We just purchased and had installed a Bosch dishwasher. This was our third purchase from B&S. Our first was a Bosch range hood, an installation that required the installer making a hole in the wall for outside exhaust. The technician was very professional and did a great job. I'd give that experience five stars. Our next purchase was a GE Profile refrigerator. The only issue this time was that the installers had to remove the door handles in order to fit the appliance through even our widest door. They called our salesperson, Sharon, who then called us and said there would be an additional charge for that service. I said No Way! I told her that if she would not add on anything further for installation we would tip the installers very well. That worked out, and the guys did a very professional installation (replacing the door handles), for which they were rewarded handsomely with folding green money. But due to the additional-charge hassle I would award only four stars to that purchase. Finally, the dishwasher. We again purchased this from Sharon, and the transaction went as smoothly as possible. We got the day-before automated call, giving us a four-hour window for installation. The installer, Eric, called before he came and showed up about 90 minutes into the time we were quoted. Eric did a brilliant job installing this thing. The surrounding wood enclosure is out of square and the unit therefore could not be fitted perfectly flush with the countertop. Eric must have tried five times to remove it, put it back in, and to make it fit flush with the countertop, and it is almost perfectly aligned, but not quite. That process took him about 20 minutes, and he did everything he could to make it as flush and square a possible. He also used a magnetic bubble level to ensure that the unit was square vertically. I regard this as a wonderful job and couldn't be happier. I don't understand all the negative reviews. They just do not correspond with our experiences at all. Either we have been very lucky, or people with bad experiences are more likely to write reviews. But we would go back there in a minute to buy any other appliance we needed. However, within just a few months of regular use, the range completely broke down. The induction cooktop and oven stopped working, leaving me unable to cook properly and inconvenienced in my family's daily life. Upon discovering the issue, I immediately contacted Bray and Scarff, hoping to receive prompt and efficient service. Unfortunately, this hope was shattered as I was forced to endure an excruciating wait time for their assistance. I acknowledge that repair services may face high demand, but the fact that my range has been unsuccessfully repaired multiple times over a period of two months is absolutely unacceptable. During this period, I have had to resort to alternative cooking methods, resulting in inconvenience and additional expenses. Furthermore, the lack of communication and transparency from Bray and Scarff has been appalling. Despite multiple calls and emails to inquire about the status of my repair, I have been met with vague responses, unfulfilled promises, and a complete lack of accountability. It is frustrating to be left in the dark about the progress of my repair and to feel as though my concerns are being ignored. My experience with the GE Profile Induction Range and Bray and Scarff has been nothing short of a nightmare. The product's premature failure, combined with an unacceptable wait time and inadequate service from the authorized repair provider, has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing through Bray and Scarff to think twice. I have used Bray & Scarff for a couple of years now whenever I have needed to buy new appliances. I have never had any issues. They have price matched, beat competitors prices consistently, and have always recommended appliances to accommodate my family's needs and demands. All this has made me a loyal customer. I went in this past week to buy a new washer / dryer set. The person I have always worked with no longer works there. I was kinda apprehensive. She has been my go to since the beginning. My time is very precious to me and I only had a limited time to check out washer / dryers and to possibly buy a set. Dennis Schunemann is now my new person at Bray & Scarff. He was on point, listened to my needs, recommended a set that he thought would work for me. He did not try to sell me anything I did not need or anything that was out of my price range. In fact, he saved me money by finding me rebates and other incentives on the set that I chose. I was in and out with no hassles or issues at all. Delivery was just as easy. I received an automated call with our delivery time the night before the set was to be delivered. The roads were an icy mess the morning of delivery. We were actually expecting our delivery to be postponed because of it. So imagine my shock when the truck pulls up within the time window I was given. I have NEVER had anything delivered on time let alone on less than stellar roads. The delivery guys (Darryl / Ravell) were amazing! You could tell they were a team and worked seamlessly together. They disconnected the old set, removed it, and had the new set stacked and installed in a fraction of the time it would have taken us to do it. They were even respectful of our 3 kittens that were checking everything out. They double checked the units for leaks or other issues. They were respectful of our time, property, and animals. I have never had a delivery or install go that smoothly and quickly. read more

