When confronted (after we had spent 30 minutes brousing the store section), the teenager in charge said they were waiting for the kitchen to re-open because they only had two cooks, and 15 orders were already waiting. At least they didn't seat us, take orders and make us wait. Try Phoenix Restaurant, it's next door. Pretty much a classic, good food, good drinks. Sometimes good bands. Pro Tip: your girl will probably get hit on by some random drunk dude, so be prepared. this has happened a couple times. It's just that sort of place, with that sort of clientele. read more

Our original goal was to pick up brats from Mars Cheese Castle. Unfortunately, they were out of brats, and suggested we try the Brat Stop. We ordered takeout for five people. While we were waiting for the order, we noticed several of the bar staff and waitstaff were either not wearing masks, or had them pulled down around their chins. In addition, we could see into the kitchen and most of the cooking staff similarly were not wearing masks or had their masks pulled down around their chins. As we were leaving, we asked to talk to a manager. He told us staff don't have to wear masks if they have "health issues" and the health department has no way of getting their health records. It's clear management has no interest in employees complying with Wisconsin's mask mandate. We won't be stopping here again. Also, their brats weren't nearly as good as Mars Cheese Castle. An American Classic, great place to watch a football game, or a concert. You can find alot of old 80's bands playing there, it is like a washed up band circuit. If you remember Roadhouse it is kinda like the Double Duece without most of the fighting. Bears/Packers games are always eventful! The brats are great, fresh saurekraut thats homemade. Stopped here so my partner could get some New Glarus beer while waiting to meet my mom to get my wallet I had left by her. I was with in the store but not buying anything obviously. He was carded, he's 34 and showed appropriate ID. Then she refused to let him buy his beer because I was with and didn't have my ID. She asked if we were married. I told the truth and said no, even though had I said yes she was going to let us buy. For the record, I'm 48 and definitely look old enough to buy beer. She still wouldn't serve. I refuse to go in there ever again after the way we were treated. I understand they have the right to ask for ID but to not allow someone to legally buy in that way cost them two customers and a lot of bad word of mouth from here forward. read more

Another Kenosha tradition..Believe it or not alot of famous people have been in here.. I worked here as a young woman and got to hear alot of great stories.The food is good,...the place in enormous..you could easily get lost! There are lots of band that play and planty of places to sit and eat or drink..The Parkway chateu is just beautiful, I went to a company party there..Very nice. I went here because I had heard from many that I should try it. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't what I expected it to be either. The brats were just ok and the prices about average for the type of food they serve. Where The Brat Stop failed was service. Our server was not only non attentive during the early portion of our visit but she kept us waiting for 15-20 minutes after we had finished our meal before we got the check. She would've kept us waiting longer if it wasn't for us stopping another server and asking him to find out where our bill was. Not sure if I'll go back. read more

Slower than molasses service, bad food (p.s. I did not try the bratwurst), and smelly servers (one of them hadn't used deodorant in quite the long while). There were three people behind the bar that I was sitting at, and nobody came to serve me, until a guy from the back noticed me after sitting there for, I kid you not, seven minutes. It doesn't seem long reading it, but it is long sitting it. Once again, the food was overcooked and the drink was all right, but I would never tell someone to go there! This is my 8 yr. old daughter's review: "Brat Stop is okay, it is just a little bit run down. Because, the pig and the horse don't work. And, the Bears go really fast and it is kind of scary because there is a Terminator game. The seats are all torn up and there is always sauerkraut and pickles when you get there. But, the there is wonderful Sprecher Root Beer and good grilled cheeses." This is my review: Brat Stop has been a family tradition since I can remember. My mom crossed the border as a teenager to watch concerts (and enjoy the lower drinking age.) As for me, the quality over the last several years continues to go downhill. Now, instead of enjoying an awesome basket of Mertz cheddar fries, I get charged two dollars for a teeny bucket of cheese whiz with my fries. Overall, I think things went downhill when they started to focus on banquets instead of the main restaurant. And, attracting groups at night for dancing. I'll always still go to the Brat Stop because it feels like home. But, I can't help but wish it was still a place where I craved to go for the food. read more

