We came here for dinner on a Friday after seeing folks enjoying their meals from the window as we walked by. When we walked in, we were promptly greeted and seated and given menus to peruse. We ordered the chicha morada to drink. Deliciously, well made and generous in portion, not too sweet--Perfect. To eat, we ordered the Leche de Tigre, Pollo a la Brasa with Maduros, and Lomo Saltado. The leche de tigre was perfection. Fresh, flavorful and a generous portion size. Perfect for sharing. I was super excited for the lomo as it's one of my favorite Peruvian dishes. Unfortunately, it left much to be desired. It simply was not fresh--the steak was dry, tough and lukewarm, the fries were cold, and the rice was cold and hard. As a result, the dish was barely touched. I told the waitress, and while she was surprised and provided the feedback to the kitchen, she didn't offer compensation or a remake. The pollo a la brasa was delicious. Hot, fresh, juicy and a generous portion size. The maduros were good but not cooked on both sides, which was a bit strange but still satisfactory as an accompaniment to the chicken. This dish was served with the arroz chaufa, which was well executed. Super flavorful. The ambiance is clean, mom-and-pop vibes--no frills, but good service and good food. So we were in the area and came upon this place. Reviews looked really good so we decided to try it out. We were greeted right away and we were told to select our table in a back due to the front was kind of packed already. The kitchen is right in the front as well. The back is a bit more spacious. It was very clean and tidy. Our waiter gave us our menu. We decided to go with the the passion fruit pitcher which was worth it. For our main dish, I got the south saltode morascos, which is pasta and mixed seafood. It was huge and very filling. Had to take the leftovers home. My sister got the ceviche which was tilapia I believe, wasn't the best but wasn't terrible either. Overall, was very friendly and attentive, and the place was actually busy when we were there. So they seemed to be a really good spot if you're in the mood for good Peruvian food with huge portions. read more

Wow. What an amazing gem of a place!!! Eat here!!! lol. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating and well lit. Let's go right to the food!!! First and foremost!!! Choros a la Chalaca!!! AMAZING!!!! I mean AMAZING!!! The chicken was good and flavorful and their Tallerines Verde with Bistek was yummy!!! This place was darn good. I came here for lunch and it was amazing. We ordered the lunch special and it was delicious. I ordered the papa a la huancaina which was good. Then for the entree I ordered a beef stew which was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and well seasoned. I really enjoyed the food. The waitress was great, very friendly and informative regarding the food. My coworker ordered the fried fish and it was delicious; she let me try a piece. We came here for dinner one night. The restaurant is very casual and has diner-style booths surrounding the open kitchen area. The restaurant was not crowded when we were there, but they seemed to be doing a lot of take-out orders. We ordered lomo saltado and chaufa de pollo, both of which were delicious. Lomo Saltado: of course you gotta get this and the beef was flavorful and tender, the fries were great, the rice was good too. The sauce was so delicious but I wish they mixed it into the beef a little better. Jalea: never tried this before at a peruvian spot and I had a group of 4 so we ordered the large size... I was SHOOKETH when they came out with one of those LARGE rectangular party platter/trays... It wasn't full up to the brim but it was still a LOT of seafood and for $40.. def worth it. My friends and I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. Def would recommend checking this place out but maybe start of with the smaller size for jalea. read more

A quick Yelp search found this restaurant near our hotel. Based on the ratings, we decided to head there and were very glad we did. The dining room was quiet when we arrived, but after eating, we were surprised to find it so empty. I ordered Yuca Frita (fried yucca) since my colleague hadn't ever had it. It was great! Crispy and perfect. I ordered the Tacu Tacu con entraña (tacu tacu with skirt steak). The rice dish was new to me and I'm so glad I tried it. The skirt steak was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The accompanying lightly pickled onions were a great counterpoint. My colleague got the Lomo Saltado which she enjoyed. I didn't sample it, but it looked perfect. Quality Peruvian food in White Plains! My husband and I were on the hunt for a good jalea and came across a few reviews on this place. We decided to give it a try and boy are we so glad we did! I ordered a chaufa mixta and my husband had a jalea personal. Our waitress gave us some of the best service I've ever experienced. She provided extra sauce and plates without asking, offered to pack our leftovers and even added some extra ahí. She also brought a huge plate of pickled onions for the jalea, which I've never seen done before. It was delicious. The chaufa had an authentic Peruvian flavor and the seafood, especially the fish in the jalea was so fresh. In other Peruvian places we've been to, the jalea is mostly fried yuca, but the jalea here had a great portion of all types of seafood, including two pieces of crab on top. Just a heads up, this place is busy, there is lots of movement with deliveries and cooking close by, but don't let that deter you. The staff seem to get along great and it's overall a great vibe. I enjoy Peruvian food and I wasn't aware of this new place in White Plains. We were trying to find a place to eat on a weekday and it was late. When we arrived the owner kindly mentioned that they were about to close and they had the last 2 pieces of chicken (also clearly stated that it wasn't as fresh as usually they serve). We each ate 1/4 roast chicken (breast) served with french fries and salad. The flavor was good and definitely we'd like to go again another time to test a fresher chicken and other choices. We just had our monthly luncheon club meal at the Qosqo Inca Peruvian restaurant at 5 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains N.Y. The meal was authentic Peruvian and included family style service of 6 appetizers, 5 main dishes, 2 desserts and cold drinks and coffee. the service was top notch and timely. the wait staff was both knowledgeable and pleasant. we were 25 people and everyone had a wonderful time and many will be back. the portions were large and much was taken home. i recommend this restaurant highly. the accommodations are well suited for groups of up to 25-30, as well as families, business meetings, and just excellent Peruvian food. read more

Ambience: diner style,chilly temp. Service:attentive and cheerful. Food: the steak was so chewy and dry and time-consuming to chew that by the time we were halfway done with it the chill in the air turned it cold as well, so we gave up trying to eat it. Our ceviche marinade had a nice citrus tang, but was served refrigerator temp -cold- and seemed to get even colder from the air in the restaurant, but it was otherwise pleasant. This review pains me to post. I have always thoroughly enjoyed the food at this restaurant and the hospitality offered by the gentleman managing it. I've even recommended it to family and friends. Our last visit, left me speechless. The waitress... who we later discovered was nearing the end of her shift... was not the least bit interested in helping us navigate thru the menu after we discovered that their rotisserie chicken...which was why we were there and a staple of their menu... was unavailable... And this was on a Friday evening at 5pm. We decided to order some familiar dishes... Lomo Salteado and Pollo Saltado. I am convinced, that the cook has been replaced, as we have thoroughly enjoyed these dishes on previous visits. Both dishes were extremely salty and appeared to have been flooded with a sort of soy sauce. We asked for our check from the hostess who replaced our waitress... and waited and waited. We were eventually informed that the previous waitress fumbled the orders on their computer and that the owner was trying to sort it out. The owner eventually came with our check... no apology. There are literally 3 Peruvian restaurants within steps of this one... it's time to visit them. read more
