Although Justin had provided a warranty on the work, he then refused to complete the missing work without additional payment. We came into a dispute of the work with Brea Roofing. Although we have done business with Brea Roofing for many years, we found the son, Justin, does not understand customer service like his father. We are in Placentia and I got four quotes for our roof to be replaced. We chose Brea Roofing after talking with Justin while he was here and he seemed to give us more info about the process than the other companies. Be aware that your quoted roof price does not include things like wood repair if needed after tearing off the old shingles. Brea Roofing gave us cost per foot in their very simple and easy to understand quote if wood needs to be replaced. Some companies didn't talk much about it and when reading their quoted price paperwork, the cost of wood replacement was considerably more per linear foot than Brea. Don't get hung up on that initial quoted price because I would bet most roofs always need wood repair. PERMITS - Brea Roofing included city permits in their quoted price. The other companies put in fine print that customer pays that cost which can be expensive depending on the city so be aware. Also of note we didn't pay Brea Roofing a dime until roof was complete and passed city inspection. NO UPFRONT MONEY needed for them when the others wanted money before even starting. THE ROOF - Brea Roofing was on time and on schedule they gave us which was Monday to Thursday from start to finish. Everyday the crew cleaned up our yard nicely when finished for that day. there are hanging wires dangling after they finished their work. they also didn't connect the roof to our patio, so now water runs down on us when we walk outside into our patio. also they left an unbelievable amount of trash. we've asked them to collect it (there are giant black tarps that don't fit in our bin) and they won't. awful company. read more

Brea Roofing has taken great care of my property for many years now. We own a couple of industrial building with about 37,000 sq. ft. of roof. In 2016 Brea roofing did some repairs and applied an elastomeric white roof coating. They provided a competitive price and did a great job. Now, 5 years later, tenants, HVAC repairs and utility companies have poked holes in the roof. Brea Roofing came out cleaned up all the debris and patch all the holes for a nominal fee. They also did some free warranty work to reinforce the drains and other areas. I was surprised on what they did for so little cost. Their showroom gives you an excellent idea of what your new roof will look like. Barbra, Dan's wife, still works at the front desk and can answer all your questions you may have. This family owned/operated company makes it feel like you're having a friend put your roof on; rather than just some random roofing company. Another huge reason to choose Brea Roofing is that every worker is insured and covered under Workman's Comp. Other companies will register one or two workers (out of 15) under worker's comp, and say they're "insured". That's a great way to get sued.. Justin has been my roofer, but now is a liar and undependable. I am 81 years old in a 2 story house with tiles around the outer perimeter of the roof. In one of the recent heavy wind and rain storms, the uppermost tile on the corner of the roof slid down a couple of inches and dislodged the cement-like seal at the top resulting in interior water damage. I had Justin visit the site. On 3, yes 3, ensuing telephone conversations since, he personally told me he was examining schedules that day and would call me back to advise when he could fix my problem. This is admittedly a small job, yet on every occasion he failed to call me as promised and failed to communicate with me in any way. On the last call, he promised to call me that week to let me know when he could fix it "next week". Obviously, there has been no action by Justin or Brea Roofing to do as he said he would do.Possible customers should judge for themselves if this is a person to try to do business with. read more