It's been many years since I've eaten here and it will probably be many more before I'm back. Kind of a traditional stop for Illinoisans who vacation in Wisconsin. The place is in pretty bad disrepair and in my opinion my veal brat was just ok. My wife's salad looked terrible but it tasted ok. read more

First off, a bit of history. I've been coming here with my family since I was a child (so about 20 years or so), and I've had nothing but good things to say. Granted in the past 3 years or so, I've only been back a handful of times, but nothing had ever really tainted my memories of this place. That ended with yesterday's tragic display of customer service. When me and my fiance got in, it took them over 15 minutes to get us a table. This was despite the fact that all the seats away from the bar were vacant, and only about 80% of the seats next to the bar were taken, and there were at least 4 servers working the floor. We finally got sat down, and the host apologized for the wait, which was good (granted he also said it was a busy night, which made me wonder if there was a definition for "busy" that I had not been acquainted with as of yet). Our waiter came to us not too far from that time, and took our order (cups of cheddar soup and our entrees), but the food never came. We waited about 20 minutes, and never even got our soup. Our waiter had to have passed by us at least 5 times, with no mention that our food was going to be ready. I'll admit the inner workings of a restaurant kitchen are a mystery to me, but apparently there is a fine art to scooping soup with a ladle, pouring it into a bowl and adding crackers that I was not aware of. Between the terrible door service, terrible waiter service and flat soda, my fiance and I decided to leave a dollar on the table for the soda, left the restaurant and have vowed never to come back. The service could be tolerable if the food were something amazing, but it's really not. The food is only really good through a child's mind of money being no object and having your parents foot the bill. The brats are admittedly good, but not $7 good (especially since they come with the fine cuisine of Lay's potato chips). Same with the grilled cheese, made with what seems like Wonderbread and Kraft Singles. The vast majority of the food is something you can make at home if you have rudimentary knowledge of cooking. Between this evening and the Congo River minigolf down the street being closed (and replaced by a Honda dealership no less), I believe it's safe to say my inner child has been savagely beaten and thrown off a cliff. Stay away if you're coming here just to eat. read more

Brat stop is fantastic! We just moved to Kenosha a couple months ago and been to the establishment a few times. This place is excellent. The staff is awesome as well especially Liz! Food is delicious and they have fantastic drink specials. Can't wait to go back again. They also participate in safe ride for patrons have may have over indulged. Update: One complaint. My husband called to make reservations for 15 people in the bar area for his birthday party, which was going to be during a Blackhawks playoff game. They told him they don't take reservations and that there will be plenty of bar area seating available. We arrived and the hostess told me "the only tables left in the bar area were reserved" ....yes you read that correct...other people were able to make reservations while my husband was told they can't take reservations. Luckily, the large table in the beer garden was open. This was after the hostess told me the beer garden was already full but I went to check anyways. This was a very frustrating experience. Bad planning for the Prince Experience show tonight. No bartender and no wait staff for the upper level. Lots of lost revenue for them. Plus, VIP sections had no extra service. I'd be pissed as hell to spend $50 per person and then had to walk downstairs for drinks. Also, we have been told for 5 years that they don't do VIP areas and now all of a sudden they have VIP. This guy Nick running the show was rude and acted like a complete DICK! Very disappointed!!! Our group usually brings in over 60 couples for various shows and we SPEND a lot of money and know how to tip our servers and bartenders well. We may not be "VIP" in name but our dollars spend just the same. read more