I replaced all my kitchen appliances for a total kitchen remodel in 2015. With Jake Stone's help, I chose a Jenn-Air 42" built in refrigerator, a double wall oven and warming drawer, gas range top, 36" hood insert/liner/blower, and a microwave drawer. Jake is super personable and easy to work with. I opted to have my kitchen contractor install my appliances, but the refrigerator looked off and the water line (for ice) wasn't working. The Bray & Scarff guys came out to install it correctly - the water line was kinked - and it was SO much better. They were fast and efficient and I would recommend letting them do your installation over a contractor. They are very familiar with the brands/models and know what they're doing. There were a couple of hiccups during the process. The dishwasher I chose initially was not available when I was ready for delivery (months later). However, Jake hustled to find me a floor model in another location and had it delivered quickly. The wrong handle was included with the dishwasher and when the replacement was delivered, it was also wrong. Jake Stone to the rescue! He personally came to my home on his way home from work one evening and installed the correct handle himself. I did not demand this service or even ask for it. A dishwasher handle swap is not a big deal but the problem was ongoing and Jake recognized an opportunity to build the client relationship. I subsequently purchased two more appliances from Jake for a family member's home. I look forward to calling him again when it's time to replace my washer/dryer. Thank you, Bray & Scarff. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! Bought a washer, dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher...all high end, from Bray and Scarff a little over a year ago. Horrible salespeople. They brag about their price matching policy but when I brought in an ad from Home Depot for the exact same appliance the response was, "well, I guess I can match that but I can just kiss my commission goodbye." Nice. Professional huh? Well, this idiot salesman got me back...all of the appliances had mail-in rebates, he filled out everything, highlighted what I needed to sign and said all I needed to do was mail it in. Well, of course one of the rebates had an error and since the time expired by the time I was notified I lost out on $150. Flash ahead 18 months...our dryer stops working. I call Bray and Scarff and the first thing they tell me is, "well, it will probably cost you a lot but we can give you a good deal on a new one." I told them that I would at least like to have someone come out and check it out. I am told a technician will call me within a day. After 3 days and no phone call I finally called a private repair company to come out and fix it. Bray and Scarff are out to sell, sell, sell and they could care less about customer service or integrity. I wanted to purchase from a small, local company vs. a box store to support my community but will be buying my appliances from Sears or Depot in the future. UGH! read more

Bray & Scarff one more time. You may have read my microwave review below. This time I needed to replace a three year old Kenmore highly rated by Consumers Report. Lesson learned. I went to this Frederick store because of my great MW installation experience and bingo! I now am testing out my new KitchenAid DW. * See note below about Bosch (not a Problem, just a heads up to folks with older houses/kitchens.) Stacey helped me on the sales end and I even had to return the Bosch so it turned into an exchange. Here's the nicest part: Richard, our installation tech, was SUPERB and professional in every way. He had to work long and hard on the details because we have a hardwood floor laid over original (1936) linoleum, which changes the height of insert under the granite countertop. Bless you, Richard! * I really wanted a Bosch, my daughter just got one and loves it. However, the Bosch DW is a tiny bit taller than an American brand. So maybe you need a more standard opening than I have. The KitchenAid is running on its test run right now and you can't even tell standing beside it. It's that quiet. Bray and Scarff designer Ilene Kanner created a kitchen for us that is as beautiful as many featured in magazines. Ilene listened to us carefully, and just as carefully steered us away from decisions we might have made (especially regarding paint color) that would not have worked well. She made improvements that might seem minor, such as moving the dishwasher six inches, but that have made a huge difference in the functionality of our kitchen. She designed a kitchen island that is the perfect size for our needs while allowing room for us to move comfortably around it. The spice drawer Ilene designed saves a great deal of cabinet space for other items. Our new cabinets are gorgeous and spacious. The countertops, backsplash and cabinets are visually enhanced by the perfect shade of gray Ilene selected for our walls. Our new stainless steel appliances are beautiful and work perfectly. The kitchen truly is the center of any home. We highly recommend Ilene to anyone wanting to transform their kitchen into a beautiful, welcoming and functional space. read more

