I unfortunately did not love my spray tan from Brazil Bronze Soho, which was surprising since I've heard such great things. It sounds like they've moved since I went in January (thank god) but my experience finding the actual unit inside the building was horrifying. The building itself was/is like about to be demolished so it is crumbling inside and genuinely scared me. When I finally found the studio I was so relieved I wasn't sure I was making it out alive. The tan experience was fine, it's a no frills place and I was expecting it to be a bit nicer given the price (~$72). They're fast and you're basically in and out. I found my tan developed fast and I followed their protocol to a T afterwards to get the best tan outcome I could. The tan came out kind of streaky and uneven, which I could only chalk up to applier error. It looked like she was very heavy handed higher on my arms and then got lighter handed further down. My biggest complaint is the SMELL. I literally stunk like chemicals and BO from this tan. Idk if it was just my skin reacting to it or what but no amount of showering or good smelling soap/perfume made it go away. Wouldn't go back unfortunately. read more

I walked in and was seen within 5 minutes, stripped down and explained what I wanted lighter on the face and a bit darker on the bottom. I first discovered BRAZIL BRONZE SOHO by accident. I was in school and I saw a friend I hadn't seen over the long weekend. When I saw her she had a glowy fresh tan. I asked her immediately whether she flew to Florida or LA over the weekend. She shook her head and smiled. "Spray tan" she said. No way! Her tan was way too authentic to be a spray tan. She told me the name of the place. Graduation was around the corner, so I booked my appointment. When I arrived, I was nervous. I had only gotten a spray tan once before, and I came out looking like an Oompa Loompa and was constantly compared to the color of an orange by my friends for 2 weeks. And any other friend that had gotten a spray tan, (beside the one that recommended this place) LOOKED like they got a spray tan. I went in the receptionist greeted me with a smile. I told her my name and she nodded and told me to have a seat for a few minutes. She then brought water over to me-- by the time I finished my cup they called me in. The young woman showed me the color chart and asked me how dark I wanted to go. I have fair skin and I didn't just come back from a week on a tropical island, so I figured the lightest one would be perfect. She agreed. I changed out of my clothes and into a cloth thong (there's an option to go completely nude, but I wanted to have a tan line!) She came in and explained the process to me. I felt very comfortable and understood everything that was going on. Any question I had was answered without hesitation. The spray tanning part took 10 minutes (max) and the drying part in the next room over took 10 minutes. My tan was obvious and I was excited! The tan takes a few hours to fully develop, so I wasn't as dark as I hoped to be when I left (albeit I was I was no longer a see-through ghost!) They recommend you come in what you're going to wear to sleep, and they also recommend to not shower or sweat for 12 hours. I followed both of those rules! When I woke up I was DARK. Like very dark. I was told that when I shower, there will be brown dripping off of me and when I get out it will reveal my real tan. Boy was I HAPPY. I didn't look like a generic spray tan! I looked REAL TAN!!! I almost couldn't believe how real it looked. Even my friends who I told I was getting a spray tan to were shocked when they saw me on graduation day. Since they moved to new location on Wooster, each time I go, the attendant is too busy to buzz you into building, so you have to wait outside over 5 minutes to go upstairs to a queue of customers waiting, going over 20 minutes past your scheduled time. The attendant did an uneven tan and did not have hair nets available, so she got product in my hair when spraying back. I emailed customer service to be completely ignored. I have been a customer since 2006. The service has gone dramatically downhill. Good thing there are many competitors since they opened in 2006, that I will now be spending my money. read more

Brazil Bronze Soho is the best! I have gone several times for the Original Luxury Spray Tan and each time I have had a super positive experience. I originally bought a Groupon and loved it so much that I purchased a package of 10 which was a steal and go weekly now. Everyone is friendly and service-oriented. As far as the tan, I was nervous about streaking or a weird color and it came out as great as I could have hoped for --even and completely natural looking. You have the option of going as light or as dark as you want. Both colors are very natural and give my skin a healthy glow! Regarding the session: They provide hair elastics & shower caps. Every technician is super friendly and will work with you to determine what you need - asking questions about color desired, explaining how to care for the tan and tips on what to do/ not to do & giving you sufficient time to dry. They also carry products to care for and extend the tan. There were no awkward moments and it was done so quickly and with such efficiency that I was surprised as to how little time it took.