Been to this place SEVERAL times. In the past would have given it a 4 star. Now, forget this place. There were four of us, 2 adults and 2 teens. We dropped over $80 on food and drink. The teens decided they wanted to play games so we stayed after dinner. One of the games was like skee-ball, but on a smaller scale and with an air gun. The kids got enough points to win a prize. No prize dropped. We went to the bar, the best they could do was refund the money. They decided to play some video games for a while...that lasted about thirty minutes. They noticed several other prize machines they didn't try. A few were the claw games. One was a similar concept, but with a bar the you moved over and up. You had to line it up precisely with a hole. If the bar went in the hole it poked out a prize. One of the kids was able to get it lined up perfectly. It started pushing the prize out and got stuck. I went to the bar. This is what ensued: Me: "Excuse me, the kids won a prize, but the machine malfunctioned." Manager: "You already got reimbursed, why did you play the same game?" Me: "Uhhhh...it was a different machine." Manager: "How much?" Me: "$1." Manager: "I'll give you your money back one more time. Do us a favor and stop playing games." Me: "So you're asking us to stop spending our money here?" Manager: "Basically." So, I will stop spending my money there. Simple request, simply done. There is an arcade right across the street, so sure, I'll stop spending $80 on food and eat at one of the MANY fast food restaurants in the area before going to Action Territory with the kids. read more

This place is nothing less than Kooky! Store front with all things Wisconsin available to procure and a restaurant attached. Grabbed an assortment bag of cheese curds to put us in the Wisconsin mood. Never actually made it in to eat. Went back later that night for dinner and it had turned into an Olympic sized dance party! I am not kidding! Ambulance outside awaiting party casualties, mercenary security on duty, every 20 to 30 something in the county there.......scared the poop out of me and my mid 40 wife. We went to BWW instead. I have been going to this place since my childhood. I have always loved the brats here. The top spot to go to if you want a classic bratwurst in Wisconsin. My favorite is the Cheddar Brat with fried cheese curds and cole slaw. The flavor of the brat is so amazing. It has a great snap and juiciness and there is so much cheese stuffed in the brat. If that's not enough, it's also topped with cheddar cheese and melted so it's just gooey and cheesy deliciousness. The fried cheese curds are gooey and crispy. The cole slaw is crunchy and sweet. Best brats in Wisconsin to ever have and is a must stop if your ever in Kenosha. read more

The cheese curds were wonderful. I didn't care for anything else that was ordered. The "coffee" was a clear brown watery substance that was made almost undrinkable by the dairy free, slightly chalky tasting "creamer". Milk was not an option, oddly. Lesson learned though, if coffee is flavourless to begin with, do not think adding anything to it will make it more tolerable. Just go with it, as-is. The brats were overpriced when the mediocre quality/flavour is factored in. This place was a tourist trap with a huge stage for bands. The gift shop and local information pamphlets should have been a hint as to the quality of this venue. The service was pretty much non existent. However, everything was clean, including the bathroom, so two stars is fair. read more

Can't drive by the giant CHEESE sign without making a stop here. Been going to the Brat Stop for years. The brats here are very good some of the best in Wisconsin. Still not as good as the Brat House in Milwaukee these are still worth the stop. The cheese curds here are also great and worth the trip. Service her can be spotty at times. I have had both great service and ok service here. Also be sure to check if there is a band in town when you stop. This place can get really loud when a band is playing. Over all the food here is great and worth the stop. Items are a bit pricy for what you get however. THe snack shop here is also worth a stop. They sell brats to take home (a must get :)) and some great cheeses as well as good craft beers. The spotted cow beer is a local favorite and a must try if you haven't had it. read more

They have live music at times and several t.v's if you want to catch a game. Even though this place is massive, I recommend a seat at the bar. That seems to be where all the action is. read more

People are crazy, the food here is so good! I love the local beers offered and the friendly bar tenders -I think that is a Midwest thing! Don't mess with a table, go to the bar get a local brewski, garlic or cheesy brat - heck get both with a side of red cabbage and German potato salad, SOOOOOOO good!!! The red cabbage is the BEST! We went for dinner then to see a band. We specifically asked the host if we ate there would there be a cover for the band since we got there 2 hours early. He clearly indicated that there wouldn't be a cover since we were there beforehand. After dinner we moved closer so that we could see the band. A bouncer came up to us & harassed us to pay the cover. We explained what we were told. He argued with us. Well had we known this we would've ate elsewhere & then paid the cover for the band. We settled for subpar good to forgo the cover only to get harassed. Never again! Shame on you Brat Stop!! read more

This is probably the worst bar I've ever been to in my life. I wouldn't recommend coming here to my worst enemy. They have terrible service and the food wasn't fully cooked.
