I'm selling my home so I knew my hardwood floors needed to be refinished . I called a couple companies and chose this company because their pricing was lower than the others. I explained to the owner that I'd need some assistance moving furniture. , Two men showed up on the agreed date and quickly moved my heavy 4 piece bedroom set into my dining room. They then started covering closets and my kitchen area with plastic. Then the fun began. Day one they sanded all rooms and put a coat of sealer. They returned the next day for the first coat of polyurethane. The smell was quite strong but I expected this. That is why I made sure that my parrot and my two dogs would be able to stay elsewhere for a few days. Opening all windows was a big help. They came the third day for another coat. The floors turned out so beautiful!! The next day a gentleman showed up to collect the second half of the payment. When I told him I was very pleased but that I still needed someone to help me move the furniture back, he said no problem, someone would come the next day. And they did. They moved my furniture back free of charge. Even though this company is based out of Connecticut, they also service Massachusetts and Rhode Island which is where I am from. I'd like conclude that if you need your floors refinished, do not hesitate to call them. Their work is beautiful and their customer service was excellent. Both stars are related to the accurate wood match and tone to our existing flooring. Final flooring looks great from afar, but we do have spots of missing poly coating and other areas of texture in the poly. Issues with communication were consistent throughout including no call no show for initial estimate meeting, arriving over an hour late on the first day of install with no call for update, and timeline being extended twice in two days without any communication. In fact the crew let themself into our house 2 days after the project was meant to be finished and we only knew because of camera notifications in our home. Miscommunication between crew and the office as well some telling us the job was finished and we could return home, when in fact they had just applied a new coat of poly and we could not enter the home that day at all. read more

First off, you can't actually speak to anyone that makes any sense there Second, their job is shoddy. Super poor quality. Had an issue with my floor squeaking (that they installed), had other real contractors say the job was poor and they didn't glue it correctly. They came back to correct the issue and left nails raised in the floorboard. Not only did we need to buy more product they screwed up on, I needed a tetanus shot. Worst experience ever. Literally worst small business I've ever dealt with. The floors looked great, but they were squeaky as hell. Got two opinions from other contractors and was told they did not use enough glue. After weeks of going back and forth with Bruna ("customer service" in the home office) they finally came by to "fix" the problem. They got rid of the squeaks, but left a nail sticking out! An urgent care visit and tetanus shot later, all Helio "owner" says is send me the bill and I'll send a guy to fix this problem. It shouldn't take three visits to get great floors. Lesson learned, going with my gut instinct next time. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. I discovered Brazil flooring after I entered into a contract with Premier flooring who priced the job and got our business. Just a comment about Premier. Two guys who take measurements of work to be done. They charge you a fee, which is dbl the price of Brazil flooring's prices. Then they subcontract with Brazil who does the work. When Premier/Brazil was to start the work they were not on time and or didn't show or call. When they did finally show I sent them away. A short while later, Brazil flooring called to say you're "sending my guys away." I told caller "I didn't know him from a can of paint." Thereafter, I entered contract with Brazil for half the price Premier was charging. I was thrilled. Brazil does excellent work if you can communicate with them. And at times there was a disconnect from the neck up. The workers, for the most part are hard working, but they do not speak English. They speak Portuguese or Spanish. They started project and then they were either late or no shows. I held back the last payment because they had to do something over and something they missed. I last spoke with them over two weeks ago. They said they'd call and arrange to come finish the work. I have not heard from them since. Run!!!!! This unprofessional company should not even have a license to do hardwood floors. We bought a spec home and the builder hired Brazil Floors to install & stain white oak floors. They botched them. So many problems- tons of exposed nails that they didn't even bother to fill. When & where they did fill the nail holes it was the wrong color filler. They applied the topcoat on the floors even though there were blemishes, dust, stains, shoe marks and scratches all over the floors. We fought with the builder and he had Brazil Floors come back in to try to fix & repair an few areas. We tried to have the builder hire someone else, but he already paid Brazil Floors. They must've been the cheapest bid. Floors boards were not glued down properly & creak. One area in front of our kitchen slider the boards completely cracked. Dust was everywhere!!! The repair work was horrible & only made the floors look worse. They sanded off the pickled oak stain so the floor was left blotchy & uneven. They tried to repair damaged boards they left them looking worse. They are criminals & shouldn't be hired by anyone. The worst company I have ever dealt with period. Unfortunately I have to take these clowns to court to get my money back for the floors and the money to have the entire trim repainted. They are messy. They don't clean the floors before they put down the polyurethane. I literally have a layer of saw dust and dirt underneath the Polly. You can see all the swirling marks from their sanders. Absolutely horrible customer service. If you want quality don't hire this company you will be in the same position as I am in. I requested a quote to refinish my hardwood floor, they schedule me for Friday between 5 PM and 6 PM but they never showed up and never called me to explain why they did not show up. I called on Saturday and they told me they did not know what happen but my name was on the schedule. They offer another appointment on Saturday between 5 PM and 6 PM and I asked them to call if they will not be able to make it. They did not show up and did not call. Over the past five years I've used Brazil Floors at least six times. I'm a general contractor in Massachusetts and I have chosen not to do my own floors anymore because of the where in tear on my body. I have had them do vinyl plank, pre-engineered wood, and hardwood with Polly, every time they have exceeded my expectations. In my case I always supply my own materials and I have it on site for them when they arrive. They're always on time and polite. Most of the jobs I do are empty spaces, but when I did last year, there was a number of heavy furniture items that needed to be shuffled around so they could do their floors and they did it without any complaints The most recent installation was last week it was in Ashfield Massachusetts the installer told me it took him two hours to get there, but they were on time. The installation was about 1000 ft.² of vinyl plank. He told me they should wrap up around 230 when I return to the job they were cleaning up and it looked great. But most important my customer was thrilled. In the past I've tried the box stores for their installations. Each time I ran into problems just not worth it. read more

