Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, MY HVAC peoples! Ya know how people are like: Oh, my plumber is the greatest. Or: I have the best contractor. I'll put you in touch. These are now officially "My" HVAC peoples. First off, I had them come out to the house because my tenet was complaining that the AC wasn't reaching the bedroom upstairs. Now... this is a super common problem that a lot of people deal with. And it was a pretty easy solution that made us facepalm - turns out that all of the vents were open in the basement, and precious resources were being wasted. That was easy, but I didn't just bring them out for that. I also wanted to have a smart thermostat installed in the house. The system that the house had made it very confusing, and also impossible to put in a smart thermostat the way that it was wired, and we found that out after Randy took a look at the system. One of the nicest things - he didn't charge me for coming out that day and taking a look at everything. Also solving my problem of the air being pushed to the upstairs. We scheduled the smart thermostat installation for a future date, which required them to run new wiring from the unit upstairs to the downstairs. But it has to be said that while he was over there, he was just as nice as can be. I was over there and we got to chatting, and he was just ... just good peoples. We had to reschedule the smart thermostat installation a time or two because they had emergency calls they had to tend to, and ya know what, that's totally understandable. Installing a smart thermostat SHOULD not take priority over someone who is without air conditioning on a 100 degree day. And it's because of that, they prioritize, that when my furnace all but stopped working last weekend (during a bitterly cold cold day), Ryan was able to come out within 2 hours to look at the system and replace my igniter which was broken. That visit cost $250 dollars which I think was very reasonable. The igniter was REALLY hard to get to - and I just thank G-d that they had the part in their car for my OLD ass HVAC system that was put in in 1995. I know that the system is going to need to be replaced soon, and you can bet your bippy (I think that's what the kids are saying these days) that I'm gonna use Clarksburg Heating and Air to do it. It's a huge job that requires a unit being put on the roof with a crane. And I need someone who I trust to do it. And that is them. Also, I should mention that when I was talking to Ryan about putting in a new system and the financing options - he was very candid about the whole process which I incredibly appreciated. Our home AC (heat pump) quit working and with this current heat wave (above 90F before noon), we needed it fixed and FAST! Ryan came out the same day I contacted them. Pre repair, it was around 88 inside, and rising. I'm writing this review the day after he replaced the capacitor, and I'm actually cold right now, temp is set at a comfy 70 degrees. I also have to mention Lish, I spoke with her over the phone and was so sweet and helpful. All in all, very happy with CHAC. Ryan was in my home for 20 min tops. He inspected and identified the issue and replace the part, it cost just under $200 (less than we anticipated). Oh and an added bonus, He DID arrive within the time slot I was given! Yay! Like one of the prior reviews - I found my permanent HVAC guys. Our electricity bill recently went through the roof with that cold spell a month ago, and now the HVAC is throwing out an error code. The first HVAC guy from another company said it was the filter I change regularly. The error returned a couple of hours after they charged me and left, and I have yet to hear from them again. I waited a couple of weeks, and since the error is still popping up, I decided to call Clarksburg Heating and Air Conditioning and have them take a crack at it. Matt is my technician. He is a man of few words but highly professional and knowledgeable. He was able to determine the cause of the issue promptly. After checking to make sure it was OK with me, they arrived before the window initially given to me. Matt quickly assessed the issue let me know that I would likely have to wait for have heat restored until the morning given he needed to order parts. After finding the parts he needed and confirming with me it would not get in until the next morning, I expressed to the team my concern with having no heat with my baby at home. The team was very understanding to my concern, and made some extra calls to find the needed parts in stock elsewhere. They were back within in hour and quickly had my heat restored. They came and provided me an estimate for replacing the entire AC unit in a condo.The quote seemed reasonable so I told them I agree and want to move forward with it.After that I kept calling them every 2-3 days every time was told that they are waiting on the new system to arrive and should be there soon.After waiting for about 3 weeks I contacted another company that came same day provided me a very close estimate to what Clarksburg provided me and installed the new system the next day (similar system as Clarksburg quoted me).It has been over 1 month since we agreed on the new system they never even once called me back saying they don't have it or are not able to install it or whatever other reason they cant do the job.Very unprofessional and I would strongly advise against using them.If I could I would have given them 0 stars rating. read more