I recently purchased a smoothtop vented cook surface from Sharon at the Frederick location. Originally, I wanted a GE model which was listed on the B&S website. Since I was coordinating a partial kitchen renovation Sharon called GE directly to assure the product was available and to get an estimate for delivery time. About a week after the product was ordered Sharon learned that the item was not in production and GE did not know when it would be available. Sharon advised me of alternatives and I selected a different brand. Sharon was knowledgeable, kind and personable. Delivery and installation was delayed due to weather but was rescheduled for a few days later. The installer was excellent and did a fine and careful job. I would like to mention that I also spoke with Stacey when Sharon was unavailable. She was very kind and helped me resolve an unexpected problem. During our recent experience with extended warranty service, the salesperson who sold us our refrigerator, Sharon Foley, was responsive, helpful, and tenacious. When the icemaker problem could not be resolved, she and the Bray and Scarff customer service folks worked to secure us an exchange--a new refrigerator, free of charge. The delivery folks arrived promptly, were extremely efficient and almost wizard-like in their ability to get the old and the new refrigerators through doors and up and down stairs. We like our new model better than the old. And, yes, it is making ice. This refrigerator was our third purchase from Bray & Scarff, Frederick, and third purchase from Sharon. Went to Bray and Scarff last week to replace our slightly over a year old refrigerator--one that we loved. Met salesperson Jeff Manasse who gave us great service. Within a very short time Jeff explained that our "old" refrigerator was replaced with a newer model due to a flaw in the seal of the previous model. My disappointment in having to give up my old refrigerator suddenly changed to relief that I could replace my favorite refrigerator with an updated version. Knowing that we needed to avoid having a spoiled food issue, Jeff made an extra effort to have our new refrigerator delivered at an earlier date than the warehouse stated. Jeff saved us 4 days of waiting! In addition, Jeff helped me with completing an on-line rebate offer when I was not able to do so on my own device. Our 4-year old Kitchen Aid broke for the 4th and last time in only 4 years. On Sunday we went to Bray and Scarff in Frederick and met with our sales rep, Mohamad. He took the time to show/explain several different models to us. We settled on a model by Cafe. Delivery was scheduled for Tuesday between 12 and 4 pm. Shane and Enon texted us what time they would arrive and were here earlier than anticipated. They worked together as a team while removing the old refrigerator and installing the new one. They were extremely careful not to damage anything. They cleaned up from the install and took extra time to go over the operations. from start to finish I would recommed Bray and Scarff for their excellent products, their professionalism, and care for the customer. The absolute worst! The delivery guys damaged our walls and cracked our drain pan. Refrigerator needed service 4 month after we got it. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS THE WORST!!!! RUDE on the phone and will not tell you when they coming. Had to sit around all day and then they were late. Did not call. Had to order parts...for a new refrigerator that they new had recalled parts. After # weeks never heard from them so I called and got hung up on. Called again and the lady said she had to walk to parts and would call me back within the hour. Of course she never called back. Called again and the lady was extremely rude and would no tell me if they were coming on in the afternoon or morning. BRAY & SCARFF IS THE WORST! After the sale you are on your own! read more

Delivery folks were masked and very professional. It was clear that each person had a job and both worked as a team to get our refrigerator installed and the old one moved to the garage as a backup. Shane and Enon (the delivery/Installers) were very careful with the whole process from start to finish. They even explained some additional setup and flushing that needed to be done before use. As far as sales is concerned, Jamie Seger was super to work with. She satyed on top of the the whole manufacturing issue and let me know of some alternatives that were recently received in the warehouse. We would still be waiting on our original selection if it weren't for Jamie looking out for our desire to replace a failing refrigerartor. read more

I went to the Frederick showroom with some model numbers from their Web site for an ancient range hood I wanted to replace. I told the salesman what I had done, what I was looking for and he showed me one of the model numbers on my list that was on display. It was fine but I asked him about the other makes and models I researched and he said we don't have them on display but I can recommend one that we do have on display. It was attractive and about 30 less than the model we looked at. I bought it and setup a delivery and install date. Everything went fine. Richard showed up when he said he would, installed the new range hood and showed me how to use it. Overall, I had a good experience from start to finish without pressure. read more

We had started our search at one of the local hardware stores and was promptly told that we didn't want what we were looking at. Our salesman, Jake Stone, at B&S was super helpful and knowledgeable. These guys were great. After going through a roundabouts terrible situation with a (a different) manufacturer and service rep, I was about at my wits end and just wanted to replace my appliance. Jake had helped me through each step - he detailed each piece he had in inventory ready to go, and also detailed the process of special ordering an exact replacement. The absolute worst. Delivery guys bitched that they had to go up stairs. We told the sales guy laundry room was on second floor and it was on order. All delivery guys did was to complain and damaged walls. Had no floor covering! Cracked drain pan. Now after 4 month the refrigerator has ice building up on the inside of it. Called service dept. over a week ago. Supposed to be here today between 8am and 12pm. NO SHOW! Bray and Scarff if the worst! Run from these people! read more

My delivery team of Ben, Jeff and Wayne were as good as it gets! What an awesome team. They truly went above & beyond as I had a tricky situation and the install was not easy. Purchased a new dishwasher from Mohammad he couldnt have been more helpful. Professional, courteous, knowledgable, altogether a pleasant experience. Richard was the install technician and honestly if I hadn't opened the door for him I would never have known he was here. Removed my old unit and installed the new in under an hour.