The whole staff was very rude especially the roofer justin. He quoted me $1000 and I ended up paying $3250!! Not only was I extremely overcharged, but they took months to finish the job and my roof started to leak when it rained. We had to keep reminding them that we needed them to do the work. Brea Roofing replaced our roof but had to ask and ask for them to reinstall ALL the lines attached to the underside of the roof they left hanging for 3 Months, I.E, Phone line, Cable TV lines left hanging around the entire exterior of our home Including the Power to the house! We have young kids and that's scary! After sending the third truck this last guy finally figure out how to rehang all the cables Brea Roofing Removed when replacing our roof but it took Call After Call After Call to get solution to this ONE issue. Doesn't All This Sound Fun, ..FUN, ....FUN!!??? They also replaced our skylights. One of the three Skylights had a manufactures defect and they replaced it within a month but installed the skylight with a 3 inch scratch. Advised the roofer Justin and also called and left a message for management to return my call about the scratch and Justin Never returned our call. Sorry for the long post, but something needed to be said. If anyone is looking for a roofing company my I suggest you NOT use Brea Roofing.  If you want a good, honest roofing company I suggest using OC Roofing.  We were quoted $750 for the repair  of 30-40 broken roof tiles.  We were also told that work would start in early May.  The job was done in about 2 hours and it was finally completed the last week of July.  We had to keep reminding them that we needed them to do the work.  Why I stuck with this company I'll never fully understand,  but it did turn out to be a huge mistake.  After receiving several quotes, we went with Brea Roofing because they were a small, family owned business and were well received in the community.  I'm not sure if they're always this dishonest or if they're trying to recover from this pandemic by scamming customers, but I feel sick having been taken advantage of in this way.  My complaint is that they quoted us $750 to repair 30-40 roof tiles,  but once they finished the job they charged us over $1500.  They claimed that the quote stated that the $750 was only for "roof maintenance" and 5 tiles.   I have text messages that stated that they were replacing 30-40 roof tiles and that was the quoted price.  We were given a quote from another roofer, OC Roofing Company,  that stated we had 70 broken roof tiles and the charge would be $1800 to fix the tiles.   So basically,  we ended up paying over $1500 for half the work. Bait and switch is a really crummy way of doing business. When I voiced my displeasure they acted as if nothing was wrong with that way of doing business and kept saying that they have been in business for over 34 years and my tiny little issue was of no concern to them.  Bad customer service if you ask me.  In the end, all I can do is warn you about this company.  I'm not one to complain about a business,  but this seems egregious.  I would have hoped that they would honor their original quote of $750 for the 30 tiles they replaced (which looked like previously used tiles,  might I add), but they laughed me off instead.  My advice,  do NOT use Brea Roofing unless you have money and months to waste. read more

Brea Roofing did some work for me about 20 years ago. I was really happy with their quality of work, their ethics, and interfacing with Dan (the owner). And I recommended them to a number of people. More recently I called for an estimate. During the assessment, I was given some bad technical information - don't know if it was by mistake or intent. When I asked about it, I never received a reply/explanation. Then after waiting two weeks for the estimate, I had to ask for it. I was told it was emailed to me. If it was, I never received it - I had been checking my email daily. When I did finally receive it, I indicated I was good to go with one exception which would have meant one single simple modification. I never heard back. It's obvious he (not Dan) didn't want to do the job; he ignored my technical question, I had to ask for the estimate after a two week wait, and he never followed up to do the work. I would have been okay with being told straight out he didn't want to do the job. His approach was to ignore, rather than communicate. Will not be calling or recommending Brea Roofing ever again. There are plenty of other good roofers out there looking for work. This is an honest and accurate review of events. read more

The woodwork and shingles work was done by their own work team. We needed a lot of wood replacement so it took about 3 days to complete. Applying the shingles took another 3days. I couldn't be happier with the work and customer service. I have used this company twice. The first time I found this company using Angie's List back in 2016. I had a leak which I thought was going to cost me an arm and a leg. They looked at it and said, it was a simple fix and they could actually fix it the same day. Then last week during our 4 days of rain in a row, we found on the last day a small wet spot. I took a closer look and I can tell I had a small leak somewhere at another location from 2016. I called them last week to set up an appointment this week. They came out this week to look at it, again confirmed it is something small and they were able to take care of it immediately (since it was an easy fix) during their busy time. A friend had referred me to Brea Roofing. I had set up an appointment for 1pm and he showed up at 9am. He said he would inspect the roof to see give an estimate. I went to restroom and by the time I came out he was gone! Justin took a total of 3 minutes and left without letting me know he was done. I called him and he said he would give me the estimate via email, mail or phone? He rudely said that's how I do my job and if you don't like it, I won't be doing the job! First, get all your other estimates and pay close attention to how those guys answer your questions and their ideas on resolving existing issues with your roof. Then call Brea Roofing and do the same. You will see a difference. I replaced my roof (both pitched and a flat extension with less than 0.4" slope). They installed a tapered roof and topped it off with HydroStop - a truly remarkable product that deflects radiant heat. For a flat root, that makes a huge noticeable difference with heat reduction. Also had new gutters and insulation replaced. Overall a very good and clean job. I am happy with how they resolved my existing issues with water damage - solutions that only come with years of experience. Dan's team have been around for a while - they don't hire just anyone who can hammer a nail. They are certified GAF installers and I see the difference. Also got a rebate from Gas Co for the insulation. read more