I contacted Clarksburg Heating based on their exceptional reviews on Yelp. Lish was very friendly and responsive and scheduled my spring check up within a few days of my inquiry. Ryan showed up on time and was also very friendly. However, I was surprised that he only spent 2 or 3 minutes looking at my furnace and the unit in my attic. He told me they spend most of their time looking at the outside units in the Spring, and don't look too thoroughly at the heating unit until the fall checkup. He didn't even ask where the thermostats where at and didn't test how the units were functioning. He then went outside to look at the units. After a few minutes, I went outside to see how things were going, and he told me that my heat pump unit must have had an electrical surge as the start capacitor and board where fried. He then showed me a picture on his phone of a fried board. I told him I was still under contract with my old service provider with parts coverage and that I would try to see if I could get them to replace the board and capacitor before that contract expired. He agreed that would be a good idea and said he would send me a quote to replace these parts and the picture of the fried board just in case my old service provider didn't cover the parts. He finally told me he was unable to test the system because he couldn't even get the system to run since the board and capacitor were fried. So I contacted my old service provider who came out the same day to look at the system. The technician spent over an hour in the attic cycling and testing the system. When he came down from the attic, he said the system was heating and cooling without any issues and without the auxiliary power being used. He went outside to look at the exterior unit and found no issues and the system was running perfectly fine an confirmed there were no issues with the board or capacitor. I went with him to observe. As a result, I contact Lish at Clarksburg to share the above and she told me she would get in touch with Ryan to see what he would have to say and she would get back to me. An hour or two later, I received the following text from Lish: "I just talked to Ryan. He said, if it's running and they got it up. That's amazing. Hopefully, it will stay and if you have any issues, feel free to give us a call back. ". Needless to say, I can only conclude that Ryan showed me a stock photo of a fried board, which he never sent to me, and fabricated the story to charge me for an unnecessary repair, which Lish quoted for at $490. I see all of the positive ratings on Yelp for this company, many of them related to offering fair pricing. Although the pricing may be fair, I have to wonder how many of those customers where charged for unnecessary repairs or if they paid for parts that were never replace. Buyers beware. read more

I would HIGHLY recommend this company for any HVAC work you need done at your home. We had them replace one of our AC units that was over 20 years old. They responded immediately when i called to get a quote. They came out within a day and gave us a fair quote within an hour of being at our house. I even called to ask a bunch of questions and they were more than happy to answer all of them. They ordered the part and were able to install the new unit within a week of approving the work to be done. I love that they didn't try to OVERSELL us on a super expensive unit. They gave us two options, and why the recommended one over the other. They installed the unit in 5-6 hours and even tuned up the other unit without charging us extra. Had a really good experience with Clarksburg Heating & Air. I highly recommend them & will use them again. So here's our story we noticed something was wrong with our AC & temperature in our home throughout the week but it wasn't until Friday night we were sure it was broken. I called around early Saturday morning & got all voicemails saying the businesses was closed on the weekend. When I called Clarksburg Heating & Air to my surprise someone picked up. I spoke to Ryan one of the owners & said he could come out between 10-12pm & that he would call me when he's on his way. He told me that because it was an emergency service it would be time & a half, which is what I expected anyway so I said yes np. He then asked that I turn off our unit ahead of time so that when he arrived it wouldn't be frozen & he can take a look at it quicker. When he arrived , he took a look at it & knew exactly what the issue was which was that our capacitor blew out. He replaced it quickly & was very efficient. I thought he also communicated well & provided good customer service. Lastly the price and time & 1/2 he charged was fair. Overall, we're a happy customer from the service they provided & grateful to have the luxury of our AC running again. read more

I'd highly recommend Matt and Clarksburg Heating and Air. Heat pump was at end of it's life. Office called that day & set up for Matt (owner) to come. He answered various questions on whether I could save it, in direct statements. No fluffy sales pitches or pressure (or 'fancy brochure company prices'). If I'd wanted to save it (30-40 year old unit), he would, at a reasonable price (dead fan motor but low old-style freon). His replacement price was 1 up from the lowest but for a better unit. Was quickly available to install, while other places were weeks out, or $1-2000 more. My job was a simple replacement. He ordered the unit, it arrived a few days later and he put it in that day. Clean, no dirt or marks left in my house. During covid, willing to wear masks inside and were vaxed. After that first office call, I communicated by calling him directly, email and text. He responded to all in a reasonable time. I got worried about too good to be true, so I checked with the HVAC gov't dept and he'd been licensed for 20-30 years. Outside unit was slightly tilted by 1 degree. When I asked a few months later, he came out with no complaint and in short time, leveled it. They moved it away from the house compared to the prior unit. Spot was sensible and pretty much only place it could be, but they hadn't asked. So if you have preferences on where the unit will be, best to figure out the new size (they're much bigger) and decide in advance. Installed with easy access to the drain hose, and cleared out the "house" part of the hose to the outside. For maintenance all I need do is unscrew the hose and can clean it! My old hose was installed without a way to open, and that was a big bother. Got the name someplace between yelp & googling. Called at least 7 places. Wound up circling back to the first place I called! This review was written 8 months after install. It's been operating through summer, fall, and winter. read more

