This place was a complete disappointment. The first time I ordered, the food arrived late, cold, and the quality was terrible. Definitely not worth the price. I decided to give them another chance, which I now regret. On my second order, the restaurant called me within minutes about a simple substitution I requested (fried rice instead of white rice) and flat-out refused to make any changes. They told me to cancel the order, which I agreed to. Since I ordered through Grubhub, I contacted them, but they needed confirmation from the restaurant and couldn't get through. When I called the restaurant back, the experience got even worse. The woman on the phone was rude, dismissive, and accused me of never contacting Grubhub, even calling me a liar. Completely unprofessional. Between the poor food quality and the way customers are treated, I definitely won't be ordering from here again. read more

My first visit, its a nice place in a good location. There is parking in the back. They have lunch specials, but I ordered a chicken fried rice. It comes with a fried plantain on the side. The rice dish was a little bland, but they bring a side of hot sauce that goes very well with the rice. They have canned drinks. Service was very good. read more

This mom and pop joint is bringing some much needed Central and South American flair to the area in between Peekskill and Ossining! I've been here twice now - once not long after they opened, the second time about a year later. The food is delicious, and the portions ample. I simply couldn't get over hoe slow the meal moved. The place isn't really a show-down, sit-down restaurant per se, but they welcomed us, made us a $45 pitcher of sangria which was a little light on the fresh fruit, but was tasty, and seemed to forget we were there. We had to ask to place our orders. The food was yummy once it arrived, but the empanada took quite a while to come, by which time we were starving (and slightly tipsy from all that sangria on an empty stomach). The bill came to a bit more then I feel it should have given the service, but again, the food was tasty and made fresh, so all in all a good choice! read more

I drive by this place everyday on my way home from work, and always thought about trying it. I'm really happy I did because the food is DELICIOUS! The menu has a wide variety of food to choose from to satisfy anyone's craving. I ordered the mixed ceviche as an appetizer, and it was perfectly seasoned, and great size for sharing. Then I ordered the fish with veggies and noodles, I wasn't disappointed. It isn't easy to make white fish taste so good, and the portions are very very generous. My father had the same dish, but with beef, he loved it. The chef came out twice: once to ask how everything once, and another to thank us. I thought it was a kind gesture. Overall: definitely come here. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming, the food is delicious, and portions generous. I cannot say enough good things about El Condor. We have lived in the area for just over a month now and I have ordered from here about 4-5 times, each time to my wife's chorus of "Peruvian again?". Yes Peruvian again! It's perhaps the best Peruvian I've ever had (nay the best any food I've ever had) and is not one of those places that just does one or two things well, literally all the dishes I've had are winners. My favs are lomo saltado (de res or de pollo - don't worry chicken was cooked perfect and not dried as you may expect from a Latin joint), and the Arroz chaufa (again the protein doesn't matter - they cook both beef and chix well). Also wifey got the Milanesa one time and I recall it was pretty kick ass. If you are looking to fill up and have left overs I highly recommend the Bandeja Paisa - My only criticism is that the meat to carb ratio is retardedly skewed (for most dishes actually), but honestly everything is seasoned to perfection so who the hell cares?! (Okay I would like a little more meat) Green sauce here is pretty good (my fav is still from Pio Pio in the city but who's splitting nails over a condiment), and I need to remember to ask for it when we eat here, as it is not typically included in take out or delivery. If you never tried a drink made of corn, here's your chance to do so. Order the Chicha Morada - it's oddly addictive. The spices in it remind me of something fall or winter seasonal...maybe pumpkin pie? I can never quite put my finger on it! Finally if you are rocking a sweet tooth, I loved the flan and rice pudding. Unfortunately we lost most of the pudding in delivery transit but nbd. New businesses have some learning curves but I hope this one gets the support required to flourish since the foundation they are building is incredibly strong. Keep killing it in the kitchen! Be Careful If You Pay With Cash! Got a dinner that cost $15.11. Gave the dude $20.11. He's looking in the drawer and gave me back the last four singles in the drawer. I told him he owed me $5.00. He said no I don't. He then says if I gave him $21.11 I would get back $5.00. Can you imagine! Don't care how good the food is they just LOST my business. I genuinely don't even wanna give this place any stars. We waited an hour and a half for our food because there's only one waitress and she forgot to put in our order. I understand this as I'm a waitress too. But she didn't care to acknowledge her mistake, as two tables both got their food and left- mind you they came way after we did. Then I speak to the manager and he tells me "let's not make a scene go sit down and enjoy your food". We ask for the tab and it takes another 30 minutes to get the tab. Then we ask for a discount. We arrived around 630pm. We're leaving at 930pm. The manager said "no discount because our food is cheap." Then he said 2 dollars off of our $92 tab. Really good local Peruvian spot, nothing like it in the area. Full menu, everything was delicious. For appetizers we had the Ceviche Mixto (spicy) and Choros a La Chalaca and both were delicious. For our mains we had Lomo Saltado de Res (would have preferred a little bit more steak in the dish but it was delicious) and the Pescado a Lo Macho but with Peruvian sauce instead of the creamy sauce it normally comes with. Prices were very fair and the service couldn't have been better. We were greeted by the owner who also checked in with us during the meal and made us feel extremely welcome. Our waiter was also excellent. Both were quite attentive and very concerned that we were happy with everything, which we were. Free delivery is a huge plus as well, especially in this area. Horrible food and service at this place. We ordered a jalea, two lomo saltados, one beef chaufa and two shrimp chaufaus. The jalea was ok, the lomos were not traditional Peruvian style and the chaufas were terrible (too much ajonjoli seasoning and the shrimp were overcooked). Bad food aside, what left a worst taste in my mouth was the service - dirty tables and chairs, old silverware, dirty and wet plates (that we needed to ask for when our jalea came out because they didn't bring any), it took forever for someone to come take out order... just the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I loved this place under the original management, and when it changed hands last fall, I noticed that they kept the same menu. I have been back twice and the food is still great. I love the Tallarin Saltado de Pescado (noodles with fish). The Choclo Peruano con Queso (corn with cheese) is also very good. The portions are generous. read more