I was looking for a competitively priced company to come and refinish the hardwood floors in one of my rental units. At the recommendation of a realtor friend of mine who uses them for flip projects, I called Brazil. Getting them to come out for an estimate was a bit difficult at first, but that's understandable seeing that everyone is so busy these days. But they did come out when they said, gave me a very fair price, and showed up to do the work when they said, and I was very happy with the end results. They sanded and did three coats of poly, and it looks great! I was surprised to see a lot of the negative reviews on here, but glancing quickly, it appears that most of those reviews are on floor installation. I can't speak to that, as I only had them refinish an existing hardwood floor, but again, I was very pleased with that and would call them again for any similar projects. read more

I decided to hire Brazil floors because they had a reasonable price and because I am from Brazil, and want to give them my business, what a mistake. At first, they delivered the wrong wood flooring and I didn't notice until it was installed. My husband called to talk to Helio (the owner), and he couldn't be more unprofessional and arrogant! He even asked if I didn't know how to read because I should have looked at the invoice from the company that delivered the wood floors (lesson learned). My house is new construction and I regret terribly for the choice that I made to hire them. The floor is buckled and looks like was never finished. DON'T EVEN Think about hiring them!!! Brazil Floors is an AWFUL business. They do NOT take responsibility for their work. To start, they cancelled their first install date and notified us on the scheduled day of install after they were supposed to arrive. On the next scheduled 8:00 AM install date they called and said they would be there late, and would arrive at 11:00 AM with their crew! Their so called crew (ONE young man around 22 years old) arrived at after 12:30. I will say the boy worked his tail off for 6 straight hour but he also appeared to be in a rush to get the job done! Most importantly the installer put a nail through a heating pipe which was verified by our plumber. The pipe was clearly visible from the floor as it was the pipe to the heating unit it self. The manager, Bruna, after giving us the runaround for a week and putting us on hold SEVERAL times she stated that it wasn't the installers fault and or responsibility because we didn't tell him about the pipe!!! They did send a Project manager who agreed with us but who's English was limited. Bruna basically LIED to us about the Project Managers assessment. To add insult to injury, this company has NO problem keeping you on hold for 20 minutes. If I could give them 0 stars I would. read more