I am reluctant to post this because they are the best kept secret, but I want to do the right thing and let people know how awesome they are. Our AC was out this past week and I called on Sunday not expecting to get anyone, but someone answered and I think it was the owner. He said they were very busy during the week, but said he would squeeze me in the next day. I couldn't believe it because we were miserable without AC and I was so appreciative. Matt the service technician came out and he quickly assessed it was the motor on the outside fan. He said he would have to come back the next day because he had to go pick up the motor, but he also had other jobs to complete that day. Right before he left he came back up to my front door and said he spoke to his boss and they rearranged some other appointments which meant Matt was free to go pick up the motor that day and came back and fixed it. I had another company that I used a couple of times, Parker Pierce check out my system and each time they pushed an entire new system and tried to get me to sign up for one of their plans that meant I paid for the unit in a way that felt like I was going to "lease" the new system. Felt sketchy to me and didn't feel like they cared or had my best interest in mind and were really all about selling me things I didn't need. I didn't tell Matt about Parker Pierce, but asked him when he was finished what he thought of my entire system and he said it was fine. Yes, it's kind of old, but with the new motor and a little Freon, I should be totally fine. I can't say enough about Clarksburg Heating and AC. They were great the entire step of the way. They were professional, knowledgeable, fair, honest, and all around great. I hope they always stay this way because its rare in these times. Back in July, on the hottest day of the year, I returned home from working a midnight shift, at 6:30 AM on a Sunday, to find that it was 87 degrees inside. I had never really used Yelp before, but used it this time in order to post my problem online and let multiple businesses from local HVAC providers reach out to me about the problem. I can't stress enough how useful Yelp was in giving us this feature; especially in my case where most businesses were closed. Clarksburg Heating and A/C was one of the first to respond back within 30 minutes of my post. Out of all of the providers that contacted me back, Clarksburg was the only company to send me more than just a quote. Ryan told me exactly what he thought the problem likely was and even explained that he couldn't guarantee that they had the parts on hand for every issue; that he may have to come back a second time. He wanted to warn me of the extra costs of a weekend call out and two visits. It is rare that a company gives you a heads up about a way for the customer to save money versus padding their own account. Ryan and an assistant responded to my home within an hour, immediately identified the issue, and had my unit back up and running within 30 minutes. The bill was more than fair for a Sunday early morning call out and I will certainly be a Clarksburg Heating and A/C customer for life! Our furnace started acting up and we found a leak near the pump. We phoned several locations, Clarksburg Hearing and Air returned our call and asked us to explain what we saw. They came out assessed the damage and found the cause of the problem, fix it, cleaned up and gave us a good price on a new unit, pump and patch job where the old humidifier was. I just purchased a home in Frederick which has a pretty old HVAC system. Scheduling a general service call was so easy and was flexible based on my timeframe needs. The guys came right at the time we agreed upon plus were so mindful by putting on shoe protectors so not to track in the outdoors into my home. They explained how to replace the filter and gave me suggestion on what type to buy in the future. I peppered them with questions as to the system and they graciously answered each one. Each step of the service they explained what they were doing and what I was looking at. Having zero experience with HVAC it was a welcome discussion so I felt more aware of what the system does and how it works. Mathew Rabon, one of the owners, came on a day that fit my schedule. Mathew did his inspection and concluded that I needed a new outside unit and new coils for the inside. Mathew emailed me a quote that was in my budget and I decided to make the appointment. Mathew and two other gentlemen came out at the time they said they would be. The work took about 2-3 hours. They replaced the unit, removed the old unit, got rid of all the trash as well. I think they removed some trash that was created by me which I appreciated. Such a professional job at a price that was perfect. House is cool, family is happy. I highly recommend them for all of your heating and cooling needs.
