The greens where excellent....great bargin with special....good course to get in 9 holes in two hours....lady a front desk did a great job.

This is a great beginner course with two Par 4s at about 330 yds. However bring a good amount of balls as quite a few will end up in the creek. I do believe that they need to manage their Tee Boxes a little bit better. Very hard to find a good spot with no divots. Other than that, definitely recommend to the beginner golfers. read more

I love golfing here cause it's literally blocks away from my house. The course is awesome cause you get to use your drivers at least twice and it's not draining like a full 18 holes course. I have gotten my friends and co-workers to come at least one a week and I just bought a membership last week. Today, was a fubar day cause I had my golf buddies not show up and some really late, so I asked Nathan the operation manager do I have to pay for four if only two showed with absolute disgust on his face and voice and body language, he says well there is only two of you and refunded me for the two. I was thankful and very sorry for the inconvenience this caused him, and I get the disarray it causes when people are late to the tee off and I let my friend that was not cool. I was gonna tee-off without him but Nathan decides he wanted to lambast me in front of other players on how my golf buddies are not here yet and I am at the first hole without telling him and that I shouldn't be there and I should come back up until my friend gets there. My parents do not disrespect me like that. Instead of enjoying my day off and golfing with friends, I get upset and go to have a talk with him on how that was very disrespectful and other golfers on the field was saying what the h*ll was that. Nathan did not care an ounce and just gave me an earful of how hard his job is when people like me don't listen. First time ever this happened and he treated me like a 5 year old that always messes up. Bit of advice, keep your cool cause I am a paying customer who just got a membership to play more frequently with friends that started to like this course and come regularly but now I don't care if I lose the membership fee cause just bitter taste makes golf unpleasant. Be more empathic and understanding as a manager and problems get resolved but bad attitudes stay lingering like bad OB. P.S. if he told me I had to pay I would have cause it was my bad, but Nathan chose a nasty route because he lost $48 but not thinking about all the money I would have spent on lessons and playing and range practices. Thank you Nathan for ruining my favorite place and now I have to change course to Fullerton. I wish I video tape the exchanges with him. read more

I always enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at Brea Creek. It's nice to be able to get out and casually play nine holes and then be off to work.

This is a fun 9 hole executive course wIth some challenging hole layouts. Greens are in great shape. I would suggest getting a Marshall out on the course once in awhile to keep pace of play moving. read more

Very impress with this course! Nice elevation changes and mint fairways and greens. Our threesome completed in about 1:30. Will definitely come back to play. No chipping green but there's a range and nice putting practice area. Staff very friendly on 12/15. I left behind my hoodie and Justin at pro desk said he'll put my name on it. Carts were a little slow but they made it up big hills without issues. Downtown Brea next to course was very nice and clean as well. read more

Nice inexpensive 9 hole golf course. Been coming here for 10 years maybe? The creek adds a nice touch of scenery. Some easy holes, some moderately challenging holes. You get to break out the 1-Wood on 2 holes. The greens are pristine (except when they aerate them). I notice a lot of negative comments on the staff. Meh! I'm here to golf not to get pampered. My biggest beef here is with the pace of play! I've noticed groups of more than 4 playing together, players hitting more than 1 golf ball (usually bros) or my favorite ... kids barely older than a toddler taking forever as they painfully nickel & dime the ball all the way to the cup. I personally think the tee times need to be spread out more but I also get it's a business and the owner is in business to make a profit and not to break even. Bottom line I definitely recommend this budget course, I just wish the play was more consistent with less back-ups and delays. Cheers read more

Sexist much? My friend and I are first time golfers and our husbands brought us here last weekend. We knew what to expect in terms of the course: cheap and crowded, and that's what we got. What we didn't expect was the blatant sexism from the starter. We waited well over thirty minutes in line past our tee time. The group in front of us was a foursome of guys that could not hit the ball more than a few yards at a time. Two of them teed off and completely missed the ball and had to try again. They took about 10 strokes on the first hole. Our group was next. My friend took several practice swings then hit the ball a decent distance. I was next and landed slightly behind her. As we were on our way out to our balls the starter yelled out, "Hey guys! The girls are going to play best ball, right?" Our husbands nodded and told us that I would have to move my ball up next to my friend's. They explained that they didn't want us to hold up the game. I was pretty livid. Nothing was said to the guys in front of us who did far worse than we did. We were called out purely because we were girls. Ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that the group in front of us held us up the entire game. read more

Brea Creek is a great course for the value. I pay $25 per month for the Player Development Program which gives you discounted rates after 1pm and free range buckets. For 2 people, the price was $16 with a cart. So for $16 bucks I think the course is great. 7 Par 3s and 2 par 4s. If you're a good golfer you can handicap yourself by only bringing a few clubs. It can get backed up due to congestion or because the people in front of you are slow, but again its $16 bucks. Most of the other golfers are really friendly irrespective of skill level. All in all, great course for the price and welcome atmosphere for beginners. read more

Its a 3 star but I cant hate on a course trying to give the masses a well priced golf experience in pricey OC. DO NOT COME ON THE WEEKENDS. You will be miserable and sorry. They pile people on like armageddon is approaching and Brea Creek is your last shot to golf. If you can play on the week days, its actually a super fun par 3. The greens are actually challenging, and pretty well kept, the fairways are nice in the summer, and the variety of the course is stellar. And for $7-12 who could complain anyways? read more

Reserved a tee time online and when I checked in, I still had to wait behind 4 groups on the 1st tee. On top of that, I was playing behind a group of thugs that looked like they were just killin time before they had to go steal their next car. Nobody knew what the hell they were doing, there was absolutely NO enforcement of course rules or flow of play, and the tee boxes were all screwed up. To sum it up, it was the biggest waste of $13 I've ever paid and the short 9 holes took 3 and a half hours of my life that I'll never get back. Well priced, done in 2 hours, traffic isn't bad, greens are beautiful and well kept up.