Best Peruvian I've ever had. Exceptional flair, care, and freshness. I can't single out anything, because everything is of such uniformly high-quality. I almost feel bad for those who haven't eaten in dozens of lesser Peruvian restaurants, and therefore don't understand that this is absolutely best-of-genre. Good item to start out with: Chaufa de Mariscos. This is like Chinese fried rice that went to Peruvian grad school. Tried to use Restaurant.com money and saw El Condor on the list. I remember reading a positive write-up in the local paper awhile back and wanted to try it. Bad sign #1: Entered the restaurant at 6:15 pm and not a soul around except the owner and the server. No one else entered the restaurant before we left and the phone (take-out) was not ringing at all. Bad sign #2: The owner was using one of the tables as a desk, I'm thinking he was reviewing bills or preparing his taxes. Who does that? Not if you're busy. Bad sign #3 - After being seated the server saw our restaurant.com certificate and told us they didn't accept them anymore. My wife was ready to walk out but we decided to stay and altered what we were going to order. The Good - the deep fried pork rinds (chicharron con arepa) were tasty and the Columbian countrymen's platter offered a good sampling of chicharron, steak, rice and beans, egg, and plantain. The plantains were the best thing on the dish. Sorry to say it doesn't look like they are going to be in business much longer but I could be mistaken; I hope so as I'd love to try some of their seafood dishes. read more

Be sure to ask for green hot sauce which is not very hot but delicious. The waitress/owner recommended the mariscos soup (seafood) which was huge and full of fresh seafood. Unusual broth made with fresh ginger, served with noodles. Hubby had the steak with onions and Peruvian sauce. Steak was very flavorful and sauce excellent, served with rice, sweet plantains and avocado, for $15.00. Loved the rice pudding, cold and creamy. Staff could not be sweeter, checking several times on us, and speak English fluently so able to accommodate. Very clean. Worth a visit. Website has detailed photos, which is better than menu. Menu says things are fried when in photo they are not, but website is more accurate. Menu doesn't mention it but they serve wine, beer and sangria. Huge pours on wine. read more