Guys showed up early, wearing masks, and got to work immediately. They removed the old carpet, inspected subfloor and fixed few issues, installed new bamboo floors while managing to make seamless connection to existing, previously installed floors. Finally, they installed base moldings, cleaned up the work site without leaving any debris or garbage behind. We are very happy with the new floors. I have NEVER EVER written a review anywhere, on any site, ever, but am so dissatisfied with the work Brazil Wood Floors did that I feel it's my obligation to warn everyone who is considering hiring this company. Price was the major consideration for me when choosing this company. I ignored the reviews and thought I could 'manage' my downside risk because I have renovation experience. How hard can it be to install, sand, stain and coat hardwood floors, right? Turns out that it's extremely difficult when you're dealing with a company that doesn't really know the right way to do it and have been practicing the wrong way year after year. Throw in a lack of professional pride and poor customer service and you have a recipe for disaster - disaster for YOU. Here is a short list of things that went wrong...the things that created delays, headaches, arguments, disappointment and most importantly, a significant amount of extra costs...money that I thought I'd be saving by working with Brazil Wood Floors: *Short boards. They installed boards that are 2 feet long throughout the house. There are a lot seams and it looks HORRIBLE. Who uses 2 foot boards? It looks like they brought all of the scrap pieces from other jobs. * Poor sanding skills, especially scoring marks into newly installed baseboards. If you don't understand the significance of this, it means that you'll now have to deal with (AND PAY!) an angry painter who has to fill in, sand, reprime, and paint the perfect baseboard that Brazil Wood Floors just ruined. It's extremely difficult to fix the baseboard in a way which allows your painters to get a perfect cut line, so now you'll have to live with the added disappointments looking at a subpar paint line. * The staining was uneven. * They didn't light sand in between finish coats, which left white marks in the seams in between the boards. * The mess was beyond what I could have imagined! No vacuum/filtration type of equipment. They just come on in, don't cover anything, grip it and rip it. For anyone who hasn't installed/refinished floors before, this process makes a mess that you'll be cleaning for a year if not properly contained. Also a mess from wiping dirty hands on white walls and stain on the recently ruined baseboard. It's shocking that a company that does this for a living and has these types of standard business practices is still in business. Not everyone was terrible to deal with. Paulo and the woman answering the phones had the most promise when it comes to customer service but they're on the wrong team. Their skills would be better served with a company that actually cared about the work performed. In the end, choosing this company, and the horrific experience and additional costs that came with it, was my fault. I should've known better. A cheap price does not equal low cost. And now I have a terrible experience along with floors I have to cover with rugs as the end result. In full disclosure, I am a bit of a nut when it comes to doing a job right. I have high standards and believe that you should be the best at what you're in business to do. At least be striving to be the best. If you have any level of standards when it comes to a job well done for money well spent, make it your mission to find the company who shares the same philosophy. It took me 30 minutes to write this. 30 minutes I don't really have to be writing a review. I could add more but think this captures most of it. Amanda who works in their office is a really nice person with a good heart and looks out for the clients needs. They are a little disorganized in terms of scheduling and definitely can use a bit of improvement in that regard. The workers are extremely proficient and all of them ensured to do a great job. This is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. Very unprofessional, and they do horrible work. I made them start over with my floors. I moved out for 19 days for the whole ordeal. The floors still have all kinds of problems, but I do not want them back in my house. They did not put up plastic properly and so the sanding dust is all over my house. Then the plastic that they did put up was left up too long and the sanding dust on it fell onto the floor, into the poly!!! We hired this company in November of 2016 to sand and refinish our wood flooring. After completing the work the first time, the poly on the floor began to come off and leave us with spots all over the three rooms they did. After contacting the owner he advised us he would send his crew back out to "fix" the problem. He never came out to see the work himself. In January of 2017 they retured to our house and did the work again. We once again found some place to live for 4 days and incured additional cost for the second time. Upon arriving home after 4 days, we found the floors in worse condition than before. It appears they just ran a sander over the middle of the floors and the spots, then added another coat of poly. What this left was definitieve lines around the edges. Once again the floors were not propoerly re-finished. We contacted the owner again and he stated that he would send them back, but once again did not offer to come out and look at the floors. We advised him that we were not happy, did not want to incure the cost of moving out again, and just wanted our money back so we could hire a better company. He stated that they did not do that could not give our money back. I would not recommmend this compnay to anyone. read more

Be careful of these guys. Their prices are cheap but so is the finished product. They will do the absolute minimum that they figure they can get away without you knowing about. There were some gaps in my wood floor that I asked them to fill in before refinishing and they only took care of 30% of it. The sanders they use do not collect dust and neither do they. After they are done be prepared to hire a cleaning service. They are not careful with the baseboards either. Urethane and stain everywhere. They also advertise 3 coats of urethane. They only do 2. I have video set up on the building so I was able to watch and see this. They tried to lie to me saying they did 3 coats and were very insistent about it despite the proof I had. I finally convinced them to do the third. The first coat isn't even urethane. Its a floor sealer called seal-krete which is fine but it doesn't make up for 2 coats of urethane. I was also suspicious of the cans they used which looked old. I thought they might be thinning out the urethane with paint thinner to stretch the product. read more