I'm not critical of this course because of the course itself. It's a cool layout (I read somewhere that the course was designed by the man who designed Torrey Pines!) that requires you to play three shots over Brea Creek and has two "grip it and rip it" drivable par 4's. The course has challenging greens and is (typically) a quick sub-2 hour round. My criticism lies with the apathetic course staff and the terrible clientele that I've been paired with on more than one occasion. I've run into more people there with more beer in their golf bag than clubs, toking on their blunt while stumbling down the fairways. When you inform the management about the morons that they paired you with they offer no apologies and seemingly could care less. Obviously, it's a muni 9 hole that will attract all types, but I certainly would think twice about bringing a child here to play, especially if you're to be paired up. Also, the range is subpar and should be avoided, especially if you like your golf clubs and don't wish to destroy them on the range balls that make Top Flites look like Pro-V1's! Bottom Line: Fun little 9 holes screwed up by the staff and clientele. Watch your kids there, some of the people that play there can probably be found on the Megan's Law hit list.... read more

My friend and I came to play here because it's A) cheap, B) it's close, C) we're beginners and D) we didn't want to spend all day golfing (shopping beckons!). We had a good time and 9 holes was the perfect amount. I booked a tee time online, but there was a long line at the first hole. I also requested a cart, but there were none available when we arrived! Those were some annoyances, but in the end, I guess we got more exercise walking. The guy at the pro shop also gave us free tokens for the driving range which was nice of him.The course wasn't too challenging, although we both lost a ball or two trying to cross the creek. I would come back to play sometime. It sounds like we were pretty lucky in that we were paired with 2 nice guys. It's nice here because it's casual, but at the same time, do I really need to see a 250 lb guy playing golf in a tank top? Hmmm.... read more

We play this golf course on a weekly bases (Saturday mornings), which seems to be the best time to play. The course has been well maintained since the past few years when it seemed like a dried up desert. The difficulty of this course is not that bad on some holes and the only challenge is the creek that runs through the hole course. Granted if you have a slip up, then prepare to hit another or find the drop zone. Green fees vary time to time or so it seems? One morning I find paying $10 per person and other times $14 per person (walking). Driving range is set up wide open and the putting area has plenty of slopes to test your skills and warm you up. They do also have a lunch special with food and drinks I believe. read more

3 stars = 1 for the price, 2 for the convenience and 3 for a good twilight round. Let's face it, you really can't beat paying $10 to play 9 holes, no matter where you are. The course is fairly maintained although the greens can tend to be a little rough. There are a few water holes which can be a fun challenge. The staff is standard golf course pro shop personality - what one would expect I guess. The main issue we run into is over-booking. There is always multiple golfers waiting to tee off at the first hole which gets annoying. This is a good place to come on a weekday afternoon after work to play a quick round and drink a few beers. read more

I'm an avid golfer and I have to say that for what it's worth, this place isn't all that bad. Granted it plays a bit slower I'd like, but with all the juniors playing, you just have to understand. If you want to make it a bit challenging, play the track with only 3 clubs...makes for a fun shot making day. Gotta have some perspective in playing here. It's an OK course. Good price and makes it affordable for me to take my little ones out frequently to practice. The greens are a bit too challenging for my liking. Some that slope a little too much. I don't mind fast greens, but these slope a lot and make it difficult for a good golfer to 2-putt sometimes. I agree with a lot of the posts here. I've taken my children out to play, where my 6 & 8 year olds have landed their balls on the greens, the adults are hitting theirs into other fairways, the creek or trees. We've played behind people who didn't carry their clubs in a bag, shared their clubs, had only 1 ball so hunted for it in the creek & rough, etc. With that said, it's a popular course for beginners and just the reason why I bring my children there. So, where else are new (adult) golfers going to go? But, it would help if course staff would make an effort to make sure rules of etiquette are being followed to move pace of play along. read more

Great course for beginners as 7 of the 9 holes are in the 100 yards range and are Par 3's, while the other 2 are more like your typical golf courses and are barely 300 and Par 4. I don't know how the course is normally as I golfed at 6:08 and only a couple people out by that time on a Sunday. Although as I finished, there was a long line of groups waiting to tee off. But at the same time, it took us less just under 2 hours to finish, I'm going to guess it take roughly 3 hours to get through a round during the normal weekend hours as its a waiting game for the party in front of you, and its not like your typical golf course where you can drive and wait for them to putt, you actually have to wait for them to hit, walk to their ball and then hit and then walk to their ball and eventually putt. All in all, I'd say its a great place to get 9 holes in as the course is very well maintained and compares to the nicer courses out there. But if you're more experienced, its probably not worth the $14 as the course etiquette isn't quite there as its mostly newbie golfers (well at least from the majority of the groups I saw playing) But all in all, still giving it a 4 out of 5 as the course is in great shape, price is good and if I was bringing someone who has either never played or just starting to play I'd highly recommend this place, you'll just need patience as it will take some time to get through the 9 holes. read more

This course is ok some of the holes are intimidating due to the creek that splits down the middle... But the range is horrible ..the markers don't have distances on them or show the color to distance and my biggest problem with this course is the greed of the owners who allow to overbook on the weekend I played this Sunday and it took me 3 hours to finish and you lose your momentum and end up shooting a bad score ..my advice don't come here on Sunday ... 16 dollars to play c'mon Rip off! read more

Not a bad place to play for the price. For a 9 hole, par 3 course, it is pretty challenging. The course is maintained pretty well. The driving range is pretty boring though. It's difficult to dial in the distance you are hitting a particular club since they don't have distance markers. read more