I rescheduled for a second day, and they did not show at the scheduled time, and after repeated calls I was finally told they could not start the work for another hour, then another two hours. Brea Roofing did an excellent job of re-roofing a 15 unit apartment building that I manage. Justin the owner of Brea Roofing was very knowledgeable and personable. He walked me through the entire process from start to finish and provided a competitive estimate on the job. And then he delivered on everything. Many of Justin's workers are long-time employees who safely replaced any damaged wood (plywood and facia boards) before carefully installing the necessary new roofing components, edge metal and new shingles. The guys worked hard and cleaned up the job site after each day. The job was very professionally done and they handled all the permits. Justin and Victor, the GM were on the job site from time to time to follow-up on the progress throughout the project. The apartment owners and I are very happy with Brea roofing and we highly recommend them as we will be using them for future projects. The roof looks great and we're ready for the rain! read more

Ok not good at all Brea roofing was contracted by the Association of the Condo complex I owned a home in. They were hired to replace the face tile on all unites that need it and they put a schedule out for owners to be there to have gates open etc. The first day they were a no show and this has just started the downward spiral the job as taken. When we ask the Forman when or what tomorrow brings we get short or no response, we ask because the noise is so loud and our Dogs have to be given tranquilizers. So the first day was for nothing and now the job has dragged on and my household is a Reck ! Brea Roofing you need to consider the peoples lives you are disrupting and have a little more consideration! OK it just gets worse next day no work scheduled day for our building and so no mess for the pups oh wait here they are moving tile on the roof and running and dropping heavy tiles so loud and heavy that the plaster cracked inside my House! Use them and this could happen to you Well OK this is 4/21/17 16 days after I started and Brea Roofing has not completed the job as a matter of fact all the 4plexs are incomplete and they are 3 weeks Behind. Our life has been on hold because we never know if they are going to show up and put my sweet Dogs in such a state that they have to be medicated! We have not gotten one word on completion and last we hurd they delivered the wrong tiles because they ran out of corner pieces! This job is only the facing tiles can you imagine if they were actually doing the roof too OK so it is now going on 6 weeks and Brea Roofing is still on our roof today they were to come and fix the shotie job on our tiles and was supposed to be here at 10 and did not show till 11:30 so once again my dogs are in a panic attack and we finally get them calmed down after the finish and leave oh but wait they have just come back and are stomping on the roof because they forgot to clean up REALLY WTF this is just a unbelievable situation read more

Each day when they left for the day you would never know they had been working because they cleaned up very well. A technician came to my house to give me an estimate for a leak.I said good morning without a reply back. He did not introduce himself and came into MY house with a less than subpar professional attitude. He would cut me off when I spoke. This person did not even look at the area where it was leaking and just took pictures from afar. The leak apparently dried up over night and when I tried to show him a picture of the leak, as I was trying to be helpful during this process, he did not even want to look at it. I had to ask him for his name-that's how rude he was. By the way, I have cameras through out my house and I thought I was overthinking everything, but I replayed the footage to confirm my interaction with him. Oh by the way his name is Victor.
