo's closed; the location is near us and he loved their food. He was leery of trying Gyropolis, but I got him to try it last night. Success. Gyropolis has carried on the torch of great food. I had the traditional gyro because that's the real test of a place like this, and it was fantastic; tasty, hot, and it did not fall apart (pet peeve). The fries were scrumptious . . . crispy, well-seasoned, and reason enough for a visit. Can't speak on the service because it was take-out and my son picked it up, but I will definitely return and report back. read more

I stopped into 614Gyro today for the first time, and got a regular to go. I've had many gyros from alot of different places around town (anyone remember Gyro Chef on Lane Avenue?), and it was definitely up there with the best. The quality of the meat impressed me the most; it was the real thing, not the 'spam lamb' some places have. The other menu items look good too, with very reasonable prices. Only been open a few short days, but I really enjoyed my meal here and thought it was reasonably priced. I got the gyro (in the pita not the sandwich) along with some mozz sticks. Both were very flavorful and made me want to come back! Service was good and speedy as well! read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while so I popped in for lunch to go. Ordered a chicken gyro, good variety of fresh veggies in it, had a good amount of chicken too. Here's what I'd change - chicken pieces are too big, I'd cut these up smaller so you don't get one giant piece in one bite. A couple of pieces were grizly too, hated that! Most important thing - where was the tzatziki sauce??? I didn't taste any. My gyro was hard to handle too, I'd wrap these so that one end is closed and you pull the wrapper down as you go hence all your fillings stay in tact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was constanly picking up droppings to put back in. Price was decent for the amt of food and real chicken. I guess in essence, I was disappointed. Not sure I'll be back. With a few tweaks, this place could be better. read more

Great new place in the Ville..... met the owner .... Vincey is a great guy leading this new establishment. Gyro was awesome filled to brim with traditional gyro toppings. Well organized, clean with a well rounded menu. Food was a hit. We had the gyro, burger and Greek fries (topped with feta and tzatziki sauce). Everyone needs to hit this place before or after OSU Football games this fall. read more
