Don't hesitate to try this place!..passed it many times and finally ,made the call for takeout. Had the lomo chicken, Lomo steak, Chaufa beef, tallerin Saltado w shrimp. All were excellent, one better than the other, full of flavorful,fresh ingredients. Not sure what the small containers of green sauce is, but it packs some heat. A nice addition to the dish. I order takeout pretty often when I'm in this area and wanted to try something new so I gave this place a try. I've never had Peruvian food before and never had lomo before, but after eating it here I probably ordered it again 4 more times. The beef and rice was seasoned and cooked really well and everything in the dish was full of flavor. It also is a pretty good portion size so I was full after. The dish is pretty expensive at 18 dollars, but after having lomo at different restaurants it seems that is pretty average. Every time I've eaten here it has been through delivery so I can't say anything about the restaurant itself, but the food has been great. Overall really enjoyed this places lomo saltado. I ordered the lomo with chicken also, but the beef one is much better in my opinion. I've only ever eaten those two things from here so can't comment on anything else. I've ordered lomo at two other places since eating it here, and I think the lomo at Bravo Peru is the best. read more

Just wanted to say with Covid and everything that's going on I hope those who live on this side or are passing through to please support your local businesses. With that being said three years ago arriving late in LaGuardia headed north we stopped here around 11:30pm at night. Mr. Bravo and one other employee working there were so great to serve us a late dinner that was much needed from a long day of travel. Such great and friendly service not to mention one of the best lomo saltado I've ever had. The food was excellent fresh well-made and so full of flavor exactly what you would need when thinking about something to comfort you. It's definitely a hidden gem and hopefully most of you will stumble upon and support these types of businesses who strive to not only give you the best but embrace you with it's great friendly customer service. Definitely thinking about this please and hopefully when we are able to travel soon I make a trip up to the northern part of New York we will definitely make a stop here. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for a good while but every time I came they were closed. I thought they went out of business until one day I called ahead and was told that they open at 5:30pm. I was thrilled to finally have my chance to see what all the fuss was about. ( I will submit a time edit for their page.) Upon our arrival, we were greeted immediately and beverage and food orders were taken. The service was very efficient and friendly. Seating is limited but plenty available when we arrived. Now to the food.....this had to be HANDS DOWN the BEST Lomo Saltado I've ever had!! I mean it was cooked to perfection! The beef was fresh, well seasoned, properly charred and the sauce was amazing! It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth that I didn't want to end. It was the best thing that had happened to me all day. Lol! A very pleasant surprise. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you're craving good Peruvian food, especially Lomo Saltado. I would also recommend going later in the evening around 6:30. Fantastic quaint Peruvian place tucked away in a quiet street. The place is quite casual, so just show up as you like. There seems to be only 1 chef in the kitchen, so the wait can be a little bit if theres others in the restaurant. I went at 10pm so there was a short wait thankfully. The Lomo Saltado was calling my name, so I had to order it. Its only $13, and it was so flavorful. I was seriously tempted to order another one in the middle of eating it. I suggest putting some of dat green sauce on top. If youre in the area and youre hungry, trust me, just pop in and order a lomo saltado. Youll be converted. read more

I wanted to love this little hole in the wall but definitely a miss for me. The food smelled great and presentation was good as well. Decent portion along with a decent price. The chicken was a dry, chalky, bland disgrace. Could not pay me to believe it was fresh, definitely minimum a day old. I could not stomach one piece. The rice and vegetables on the other hand were good. My friend had steak and while the steak seemed fresher it was bland and extremely terribly chewy. Good food, large quantities, but lengthy wait times. It's a small space with like one person cooking, so your order can take quite a while to come out. There's also limited seating so I'd recommend take out. They were out of seafood, but had fish still, so I ended up with the fish tallarín saltado. It was extremely flavorful and the fish was good, but got a soggy on the trip back from the restaurant. The steak, chicken, shrimp, or seafood would all probably be better suited for take out than the fish. read more

Last night was the first time I tried this place and I wish I knew about it sooner. The staff was friendly and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. I ordered the Lomo Mixto (Angus beef+ chicken w/ all traditional fixing) it was hands down best lomo I ever had. Not only did they give an extremely generous size portion of meat and chicken but each and every piece was cooked to perfection. I know I will definitely be coming back here for sure. read more

Came here on a gloomy, rainy, and cold night (very fitting atmosphere for a mad breakup melodramatic movie). We could have stayed in our hotel room and ordered room service, but we braved the cold and came to check this place out anyway. UH YES WE BROUGHT LEFTOVER HOME. Lomo saltado: 5/5 - please don't tell me how much fat/cooking oil was used to make it taste so delicious. I'm okay dying without knowing, but i'll come back just for this dish alone. Chaufa de carnes: 4/5 - was also very delicious. Maybe by the time we got to this one, my tummy was already happy and my brain started to tell me to slow down on the calories :(. Okay, I forgot to take pictures of dishes. Simply because we were hungry and the food was beyond excellence. This place is unlike expensive fancy Peruvian spots where they serve mediocre food. The place is very small and at home like yet the food is guaranteed that will make your head nods!!! My husband ordered Lomo as always. We could hear the sound of pans being flipped here and there, and next thing you know, the dish was served steaming. I could tell immediately that Lomo was cooked in a right way with a hot wok with flaming fire as they cook in Peru. The perfection of the food was so well executed with simple ingredients. My dish was Tallalin Verde con Bistec, which was beyond perfection. I know many of Peruvian restaurants do NOT know how to cook this dish, yet it was just so delicious. I am giving more than five stars for this place and a chef who came out and spoke to us. It is the matter of technique and simplicity served on the plates rather service and how places looks. We went for some late night food and took a chance on this little dive. Wow! We were so impressed with the quality of food and the robust flavors in every bite. For authentic Peruvian food at an amazing price and very high quality ingredients, this is the spot! Only 8 dishes on the menu, we had the steak and chicken! Best lomo saltado in the area. Have only ordered takeout. This is a family run joint so ordering and timing are a struggle sometimes. The chef definitely takes pride in his food and it is delicious. However, sometimes waiting for your food that was supposed to be ready 10 minutes ago while he is talking to people at the counter is maddening. Also, sometimes the orders are not quite right. First time I ordered I asked for 2 lomo mixtos with beef and chicken. Instead, I only got beef. Another time, the sunnyside up eggs I asked for on top of our lomo saltado orders were forgotten. Also, just a warning, a lot of oil is used when cooking. All this being said, I will return as the food is delicious. read more

