The star was the seafood - so fresh & delicious. We got it 3 ways through the arriba peru platter (paella, cerviche & fried). If you don't know what the get (since the menu is so extensive), this is a great place to start. Each dish on the platter is like an entree or at the very least, a large appetizer of its own. If you want something non seafood, the lomo saltado that we got was yummy as well - we got it over causa (tasted like mashed potato). For a non alcoholic drink, the peruvian purple corn drink was sweet & refreshing! Of note, it was hard to see the price of the items on the iPad menu but they are listed very clearly on the website.

We also got a bowl of guac which was surprisingly inexpensive and delicious. The tacos come in two's, so note to self, TWO IS ENOUGH! I ordered 4, and sent the extras home with her. I'm not sure how these would do as take-out, whether they'd get soggy or not. If you can go off-peak, you might be better off dining in. We were told the credit card machine wasn't working and that we can Zelle or pay cash. The food was good but it wasn't the same and certainly not what I've been eating for 30 years My cousin said she heard it was sold. There were not a lot of customers so the service was quick. I can imagine that if it was busier, service could be slow since I only noticed two people working. There are plenty of tables and it seems like a pleasant atmosphere. The place could use a "deep clean"; there is still painter's tape on the walls, and there is a smell that smells like old cooking oil and a mustiness. I've had plenty of Peruvian in NYC, but it's honestly rare to find pescado saltado- only place I've found it was In Westchester. So, when I saw it on the menu here, I was very pleased! We went at an off hour, so when we arrived, it was empty. We got served right away and service was very prompt. They started us off with some dried corn, a Peruvian classic, and then we got right to our mains. The food was great, the prices are good, and it reminded me of the good old days growing up in Westchester. My friend loved it too- would definitely recommend if you're in the area!