Ok so when you think of those hole in the wall joints that have the best food, this right here is the place. We stumbled across this restaurant based on yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. The tallarín verde is the Peruvian pesto of my dreams. Seriously. The salichipapa was yummy and the lomo saltado was rustic and flavorful. I want to give this a half star extra with the only downside being that I could not have a cold one with my meal. This though, will not deter from seconds. We will be back. read more

The food speaks for itself. I've tried the grilled chicken which was super delicious and perfectly cooked. I've tried the mussel soup and it was spicy and amazing. I've tried the chaufa with chicken and it's the best I've had. And last but definitely not least. .. the Lomo saltado. If you aren't familiar with this classic peruvian dish... idk what to tell you. Get to know it lol.. its amazing and he makes it the best here. It's a family business which makes me appreciate it more . The portions are huge so as well so you'll be more then satisfied. I really wanted to like this place and give it five stars. All the ingredients were there - A small hole in the wall place, the hard-working mom and pop owners and the slightly sketchy neighborhood. That all usually adds up to phenomenal food. In this case appearances were deceiving. I read the many positive reviews and drove up with some expectations. Street parking wasn't too difficult to find and I walked in and placed a take-out order. The food is cooked up fresh while you wait and I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order to be prepared. I ordered what I thought was standard pollo a la brasa with white rice and french fries, chaufa de carne (steak fried rice) and Side orders of beans, deep fried potatoes and onions and lime juice (cebolla criolla). I have to say the place seemed short staffed. That was only the cook, who I presume is the owner and someone who I think is his wife. But the two of them could not keep up with the number of orders coming in. While I was waiting, people walked in, waited for a few minutes to be served and then left without placing an order. They were frustrated that no one was there at the counter to greet them or they sat down and no one came by to take their order. Anyway, I got my food, drove home and my wife, daughter and I tucked into it. Turns out the chicken wasn't the standard Peruvian pollo a la brasa But instead some thing more like grilled chicken. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I was expecting. But the rest of the food lacked flavor. I'm used to the Peruvian joints in Port Chester, with the food bursts with flavor. This food clearly lacked flavor. Even the green sauce tasted flat, almost having an herb like aftertaste. My wife thought it tasted like onions. No heat, no flavor to the sauce. Everything looked great, but just didn't have the intensity of flavor I am used to. The People are friendly, the place is clean and bright, but the food just lacks flavor in my opinion. But I am going to go back and give it another chance. The Lomo saltado looks good and deserves a tasting. As I said, all the ingredients are there for a truly epic experience. Maybe they were just having a bad night and were handling too many orders at once. I will keep you posted. read more

This is definitely a hidden jem on Ferris. The owner who I assume is also the Chef was accommodating and was definitely proud of his Peruvian heritage. We ordered the steak with peppers and the grilled chicken. They were both cooked to perfection. The steak was juicy and flavorful and the peppers had just the right amount of crunch. Came here on a Friday as a result of all the positive reviews and it was well worth it!! We ordered Lomo salteado and mixed chauffan. Both very delicious and freshly made. The owner/chef came out to make small talk and we found out the secret to his delicious Lomo is... the high flame. All in all the food was absolutely delicious. There was plenty of parking outside and the restaurant itself is a very small "mom and pop" style place. There is plenty of seating, nothing fancy but the service was good and definitely well worth the freshness and taste!!! read more

My family and I were craving for Peruvian food so we decided to search on line for any restaurant or take out place in our area, we tried a few places in the past but none of them are close to be good. We found out that 2 months ago Bravo Peru Take Out opened, I wasn't sure if it was the same owner from the old Bravo Peru. We ordered 5 different dishes, once we arrived they took care of us right away the attention was incredible even though we were only there for pick up. We found out it is the same owner of the old Bravo Peru. We ordered Lomo Saltado, Tallarines verdes, Tallarin Salatado, Arroz Chaufa and Milanesa de pollo with White Rice and french fries. Every single dish had great flavors, the taste of the food was good. Definitely the best around so far. We hope he increases the dishes of his menu like "ceviche" or anything with mariscos. Overall Small take out location, limited dishes, great food, the price is right, great attention from an enthusiastic family business. What a hidden gem. I was very skeptical since the location reminds me of your local Chinese spot in your neighborhood. But HOLY MOLLY, by far the best Lomo Saltiado you will ever have. Since visiting this location I have tried several Peruvian restaurants and since I can't find one that comes close to the flavor. I have visited this place since I discovered it, 6 times already. LISTEN. The food here is bomb and the closest to Peru you're going to get. We ordered the Lomo Saltado, the shrimp fried rice, and the shrimp soup and ate all of it. There were no leftovers because the food was so good. The woman behind the counter was very nice and even offered to take the tails off our shrimp.
